SOS

SOS
Chapter 9's

A middle-aged man walked in, carrying two large cantons. What caught Alyx's attention was that the man's head— was not plontos, but his hair was too sparse, so that his scalp could be clearly seen. His body is short and full. Chubby cheeks. He's a sweet guy—like the girl sitting next to Alyx.

“Dad, I thought you weren't coming?” Jane approached her father, helping to bring the canteen to the table.

“Work makes me dizzy, I have to calm down. The weather in the mountains was pretty good, I guess,” muttered and smiled at the girl who had been watching her face. “You're a meticulous person,” he told Alyx.

“What?” Alyx.

“I John Walcott—father Jane.”

“Alexandra. Nice to meet you, Mr. Walcott.” Alyx welcomes Jane's father's hand.

“Iya. Ja. Me either. Just call me John,” said John chuckling. “This isn't actually the first time I've seen you. I used to—not, but it's been a long time, we've met. Surely you won't remember.”

“Sorry.”

“No. Not not your fault. That's because you're so small.” John sat in the chair his daughter had occupied.

“I think I'll explain more clearly,” Jane smiled and stopped when she saw Alyx's face that instantly became serious. “What's wrong with you?”

“What's up?” Alyx asked back.

“Keningmu wrinkle.”

“Sorry,” Alyx tries to calm himself down. He was too excited to hear someone who would not convolve anymore in telling stories.

“Approximately more than twenty years ago,” John tried to recall that day. “How old are you now?”

“Twenty-three,” Alyx replied, briefly.

“Good. Real nice. And you've become a doctor.”

Alyx nodded slowly. “Not long.”

“But, still, if you are still a doctor. What's the contents of that bag?” John's eyes were fixed on the red bag beside the sofa.

Alyx moved his head. Looking at the bag he always carried leaning against the wooden wall. He thought Tom would miss carrying the bag. Alyx.

“You always carry your doctor's equipment?”

“Only some small medical tools. But, I don't use it much.” Alyx put his hand in the bag— like he was looking for something and after he finished he put the bag back carefully.

“No problem. Where's Tom, Jane?”

Jane turned her eyes to the next room.

“I think he became a pretty good friend. So...”

“You haven't told me anything.”

“Slightly impatient, Alyx.”

Alyx is embarrassed.

“The most important part of this story is, I know your parents. So it's not strange that I've seen you as a kid.”

“My parents?” Alyx grunting. “You certainly know a lot about them than I.”

John smiles. “I'm friends with your father first—William.”

For a long time, Alyx had not heard anyone mention that name, not even himself having mentioned it. But every day the name crossed his mind—though he did not know very well how the man looked.

“Not just a friend, but already like a brother. We do still have a family relationship, although it is quite far away, but, still, I am actually still your uncle.” John smiled saying that. “I'm really curious how do you live life? But if I look around, you grow up to be a beautiful and strong girl.”

Alyx blushed shy—just a few jokes, then back his mind became tense.

“As your father said back then—you will grow up to be someone better and have nothing to do with the work he is doing right now. They took you to Indonesia when you were very young.”.

“I grew well in Indonesia,” sela Alyx, “the people there took good care of me. I have a father and brother who are always there for me.”

“Sure. But, you should know, that your father—William has a big share in your growth.”

Alyx thought John was very much on his father's side. “They said that. And I'm trying to accept it.”

“Then you know that your father keeps an eye on you—although from afar.”

“I know and once again try to understand. Then, you certainly know what the reason he never came to see me, even though he was already very close to me.”

John frowned.

“My camera got the picture. He was standing looking at Big Ben, I think he knew about my presence, but unfortunately he didn't see me, just to say hello.”

“Not him unwilling, but he really can't.”

“What do you mean?”

“You've told me about that chip?” ask John to Jane. After seeing the nod of her daughter, she looked back at Alyx's face. “Because it has installed that chip, none of us can know your whereabouts—or rather, close to where you are.”

“For what? What's all that for?”

“Thus, it proves to be a powerful way to keep you away from people who want to harm you. Unfortunately, about two years ago, that hedge was reduced. They begin to suspect that you are really still in this world and start looking for your whereabouts. Fortunately you're always bepegian from one country to another—it makes them dizzy to find the SOS sensor in your body. They think you already know about SOS—'s whereabouts so you're trying to escape.”

“Therefore they did not kill me. And when I found out yesterday that I didn't know anything about SOS, one of them immediately tried to finish me off. If Tom hadn't come back then, I don't know what happened. So now I don't have to worry anymore, don't I already know everything.”

“Can be—a pretty good thinking solution.”

“But I'm quite confused, what's the difference I know or don't know?”

“SOS can find out if someone knows the existence of SOS—it applies if the people talking about it are SOS residents themselves.  When we-or those other SOSs talk about SOS, the sensors in the body will be turned on and detected by the SOS office. You don't know about the existence of SOS and SOS itself does not recognize your presence or has not been detected by the SOS citizenship office. “

“What does he work for SOS?” ask Alyx about his father later.

John shook his head slowly. Not to refute Alyx's question, but to tell him, that not only that. “He's the best,” praise John. Like he admired his best friend. John's cheeks were lifted. Of course he smiled broadly.

“The more I come here, the more I don't know,” said Alyx and curled up on the couch. “But the most important thing I have to know is why a...ku...” Alyx closed his eyes and heard no more sound from him.

“He's a strong boy,” said John walking to the side of the window. And stared at the trees with those tapered leaves.

Jane looked at Alyx's sleeping face with a glare. “So how next?” ask Jane and Tom.

“I don't know what William is doing right now.” John's hand rolled back. “Tom, you better prepare everything. Let no one be missed. We need to get him home soon. Everything should be according to William.”'s plan

Jane's got the car ready outside. Tidying up a place to lay Alyx down. “Are we acting right, Dad?”

John shook his head and a few jokes then nodded.

“Looks like Dad's more unsure of me. I should have just told him all the circumstances that really concern me so much about this.”

“No Jane. We are on the right side. We'll take Alyx away from this place now, before they come.”

Jane went inside for a while. Hinted to Tom that everything was ready. Alyx's belongings have been put in the trunk. Tom briefly looked at Alyx's face and lifted him up. He carried the weakly drooping Alyx into the car.

Tom was sitting behind the wheel. He was ready to drive for a trip that seemed like it would take a long time. Jane sat beside him, occasionally turning to look at Alyx. John had left in his own car.

Tom stopped his car. Instantly the car walked away from the small house with wooden walls. The other Tom certainly needs to keep a secret about their whereabouts on Alyx. As Alyx knew they were in a mountain, but they were not. They were actually on a field. There was only a tree growing next to the window. It is not a native plant either.

All phony. It made Alyx instantly feel like he was indeed being kidnapped. Alyx felt dizzy and knew that he had taken sleeping pills that had been included in his drink. As Tom carried her, he opened his eyes and looked around. And soon realized, they were not in the mountains. But, he did not move, allowing himself to be carried away - no matter where it was.

*

Tom and Jane had already changed seats, as Alyx tried to look at the clock on the dashboard. It's 11:30 p.m. Alyx looked out the window, but it was dark. Even so he knew that he was in the city right now. Almost twelve hours and the people carrying Alyx have not stopped either.

Thirty minutes later. The car stopped when a call came in on Jane's cell phone. And then Alyx thought to get out of the car immediately, if not hear Jane's voice that suddenly changed.

Alyx stayed in place, trying to hear what Jane was talking about. But, Jane doesn't talk anymore, she lets Tom do the talking on the phone.

“You okay?” ask Tom and activate the speakers.

“Iya.” John's voice rang out, “but you can't bring him here. They had expected to bring him to this place. Now I'm in my study and I'm calling you right away. You know what you have to do, Tom?”

“Iya I know.”

Call ended. Tom and Jane looked at each other again.

“What happened?” alyx's voice makes Tom stop and turn along with Jane. Alyx cleared his throat for a moment. His voice was a bit raucous after not speaking for long enough. “I need water.”

Jane pointed at several water bottles in the back seat.

Alyx turned around and took a bottle. Drink a few gulps. Throw the bottle next to him. And looked at Tom's little smiling face for a while. “What's wrong with you? You're trying to get me to sleep for how long?”

Tom came back with his serious facial water. Running the car at a high enough speed.

“You guys are confusing me again. Actually you guys are the ones I should trust or not.”

“We are in the first place,” Jane said with a reassuring face.

“Then why are you trying to put me to sleep?”

“Empress? You max you're not asleep?”

“Liquid insomnia?” ask Tom later.

“You know that? well, some people call it that. And I injected it earlier, after knowing you gave me sleeping pills in a very good way. I did feel very sleepy at first and actually almost fell asleep, but the medicine instantly spread. And I stay awake.”

“I'm sorry,” said Tom with great regret. “But we mean to take you to lab.”

“Of course it's not because I woke up you guys didn't go to the first place we're going.”

“There is a little problem.”

“But what does that have to do with putting me to sleep with the lab. whom we were going to?”

“There is a translation chip in your body..” Jane stops. It seems he has leaked something that he did not

it should have been told to Alyx.

“Look at you, you are too honest,” said Tom and kept his eyes on the road ahead of him.

“What is Jane?” Alyx would rather ask Jane now. Jane seems like a very honest person— can't

keeping a secret.

“It's a chip that translates your voice or the voices of those around you, passing it on to someone who planted that chip on you.”

“It looks like Ed planted that chip while in your apartment. When he realized my arrival, he immediately stuck it around your neck,” Tom added Jane's sentence. There is no point in keeping it secret, while there is also someone who tries to tell everything.

“How is it possible?”

“You should know that the chip we're talking about isn't like the one you're seeing a lot of, but a chip that's smaller than you think. Of course you don't feel that the chip is in your neck.”

Alyx touched his neck. “Then..”

“We'll try to open it by taking you to the lab, but they know first. Everything your brain receives, flows into those chips, and gets delivered to them. I'm sure you heard everything we talked about, you didn't understand, but Max understood.”

“You put me to sleep so as not to send messages unconsciously to them.”

“You understand quickly.”

“What should I do now?”

“I don't think you'll be able to fall asleep again. I just don't have to explain to you about the place we're headed. And you try to think about something else now. I don't think they've noticed that we're not heading to the lab right now. Proof they're still waiting for you.”

“What does he want from me?”

“I don't know, Alexandra. I'm only in charge of protecting you right now.”
