Chapter 38: The Elf Forest

After the affair with the lamias and the fog swords was finished, they came out of the valley and arrived at a vast meadow. Now their group grew by one person, a long black-haired girl with golden eyes. A golden serpent as a familiar, she is the queen of lamia, Yoruka.

During the trip Yoruka seemed to try to get close to Licia, she always tried to invite her to chat and tell stories. Maybe it was his apology and his desire to make friends. Licia also responded to Yoruka's invitation to talk, over time they looked so close like a good friend.

Shiro approached Kurumi's place. "Hey, aren't you suspicious of that woman?" she whispered softly as she glanced at Yoruka.

"No, Yoruka-san has no evil intentions. I can guarantee that, I used my eye skills and looked into the distant future quite a bit" Kurumi replied with a smile.

"What did you see?" tanya Shiro was curious.

"Ferisu-sama, Licia-san, Yoruka-san and a few other girls smiled and laughed together in a spacious dining room," Kurumi replied.

"But that can change, right?" Shiro asked again for certainty.

"Yes, the future can be changed depending on how we do it" Kurumi replied.

Shiro and Kurumi, Licia and Yoruka, they looked so happy when chatting together. At the very back of the line, Ferisu looked at them with a small smile on his face. "When they had a great quarrel before, but are now good friends" he murmured inwardly.

Ferisu raised his face upwards, looking at the bright blue sky. He narrowed his eyes because he felt glare when he looked towards the sun. Then lowered his head, looking at the path he was walking. At that moment, Ferisu stopped walking.

"What is Ferisu-sama?" licia asked as she watched Ferisu stop walking.

Ferisu just stood pecking with a look down. His eyes looked so serious and frowned like he was thinking hard. "What creatures move underground?" mumbling slowly.

Shiro approached Ferisu and looked at him from below. "What's up, Ferisu-sama? Your face looks so pale," he said in a questioning tone.

Ferisu shook his head, "No, it's nothing," he replied hesitantly. Ferisu had been in the world of Envend for quite some time, however, he had never felt such a strong sense of intimidation. This was the first time that a creature had made Ferisu feel afraid.

Ferisu tried not to think about it and then continued on his way. They roamed the vast grasslands until they reached the borders of the lush forest. As he was about to enter the forest, an arrow shot out and stuck into the ground, right in front of Ferisu's feet.

"It seems we are not welcome here" said Ferrisu slowly as he glanced at the branches of the tree.

A female elf came out from behind a tree and approached the newcomer who was trying to get into the forest. He walked while pointing his arrow. "Go! You're not allowed into this forest!" he said with a repulsive tone.

"Rui-chan!" Licia ran over to the elf who pointed the arrow. The look of a shocked face engraved was clearly shown by the elf.

"Li-Licia-sama!? Is that really you?" answer with disbelief. Licia nodded slowly, then the elf named Rui lowered her bow and arrow.

Licia immediately ran to hug him with a smile and a happy feeling of being able to meet her best friend again.

"Anu, Licia-sama, who are they?" asked Rui cautiously.

"Ah, that man named Ferisu, he's the one who saved me. The cat girl's name is Shiro, whose rabbit is called Kurumi, and another lamia queen is called Yoruka." Licia answered Rui's question casually and introduced everyone she was with.

"Although they are your friends, still they are not allowed to enter the forest," Rui said unkindly.

"But..."

"I'm sorry, but that's the law."

Shiro and Kurumi stared at each other in confusion. "Fantasy world?" they say.

"Ah, no. It's nothing" said Ferisu, closing his eyes. During the closing of her eyes Ferisu noticed the existence of the other elves watching from within the forest. "Can you guys get out? I just want to bring back Licia, no hostile intentions at all" he said.

"Eh, what? Who's coming?" ask everyone who's there.

A female elf came out with two bodyguards who were coming with her. "Grandma!" licia shouted, then ran into the grandmother's arms.

"Truly a foolish grandson, carelessly out of the forest protector," said the Grandmother with great worry.

"I'm sorry..." Licia looked so regretful and a drop of tears fell down her cheek.

On the other hand, the grandmother glanced at Ferisu with a suspicious look. "I am the leader of the elven forest, Queen of the Elverne kingdom, Olivia." Olivia, the queen of elves, and her grandmother Licia introduced herself.

"Devil, I don't know what race you're from. Looks like you're not messing with my granddaughter. If your business is done, you can leave" Olivia said in a repulsive tone.

"Grandmother! Ferisu-sama is my savior! How could Grandma throw away my savior so disrespectfully! I want to return the favor properly!" refute Licia who does not accept with her grandmother's words.

Ferisu showed a flat face.

I was sure I wouldn't be accepted by the elves. Among the many races, elves were a very wary race. Among the elves, it seemed that Licia alone was a bit careless.

Ferisu muttered in his heart, then glanced towards the three women standing nearby.

"Is that-is? It seems like my granddaughter is a little troublesome for you, Ferisu-dono," Olivia said with a visibly irritated face.

"I won't do anything, just get me into the village" Ferisu politely replied.

"..." - ".Olivia looked at Ferisu with suspicion. "Please answer, what are you after?" tanyakanya.

Ferisu was silent for a moment. "If this is the same as the fantasy world that exists in novels and comics, it should exist" he murmured inwardly.

"I want the tree of the world," Ferisu replied loudly.

Olivia flinched, as did the elves around her. "Go! The reason you're here doesn't make sense!" olivia shouted with hostility.

"Ah, that doesn't mean I want to destroy or take the tree away. I just want to take a look at it," Ferisu replied calmly.

Olivia still showed a face that was so upset, however, Licia looked at her Grandma with a sad face. "Can ya? I assure you, Ferisu-sama will not do anything to harm us" he pleaded.

"Ngh! All righty! Two days, I only allow you to stay for two days! Let me remind you, this village will not welcome you kindly!" olivia said with a heavy heart, then turned to go into the forest.

Licia immediately approached Ferisu with a smile. "Thank God, Ferisu-sama," he said.

"It's all thanks to you, Licia," Ferisu replied with a smile.

"I'm glad Ferisu-sama and the others are allowed in. If this continues, I may not want to separate from Ferisu-sama," said Licia with a big smile full of happiness.
