Chapter 21: Teaching Magic

Upon arriving at the capital city of Urushia, Ferisu meets a magical girl named Lucy. At that time he was being chased by a group of slave traders, but managed to be stopped. The girl was with Alfred on the first floor of the inn.

In room...

"Prayer..." Ferisu yawned due to drowsiness, during this one week he did not sleep because of the non-stop travel. He laid his body on the bed and stared at the ceiling.

His eyes slowly began to close and instantly fell asleep soundly. There are two things that can restore the magic energy of the vampire race, the first by drinking blood and the second by sleeping. But, instead of sleeping a day or a week, they need to sleep longer. Ferisu prefers to drink blood rather than sleep.

On the first floor, Alfred was still with the girl. "You're a witch, right?" alfred said in a questioning tone.

"W-yeah, but I can't use it..."

"Using what?"

"The-the magic..."

Lucy took out a very thick book and placed it on the table. "I can't read it" he said gloomily.

Alfred looked at the book and was silent for a moment. "Great! Where'd you get a book this good?!" he said in amazement flipping through the pages of the book.

"Is this book that good?" ask Lucy to be confused.

"of course! This book explains all magic theories even ways to amplify magic and multiply magic energy!" replied Alfred who looked so excited.

Lucy laughed a little sadly as she looked at the man before her. "In short, I didn't even understand and read any of the letters in the book" he said in a sad tone.

When he saw the face of the girl before him, Alfred smiled. "Do I want to teach you how to read and use magic?" he said warmly.

The girl's eyes widened and immediately looked at the face of the man before her. "You're-you're serious?" he said he didn't believe.

"Of course, I don't have a job anyway. Ferisu is also on a break right now" replied Alfred.

The two of them walked out of the inn, rather going to the backyard of the inn. The place has a large yard, there is a field to dry clothes and also a horse stable.

Alfred and Lucy sit under a tree with a mat. Alfred taught Lucy how to read letters so gently and patiently. It didn't take long, Lucy could read the letters in the book quite smoothly.

Then they walked towards the middle of the empty field.

"You've never used magic, have you?" ask Alfred to be sure.

Lucy nodded slowly.

Alfred grabbed Lucy's hand.

"Eh!? W-what do you want to do!?" she panics when her hand is touched by Alfred.

"I just want to drain my magic energy on you," Alfred replied innocently.

Then Alfred passed his magic energy to Lucy slowly so that he could feel it.

Whatisthis? Something so warm felt clear in my hands, what is this thing called magic energy (where) ?

"Hows it? Can you feel it?" ask Alfred.

Lucy nodded. "Yes, I don't know why it feels like I can use magic now" Lucy replied with a joyful face.

It was late in the afternoon and Ferisu woke up from his sleep. He sat down for a moment and looked out the window. A warm wind blew slowly on his face, the evening sky that was red to emasan was clearly visible.

A faint sound and magic energy coming out from the direction of the field made Ferisu turn his head in that direction. "That, Alfred and the girl before," he murmured.

Ferisu jumped straight out of the window and landed so softly like a fallen feather. He walked slowly to two people who seemed to be practicing magic.

"O water, give me your power, turn into a bubble that can blow up obstacles, bubble bombs!"

When it was seen a blue particle appeared and formed a water bubble the size of a coconut. The bubble shot out quickly and blew up the wooden chunks that were targeted.

When the lump of wood was successfully charged the girl who used magic jumped up and shouted with a very satisfied expression. "Horay! I can do it Alfred!" he said with a very sweet smile.

"Yes, congratulations Lucy" said Alfred with a warm smile.

The atmosphere is so warm and serene. The two people who looked at each other with a smile that was so warm on their faces, like lovers.

At that moment a sound of applause broke that calmness.

"Ah, Ferisu, is your sleep good?" alfred asked as he looked at Ferisu who was walking towards them.

"That's how it is" said Ferisu, then he looked towards the magical girl. "You can already use magic yeah."

"Hehe, of course!" lucy answered so confidently while puffing out her flat chest.

"Good then, now I will show you how to use magic more efficiently," Ferisu said.

His right hand was raised and pointed forward, heading towards the target of the attack. Without saying anything, a whitish-blue-colored particle appeared and formed an ice spear that shot rapidly towards the target.

"Without the rapping...?" mumbling Lucy who was shocked when she saw that.

"Yes, if you're in the middle of a fight, casting spells will make you easy to attack" said Ferisu with a flat face.

"Keep, how can I use magic without neatness?" ask Lucy with ambition.

Ferisu explained about magic casually in order to be easily understood. Magic was originally something that was difficult for the intellect to understand. How did it form? The answer is only one, through imagination.

"Imagination, yeah," murmured Lucy.

"Well, how did the fire come into being?" ferisu asked Lucy.

"That's because of the oxygen, the fuel, and the heat, right?" lucy answered innocently.

Upon hearing that answer Ferisu was slightly surprised. In this world, no one knows the concept of atoms, nor does anyone know about oxygen.

"I-iya, you just need to imagine that and channel magic energy into your hands or the air around you" Ferisu said as he raised a fireball in his right hand.

Lucy nodded and closed her eyes trying to bring out a fire without using any magical chanting. Just then a fireball, the size of a tennis ball appeared in his hand.

"Successfully?" he mumbled in disbelief.

"It's impossible." said Alfred did not believe what he saw. Other than Ferisu, he had never seen anyone else use magic without neatness and now, the person who had just learned magic could instantly use magic without neatness.

When the girl was happy with the results of her training Ferisu asked something that made her silent in silence. "Lucy, how do you know about oxidation reactions?"
