Chapter 38

The sound of shoes rubbing against the wooden floor which makes a noise. Bass approached the main room and entered it. But with surprise he saw a figure who stood firm with a weapon that had been pointed at him.

"Shut up on the spot!" said the man.

While Bass who heard that gasped in shock. He threw out the small flashlight he was holding. Instead of being afraid or silent as a statue, he screamed.

"EDY RUN..," He immediately ran out of the room even Edy who heard that was panicked.

The sound of feet stomping on the floor also echoed like the roar of lightning that was happening tonight. The storm will come in line with today's weather predictions. The fast-running bass immediately grabbed Edy's collar still waiting for him at the door to equally escape from the house.

The sound of a rifle held by an officer was then sounded so that they were afraid, but in fact they were not afraid of it and instead fled. While Herman and the other two had been standing guard near they parked a car a little far from Herman's house.

One who chased them from behind seemed to shout to stop their steps.

"STAY WHERE I DON'T SHOOT YOU!!!" his yell.

Bass and Edy kept running in an uncertain direction so that their movements could not be shot from far away. Some time spent just to run even their breath was boring because of running.

"A little more.., hegh hegh," the sound of Bass's breath sounded tight.

"A little more to the car... Edy, hurry up you run first and get the car there" Bass ordered.

But Edy who was just as exhausted was not able to make a sound even he almost fainted. Bass who knew that was just grumbling furiously. "Basic useless! Your mouth works a lot!"

The two of them ran back, while at Herman's side who was ready to aim his weapon at Bass and Edy was instead detained by Herman.

These two people looked at each other and finally nodded their heads. One of them held the rifle up. But unexpectedly, Bass saw it. Bass saw the silhouette of the three of them close to his car because of the lantern that was still burning on the stamp of the car.

"Damn! We gotta get out of here. This place is surrounded," muttered Bass. He immediately pulled his friend and immediately ran in the direction that was the most far in reach and would not be possible to pursue.

Not having time to find the two young people who were still leaving his car, the officer who was chasing the two bandits came over.

"Did they not get here?" tanyakanya.

"There is no trace or sound that goes in this direction" said one of them Herman responded with a nod confirming that what his friend said was true.

"Damn! We lost them!" aspat is one of them. "We trace their tracks" he continued.

Indeed the darkness of the night enveloped the city of Victoria, because it wanted a storm. But before stepping foot to trace the footsteps of Bass and Edy, Herman immediately prevented them all and reminded that we should go back into the house only. Inevitably, they agreed. Then they all left the car there.

Edy and Bass who were still running bowed their bodies. Stop for a moment to run. "I think we're far away and there's no way they're going to go after it. We need to get back to the car. The weather tonight is terrible," he said gasping for air.

"really. We will walk through the bushes and reach our destination. Damnit damnit! Oscar didn't give us anything. Only this useless weapon accompanies! Cuih..," said Edy angry.

Bass just kept quiet, not going to argue with Edy. He preferred to calm his breath as if he wanted to break from his lung cavity.
