SOS

SOS
Chapters 10

ALEXANDRA could feel a little calmer, right now two people were in front of her. And he knows that they are good people. Alexandra looked out of the car. Lights are rare. Only the street lights make Alyx know that the car is still running on the highway.

Alyx's gaze was blank, he tried not to think of anything that could get him into trouble. It was fortunate that he was very skilled at emptying his mind, just like this moment. Tom didn't really say anything about the place he was going. So Alyx didn't need to completely empty his mind. It's just that, for Alyx, he wouldn't share his thoughts with Max or anyone else.

Their journey is finally over tonight. Now the clock shows two and a quarter. Tom asks Alyx and Jane to get off while they're in the garage.

“You no longer need to empty your mind. We are in a safe place now,” Tom said opening the door to a room. Jane and Alyx follow Tom in the back. “Dad and mom are in SOS, so there's no one else here. This is my room—my workspace,” explained Tom after opening the door.

Alyx looked around. The room he entered was predominantly white. Some computer devices are neatly arranged. Alyx saw Tom who was immediately in front of his computer.

“Censorship switch—even Jane herself couldn't use her skills to strip my mind at my place.”

“Really?” jane asked mockingly.

“For some time we are safe here, meanwhile we will try to open the chip on your body.” Tom turned to Jane, “you can help me, Jane,” Tom said instead of asking—but telling Jane.

“Cannot. I have not graduated college,” replied Jane origin.

A few jokes later Jane stood up taking glasses— with a large size and thicker glass—from

in the drawer, while Tom is still busy with his computer. Jane pulls the chair for herself and points at the chair next to Tom, Alyx quickly moves away.

Alyx sitting. Looked at Jane with questions. There is no answer to his curiosity. Alyx was asked to duck slightly, making his hair unravel to the right and left sides.

Tom attached a sensor to Alyx—'s neck that was connected to his computer. He's moving—to the right and to the left.

Alyx tries to see what Tom is doing, but Jane presses his head, keeping him down. As a result he could only see his neck on the computer— screen with a glance making his eyes a little tired, so he gave up.

Tom stopped moving the sensor as it let out a sound. He put it on the table and pointed at a point.

Jane quickly took over. A magnifying pair of glasses rested on his pointed nose. He bowed a little. “What the fuck is this?” Jane complained while taking off her glasses. “I can't see anything. The chip is too small.” He then pressed a button down next to the glasses. “Well this way,” Jane started it back. After finding the chip that Tom pointed out earlier, he took

a pincer like tweezers—just smaller—tick it to Alyx's neck and clamp something. “Completed. Build.”

Alyx stretched his head. Pretty tired with the position of the duck like that. “I want to see it.” Alyx saw Jane show something on her index finger and made herself shake her head. He can't see anything.

Jane smiled slightly and handed over the glasses she was wearing.

“What is this?” alyx— said more in awe of the thing he was looking at. A very small piece

rectangular, black colored—smaller than a former point exposed to a needle in Jane's hand.

“We will destroy..”.

“No,” Tom interrupts—he screams a little. “Sorry. Put it here,” he said and handed him the clear container he had just picked up from inside the drawer. “If there is time, I can learn it.” After closing the container, he put it back in the drawer. “Well, now that we know, even if you haven't graduated college, you seem to be useful,” Tom told Jane. He now rests his back.

Jane sneered. “Ayolah Alyx,” Jane pulled Alyx's hand and walked out of Tom's private room. “Normally..” said.

while walking towards a room, “if you are here, I spent the night in this guest room.”

Alyx came in after Jane let him in first. Jane blamed the lights. Alyx could see that this room was indeed for a guest. There was only a bed, a pair of tables and chairs, and a study lamp and a computer on it. Why would they provide computers for guests, Alyx thought.

“Let's take a break now,” said Jane who had laid herself on a soft mattress.

Alyx was so tired, so he immediately accepted Jane's offer, and lay down beside her. “You haven't slept yet right?”

alyx asked as some jokes no longer sounded.

“I have not been able to fall asleep at all,” said Jane, although her voice is not as clear as usual.

“You are what department?” Alyx started the conversation and asked about Jane's statement that she had not graduated from college.

Jane thought for a moment and understood that Alyx was asking about her studies. “I was in college at ST—Science and Technology—when it was a year, but moved to SCIMID.”

“Sorry?”

“Science and Mind Development. Soon I will graduate,” said Jane, cheerful.

Although there is no lighting—because Jane had turned it off earlier—Alyx knew that Jane was smiling after saying she would graduate soon. But next there was no response from Alyx. He seems confused. He's never heard of that.

“University of SOS. I love with technology—I can make what I want, like that flip tool—that's my first work.”

“It was great. Then why did you have to move?”

“Before I am twenty years old, the chip that has been implanted in my head will respond to my brain power

have skills and make them stronger. Therefore I must learn to control myself and learn about mind development.”

“Great.” That's all that came out of Alyx's mouth. “How about Tom?”

“She graduated faster than anyone. He graduated from ST a few years ago and became a thief,” Jane said and laughed.

From Jane's laughter, Alyx doesn't need to believe Jane's words about Tom being a thief after graduation, but still he asks that. “Hurp?”

“Yes, after graduation, he tried to get into a class that he considered useful for his future work, class

microbiology, biochemistry, and moreyou know why, because he was eager to replace your father at SOS.—

“What is his position?”

“Directors who plan and implement the construction of SOS. He played a big part in the life of SOS. SOS has been helped a lot by your father.”

“What because of this someone hates him and after knowing that I am his son, they start chasing me.”

Jane was silent for a moment. “Could it be like that?” Jane asked back.

“You don't know?”

“You know, I'd love to know why they're after you, and I thought your conclusion might be true. What is not finished I think your father is a good person, how could they want to destroy the lives of people who have made their lives better.—

“I told you earlier, right, that your father played an important role in SOS. Like ten years ago, if your father didn't exist, the SOS could have been known to others. It could harm all citizens of SOS.”

“SOS price? You mean members of the SOS organization?” Alyx had not asked about this, he had only heard John say it a few times.

“That's what you know?” ask Jane with a smile.

Alyx nods—but then says yes when he realizes Jane is unlikely to see his nod.

“When you are and see SOS, maybe you will say SOS is only a small place compared to the UK or other European Countries, but for us SOS is a big country.”

“Country? But why can't anyone else know? I even heard about it a few weeks ago? If SOS can help a lot of other people's lives out there, they should be doing that good

Jane was silent again. “Since a hundred years ago SOS can live in peace, because we have no people who want to destroy his own country.” Jane chuckles and continues, “SOS tries to limit helping others—this help is just to increase research capital. While others out there who did not have time to get help from SOS, can get it from outside—they have a lot of smart people, he said, among them there are five hundred and five people who have extraordinary abilities—result SOS.”

“But what I'm worried about now is,” Jane said after a few moments of silence, “why did they meet you?”

Alyx could see Jane's face approaching.

Jane put her head back down. “I should have thought about the rebellion that others often talk about. But, I was too complacent in our peaceful life and thought there was no way anyone would commit a big crime—yah because I have to admit some still often do plagiarism— theft of works and on behalf of them. I guess it's just that. And when I found out Max was coming to you in person— talking about SOS directly to you, I was very surprised. You know, we can't tell anyone much else until we have to kill a life. Or maybe the greatest

is Max knowing that you're actually an SOS citizen. Ah yes...” exclaimed Jane as if she had just gotten an answer to a difficult math problem.

“Your father is an SOS citizen and your mother?” ask again.

“I don't know him, it looks like you're wrong, my family in Indonesia once said about the mother who once

stay there. But, I don't know about her, just seeing her never. I thought they had said that my mother died while giving birth to me, and some even told me behind my back that she left me on purpose. Maybe he and she don't want me.”

“Do not think badly. Um, let's just say, if your mother is also an SOS citizen, so that means you are also from us. I think that's the answer from my father who assigned me to always be with you. SOS citizens must look after each other. But..” said Jane later, “why your father made you live in another country, not in SOS. Chances are your mother is an outsider. Arrgh, things get cryptic back,” Jane growls.

“Already, don't think about it anymore, you're making yourself dizzy,” Alyx said. He also wanted to know

the truth of all this. Alyx had actually wanted to stop asking, but the questions came back flowing from his lips. “Max sent me data on SOS. Why do you think he sent the SOS data? Actually I thought that SOS was something terrible.”

“What?”

“Yes, if only you hadn't told me that SOS is a peaceful country. But I remember how they were

those who break the contract suffer again. Even according to Max until there is a murder.”

“Really?”

Alyx breathed. “It looks like you don't know anything about SOS crimes. It's possible that your father kept a secret about how SOS really is, you only know the outside.”

“Do not like that. I was born in the East and almost never took care of the problems that happened in every corner of SOS. Father also never let me roam the *r*land of justice. Said I wasn't old enough to get there.”

“What is it?”

“Place of guilty court. If it's here, like a prosecutor's office. Why would Max show you that data?” tanyanya.

“I should have asked that. Jane, do you know Max?”

“Ehm, we've been in the same class, one semester, so I don't really know her. He doesn't like

hang out with ordinary people. He prefers to be with his friends—the children of the higher-ups. I don't really like his sok— attitude and I don't really care. During this time, he also never made a mistake that could make his position fall. He came to you— I think it was his first mistake—no news in the newspapers, it means his people must have managed to shut the mouth of the news broker."

“Med ed,” Jane added, “dia is Max's right hand. They're always together. He can do what

only what Max— ordered if Max wanted him to be his scapegoat, he would. He won't let Max commit a crime.”.

“He didn't carry a gun that day, I guess,” between Alyx.

“Sure. He was caught using it—traced. And of course, it was Max who then brought it, and almost used it. I don't know what's gonna happen, if the supreme court and the higher-ups find out that Max

almost committed a crime.”

Alyx thought for a moment. “The highest court is definitely in the realm of justice right?”

“Iya.”

“High elders?”

“The elders—like a parent who should be asked for his advice, opinion, or advice, as in a kingdom—they sometimes give orders and citizens carry them out. They're deciders. How an SOS leader should get the approval of the higher-ups on the day of determination.” Jane immediately became excited. “You know, the day of the determination was very stressful. Somehow the officials determine who is the strongest among the candidates, which obviously they know very well who is entitled to be the leader. Several more months—day determination..”

“And Max is one of

candidate?”

“How do you know?”

“As you said.”

“I've said it, well?”

“Kot more like that. Oh yeah, it is,

I see Max is young. It's okay to let someone like him

leading a Country.”

“Ah, you should know how the royal family is educated. They-the candidates—all are descendants of SOS leaders. They were educated in the same sphere, so they competed healthily, I guess. And Max is the grandson of the 59th leader who is now the candidate being talked about. While Max's father is only able to become a former candidate who was defeated by the SOS leader now. That's how I know about Max.”
