Imperfection
Chapter 8

“Kak, I'm going to the supermarket for a minute huh? Want to buy ice cream.” Pamitku just for a moment when it was near the living room.

Brother Rendi who is currently near the dining table just turned his head right at me. “Eh? Want to get some ice cream? Want a sister who bought it?” asked Kak Rendi who offered herself and started to rise from her sitting position there right now.

And in a moment I shook my head in a quick motion. “No. No. gabe. I'm just gonna be a minute. Do you want to buy them all?” ask me while tightening the jacket that I am currently wearing right now.

“Bby.” Murmured Kak Rendi there while starting to reach into his pants pocket and take his wallet. I stepped closer to him with a big smile. At least, I should look if I'm okay, right?

“This money. Remind brother's favorite? Chocolate flavor coated with the beans it. but brother forgot his name.” Continue Kak Rendi while giving some money towards me with an equally wide smile.

“Oke-okay. Today, we're both going to have an ice cream party. Okay well? Then I go first...” replied me while receiving the money and putting it right into my pants pocket.

Brother Rendi nodded his head. And immediately I walked out of the house while taking a paddle bike that was near Kak Rendi's car. I would ride the pedal bike to get to the nearest supermarket which is located outside the housing where we live today. And it was during that journey that I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the night which was very quiet and also the gusts of wind that kept waving my hair which I tied lowly. It only took fifteen minutes to get to the supermarket. I immediately parked the paddle bike and walked quickly to get into the supermarket. The atmosphere wasn't too crowded either, and soon I started choosing the ice cream I was going to buy. I told Rendi that we were both going to an ice cream party tonight.

“Lili?” call someone who is right behind me and I immediately turn around and get shocked.

How not? If right now, right behind me and the one who called me just now is Mr. Deo. That shitty lecturer on campus. She seemed to be dressed very casually and smiled broadly at me. And it really directly made me frown pretty deeply. The appearance of Mr. Deo now feels like it is not Mr. Deo. Moreover, with a wide smile adorned his face there. It really feels really weird to me.

“Eh, Mr Deo? Father here too?” I asked her to try to make small talk to herself there right now.

Mr. Deo nodded his head in a quick motion, and began to move his legs closer towards me. “Ya. I'm buying ice cream, eh?” Mr. Deo is watching me right now.

“Only a few snacks. For deposits at home.” The answer.

The two of us instantly fell silent together there. And I quickly realized that I had to go home. “Sorry Sir. Excuse me for paying first. I have to go home right now.” said I who broke the silence and also the awkwardness that happened between the two of us here it is now.

Mr. Deo was seen rounding his eyes, as if he had come to a realization. “Sure, please. I still need to buy some other stuff.” Answer while leaving.

And I walked quickly after that to get closer to the cashier and started waiting in line to be able to pay for the groceries that I had bought.

I paddled my bike slowly. I don't even care about the ice cream I've bought that will melt. But, right now I decided to pass another residential street. And yes, that other residential street is the one that will cross Tina's house. I myself did not even have any intention to follow or with anything else. But I just feel really curious about what's going on with Ryan and Tina. Once I can get the answer, then that's when I can just find out what the next step I can do later.

And when I've started approaching right into Tina's house. I slowed down the pace of my paddle bike and began to pause there for a moment. In a place where the street light is quite dim and hopefully I really won't be seen from there. I watched as I began to realize that there was a car stopping right in front of Tina's house. And when someone comes out of there. I realized that the one who came out of the car was Ryan, who started to turn around the car to open the car door on the other side. Until I saw Tina also get out of the car with a smile on her face that was very cheerful and wide. I mean, they both look like they're smiling a lot and like they've just had a good time.

For some reason, I was not happy with the two of them coming out together. And I felt hurt, because I could see Ryan smiling partly with Tina, and not with me. Was I wrong from the start to fall in love with Ryan? Which is my best friend. And seeing her happy with Tina, who is also my best friend, made me start to realize, if my feelings all this time did any harm. I don't deserve Ryan right now. Not in the present or in the future. And when I realized, I was going to start crying, and soon I turned my bike around and no longer crossed the road. I don't want to look more broken right now. And I don't want the two of them to see me there and also notice the two of them from quite a distance away.

And now my tears have fallen and washed my whole face. I sobbed, and felt very claustrophobic right inside my heart. And I feel I can't take it anymore. Even the grip of both my palms on my paddle bike looks stronger, although the paddles on both my legs feel very weak now. I can't anymore...
