“Actually, what happened to nak Fatwa, Kak?” ask mama.

Mom's question instantly broke my daydream. I looked at my mom, tears coming back to my cheeks. I began to hug my mother, unable to hold back my sorrow for what had happened to the man.

Mama clutched my body back. He rubbed my back.

“Please yourself, Brother. If you really don't want to tell a story now, Mama won't force you,”.

“Fa-fatwa shot, Ma. In-he was shot by ka-for protecting Brother,” I replied stammered.

“Astagfirullahaladzim! But, how can it be?” ask mama again.

“A-anneu tried to harm Brother. At first he was about to shoot my brother. But, when Anneu pulled the trigger of her firearm, suddenly Fatwa came to block Brother. Until finally, the bullet hit Fatwa's body,”.

“Innalillahi .. may nak Fatwa be fine,” do,a mama.

“Aamiin,” answer.

The journey from the police station to the hospital takes 30 minutes. Arriving there, Zein dropped me, mama and Rayya in front of the hospital lobby. He drove his car back to the parking lot.

Me, mama and Rayya immediately entered and headed straight for the registration section.

“Excuse me, Sus!” greet Rayya, “patients of shooting victims on behalf of Fatwa were taken to where, yes?” ask Rayya.

“Shortly yes, Ma'am. I check first,” replied the nurse standing guard in the registration room.

Rayya nodded. A few minutes later.

“Patient named Fatwa, is currently undergoing action in the operating room,” replied the nurse.

“Can we wait for him in front of the room?” ask Rayya again.

“Alright, Ma'am. Please go straight to the operating room only. The room is on the third floor. Ma'am can ask the guard nurse there, where is the operating room,” replied the nurse.

“Good. Thank you, Sus,” said Rayya.

“Sama-sama,” reply the nurse.

After saying goodbye, we started to take the elevator to the operating room. Arriving in front of the operating room, Rayya told Zein about our current whereabouts. Mama and I sat in front of the operating room. The light above the door is still on, that means, the operation is still running.

I don't know how long we've been waiting. Mama was already looking exhausted, while Rayya was still walking back and forth in front of the operating room door. His lips look comatose stringing do’a. Sometimes he stared at the lights that were still on.

“Ish, why hasn't it been extinguished as well,” grumbled Rayya.

“Sabar, Ray,” said Zein, “come home, you should sit here,” continued Zein while patting the bench next to him.

Rayya glanced at Zein, after which, she landed her butt next to Zein. A moment later, Zein clasped Rayya's hand.

I just smiled at their behavior. Maybe my guess was right, for sure as long as I was gone, something happened between them.

A sreek!

Suddenly a nurse slid the door of the operating room. His face looks very tense. Rayya, Zein and I immediately approached the nurse. Mom is still waiting in the waiting chair.

“What's up, Sus? How is Fatwa sir?” ask Zein.

“The condition of the patient is very critical, Mas. He's lost a lot of blood. The blood supply in this hospital is gone. At this time, I want to call the PMI to find a blood type that matches the patient,” said the nurse at length.

“Indeed, what is the patient's blood type, Sus manyu?”

“Patient blood type, A,” nurse replied.

Oh my God, how is this? My blood type is not the same as Fatwa. How can I help her?

“Take my blood only, Sus. Incidentally, my blood type is the same as Fatwa sir,” Zein said.

Rayya and I looked at Zein.

“Relax, Brother. Mr. Fatwa must be fine. Hopefully my blood is suitable for donation,” Zein said.

I'm nodding. “Thank you, Zein,”.

“Then, come with me, Mas!” take the nurse to Zein.

Zein nodded, she then followed the nurse for a match test. Rayya followed Zein, while I sat down with my mom.

After a few minutes, the nurse re-entered the operating room with several bags of blood. Hmm, it looks like Zein's blood has a match for Fatwa's blood.

Alhamdulillah …. I give thanks in my heart.

Half an hour later, Rayya was seen packing Zein back to the bench in front of the operating room.

“Ray, Zein looks pale, mama also looks very tired. You better book a hotel around here to rest,” I told Rayya.

“Iya, Kak .. We have indeed booked a hotel to stay tonight,” Rayya replied.

“Then you go to rest. Let Brother wait for Fatwa here,”.

“But, Bang,” timpal Rayya.

“No pa-pa, Ray. Bang Zein is fine. After all, the police only know the number to contact Kak Chi. You better take your mom to the hotel. Mama must be soy sauce, Ray,” said Zein.

"Alright then, Rayya same Mama go home first. Call if there is a recent development,” Rayya message to us.

Me and Zein nodded.

“Mama go home first yes, Brother. Take good care of yourself. Don't forget to eat,” said mama while stroking my head.

I nodded and kissed the back of her hand, Zein did the same.

“Titip Sister yes, Nak Zein!” said mama.

“Iya, Ma, don't worry, Zein must take care of Kak Chi,” Zein said.

Mom smiled. “Thank you,” said.

“Sama-sama, Ma,” replied Zein.

Mama and Rayya went out from in front of us.

.

.

“Kak, we go to the canteen first, yuk! Brother must have not eaten since last afternoon,” invite Zein.

“Big brother is not hungry, Zein,” answered me who does not taste to eat.

“Then let Zein pack for Brother only, yes,” her proposal.

I nodded in agreement to Zein's proposal. Shortly after, with a shunt move, Zein went to the hospital canteen.

Half an hour after Zein left, the light above the operating room door suddenly went out. Minutes later, a team of doctors treating Fatwa came out of the operating room. I'm approaching them right away.

“How is the patient's condition, Doc?” I asked with my lips shaking.

“What are you patient family?” ask a doctor who seems to be a senior.

“I'm a patient friend, Doc,” I replied.

“Alhamdulillah, we have been able to remove the bullet lodged in his left chest. But unfortunately, the bullet hit the edge of the patient's heart. We do’a only, hopefully the patient does not experience postoperative complications,” said the doctor, honestly.

Instantly, my body again felt weak to hear the doctor's words. A moment later, I saw some nurses pushing Fatwa's gurney.

“Pa-patient where to take it, Doc?” my question, confused.

“For now, the patient will be taken to the ICU room for postoperative observation,” replied the doctor.

“Can I take care of patients?” ask again.

“No need, there is already a medical team that will monitor the patient at any time. However, if Miss still wants to know the development of patients, Miss can wait for patients outside the ICU room,” replied the senior doctor.

“Alright, Doc. I will wait outside,”, I said.

The doctor seemed to nod. A moment later, the team of doctors left.

After the team of doctors left, I set foot to follow the nurses who would take Fatwa to the ICU room. Suddenly, Zein shouted to me.

“Son, Chi!” Scurrying, Zein approached me.

“What's up, Zein?” my question, a little bit of frowning.

“The police should call me. They said if the victims who fell into the ravine had managed to find them,” Zein said.

“Alhamdulillah ..” says, “then, how is it, Zein?” my many.

“One was found in critical condition, while the other was la-“

“The other one is why, Zein?” I asked to cut out Zein's words.

“The other one ... passed away, Brother,” Zein replied.

“Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun,” gumamku, “who died Zein? Bang Rizal or Anneu?” ask me again with an uncertain feeling.

“Zein don't know, Brother. They did not tell me in detail. They're just asking us to see the two victims at Husada hospital. Hows it? Would you like to go now?” ask Zein.

I just stared at Zein without being able to answer. This bad news really messed my mind up.

“Kak Chi?”
