Chapter 31

This morning I woke up feeling very happy in my heart. It's still hard to believe what Galang did yesterday. He proposed. In a way I never imagined before. No problem with the absence of flowers or other romantic things. Just by saying that, I knew that he really meant to get on with his life. Together withme.

Talk about the future and move on. I remember that I had not been to college during the healing period. And it looks like I should go in soon to take care of the tasks that were delayed. And also speed up my script. At least I'm no longer procrastinating to graduate soon. And must also soon learn to walk again, eliminating the stiffness in my legs, even though it has not healed well. But I think that's the best.

I also began to rise from the top of my bed. Trying to hold on to the table next to my bed. A little stiff right on my right foot that's still wrapped. I sighed violently, because of the sudden sting of pain I felt right on my right leg. “I can definitely..” I muttered to myself. I bit my lower lip once more and made sure that I started not feeling the sting of pain like that.

I slowly approached the door of my room. And open. And apparently, there's still no one awake besides me. My point is Refi, Magdum and Galang. They had not all woken up, probably from exhaustion last night. Moreover, Galang who just slept when it was almost late at night. He could never properly – properly sleep soundly since the terror was directed at me. He got too carried away, I think.

I kept holding on as I went down the – steps very slowly. Go to the kitchen and try to be able to prepare food for all of them. I should try to get used to it once again, at least to improve the taste of my homemade food that is no longer the same as it used to be. Fried rice with a moderate spicy taste and also filled with vegetables, four fried eggs of beef eyes, and also orange juice. I smiled to myself as I put everything on the dining table. The delicious aroma coming from the fried rice made my empty stomach feel even more rumbling.

“You're up?” magdum asked, to my surprise, as he suddenly stood right behind me, with his right hand rubbing his face. He looks very sleepy.

I smiled slightly, and nodded my head quickly and vigorously. “Iya... I made breakfast for all of you..” I shifted my body and let Magdum sit on one of the dining table chairs. Stare at me sharply. Makes me a little uncomfortable with that sharp look.

I also smiled clumsily, rubbing the nape of my neck that did not itch. As diversion. “Why do you see me like that?!”

“Your feet are still sick.. Why are you cooking instead?! Can I, Brother Refi or Galang who cook later. You're not doing well yet, Lily.” Magdum replied with a firm tone and full of worries.

“I know, Magdum.. but if I just lay down and rest, I won't be able to recover faster, will I?! So, I'm going to start learning to do everything I normally do..” I smiled as Magdum smiled and nodded his head, as a sign that he understood what I wanted. “Oya, where are Kak Refi and Galang?” ask me when there is no one between Kak Refi and also Galang who came down from the room.

Magdum shrugged both of his shoulders as a sign of indifference. He even started putting on a sullen face. “Kak Refi is working on his work proposal. And the old Galang was still asleep in bed. The old man won't wake up to have breakfast with you, Lily.

“Who said this old man would not be able to have breakfast with his own future wife?” Galang's voice rang out from the direction of the stairs, and I turned around with a big smile, as Galang referred to me as his ‘candidate’. Of course, it made me feel flowery this morning.

“What do you mean by ‘candidate wife’, huh?!” Magdum asked in a loud voice, and I turned to look at him. Magdum looked very unhappy with Galang's words just now.

“Magdum..” I muttered. And I heard the sound of footsteps from Galang who was getting closer to this dining table.

I looked at him, and Galang threw a teasing smile at him. He looks so ugly if it's like that. Gosh darn. I started shaking my head. “Of course Lily is my future wife.I also proposed to her last night.” said Galang who made Magdum just rise from his seat and stare sharply at Galang. I also looked at me in a change of direction.

“You.... what??” Magdum asked with a tone of voice that sounded very trembling and tilted his head, as if he had heard wrongly the words Galang earlier.

Galang began to sit on the dining table chair, still with that mischievous and wide smile. Both eyes glared at me and with satisfaction towards Magdum who could only be heard. “Ya.. I proposed to Lily last night. And he has accepted my proposal, he has also worn my cover ring.” Replied Galang with his relaxed yet proud tone of voice at one time.

Magdum still gaped in disbelief, while staring right at my ring finger that had been pinned by the legacy ring belonging to Grandmother Galang. Magdum stared at me deeply, occasionally turning his eyes to look at my fingers. I know it's still very difficult to be digested by Magdum's mind, but, how else. I also can't wait long to be able to join Galang at the pelaminan. This is a big and special dream for my next life. Me and Galang, we will both be husband and wife later. And spending life together with Galang, is a very long time and very valuable to be missed. And I don't want anything bad to happen to our future lives anymore.

I smiled in silence, and began to wake up from my daydream. Staring at Galang who laughed loosely while ruffling Magdum's hair with anxiety, as well as banging slowly Magdum's body, and of course was answered in a similar way by Magdum. Their relationship began to soften, and made a little better, of course. It feels so much better than having to watch them keep fighting because of me. Although now, it still feels very stuck in the heart, that Magdum may not or even willing if I have received the proposal given by Galang last night. And I can understand that.

She felt more romantic, although at first, she was still hesitant to do romantic things in our relationship. She was still very stiff the first time we met and dated, throughout our relationship. And this is meaningful progress. I smiled again, and I don't know how many times I've smiled this morning, and I don't want this smile to turn into tears, because of new problems.

“Wah, who cooked this really delicious looking food?!” Refi's sister appears suddenly, and makes Magdum choke from his meal. And it turns out that Magdum has started his meal since then, while I and Galang are still late in the face-to-face.

“I cooked it, sis,” answered me while fixing my sitting position, and Galang brought his dining chair closer to me.

I glanced at the silent Refi Brother, staring deeply at the two of us. Then I knew that Refi was now staring at my ring finger that had been embedded in the application ring that Galang had given me last night. I smiled slightly, and I grasped Galang's left palm on the dining table, preparing to grab some food. Galang gasped at my touch, turned his head and looked at me with his question mark.

I approached Galang's left ear and began to whisper softly, making sure Refi wasn't eavesdropping on our conversation. “We have to tell Kak Refi about the impromptu application event that you did to me last night,” I said while holding a smile, when I saw Galang's face that began to look tense and pale. I never even saw her face like this, except for the time when I was in an accident.

“Ehem..” Galang cleared his throat several times, and began to straighten his body. While breathing out repeatedly. He looks very tense at the moment.

“What's up?” Refi's sister looked at him curiously. And started to stop the eating. And as I stared at Magdum, he just glared and turned his face away, as if he didn't care. And I know he still hasn't accepted my decision.

“I want to say if I, already proposed to Lily last night.” He said it with great confidence. With a smile that displayed both of his teeth. And instantly I blushed back, biting my lips for holding back the smile of happiness this time.

And looking back at Kak Refi's facial expression, I would love to laugh at him, how not to hold back from laughing, if currently Kak Refi is gawking with his mouth wide open, while his mouth was still full of fried rice that had not been chewed completely.

“You.... what? What are you doing?” asked Refi to confirm the truth of Galang's words just now.

“Refi... I already proposed to Lily last night. and she said YES!” repeat Galang by pressing the YA word on the back, the end of his speech.

Refi looked at me with curiosity and disbelief. “Lily... is that true? Galang, have you proposed? Did ya? When's? And where?” The demands of the questions given by Kak Refi made me stammer even more and it was difficult to answer them one by one.

After I graduate, we might start living together. I'll finish my script and graduate, so brother will be proud of me.”

Brother Refi nodded his head slowly while returning my hand. “I know it..”.

“Again.. after I get married later. Sister will be free to find a future wife, and will not be single for long.... right?!” My God who got a small blow on my arm by Brother Refi. “Already.... Now let's continue our breakfast. It's almost cold everything..” continued, while releasing my hand from Brother Refi.

Galang, Kak Refi, Magdum and also I began to continue our breakfast that had been delayed earlier. We ate together, and it really made me happy. I can't stop smiling so happily because of it, it's a very happy moment for me. I mean, I don't want to hide my happiness anymore. And I don't know why I feel that this doesn't mean that all the problems that happened yesterday will stop. I don't know why, I feel like something new is coming. But I have always said’a so that nothing harms me, Galang, Magdum, Kak Refi and all my friends.

I refocused myself on my food, even though it felt like swallowing food after thinking about it was very difficult. But, I have to eat now.
