SOS
Chapter 25's

ALEXANDRA placed her foot in the middle of the small animals. They were vying to climb on Alyx's shoes, but it was my butterflies who first settled there.

Alyx. “Sama,” said Alyx realized it was the same animal. He let her fly and then ducked. “You happy?” tanyakanya.

Jane looked at her best friend and smiled. “Are you happy, Alyx?”

Alyx turned around and looked at Jane. Smilingly.

“May you be a leader more than your mother.”

Alyx sighed and leaned back. Upturned. Look at the slow moving clouds. “Do not the higher-ups have to decide?”

“Final determination. But since you are the first candidate, and compared to Max—he is nothing, he can only use his standing to make something move— I think they will drop the choice on you.” Jane cleared her throat, prepared to say something, but then kept quiet.

“What's up?” Alyx. As there was no answer, he continued, “but, Jane, some people told me to

to careful. What do you think is gonna happen? Is someone planning to shift me?”

Jane bent her head. His words were not very clear because his head was bent very deeply.

Alyx sneered. And a moment later, he realized something was coming towards them very quickly.

His hand responds to catching the thing that almost hit Jane's face.

Alyx looked at the needle in his hand. Thinking for a moment. I feel like he's seen this thing.

*

Alyx in the restroom at the moment. Washing hands. He can catch sounds from outside. In Jane's living room, there's already a host John and his father William. They are debating something. While Jane, Alyx knew that his best friend was pacing in front of the family room. After feeling clean, Alyx came out and found Jane with a face so different from usual.

Jane walked back and forth in front of the door. His hand is in the crumbs. His face was worried. However, upon noticing Alyx's presence, he smiled.

“You're done, I was just about to get into ka..”

Alyx pulls Jane's hand. “What's up?”

“Nothing.”

Alyx looked at him sharply. It was obvious that Jane, who could not hide her expression, was hiding something.

Jane's face then weakened. Implied sadness on her tiny face. He lowered his head. And made her hair cover her face.

“I think there is a rebellion going on,” he almost cried saying that when Alyx and he were in his room.

Alyx didn't know what to say. For him such rebellion is not a problem, but why girls

in front of him, he should feel sad.

“Alyx,” murmured Jane.

“Is there anything else you want to say? I'm a good listener type,” said Alyx and touched Jane's hand.

“You remember about the rebellion that I told you before.”

Alyx nodded. Jane told me about it when they were at Tom's house.

“A few years ago, when he was a child, a fortune teller once came to our house.”

Alyx had no idea what the fortune teller had to do with Jane's intended rebellion. But as a good listener. He tried to hear everything he said.

“He half yelled. Therefore, we could hear it from inside and get out right away. She's a woman of stature

short and thin, his fingers were also thin, but a little long, it was strange to see his body that was only as tall as mine when he was twelve. He was standing in front of the gate, his head could have been put between the gates so tiny he was.

“She said, ‘one of them will be a troublemaker. Traitor—because He. Even killers.

Stop the. Stop the. The Russell family did not know it was lucky. You little miss’, she pointed at me and grinned. Very scary. Moments later, she left, and we didn't see her again,” though low, Jane's voice was excited.

“We—aku, father, or mother, even our workers, have never heard of someone cursing at a family so distinguished as the Russells. He was the first. When father approached to see the woman, she had already disappeared.” Jane looked up at Alyx who was still faithful to hear it.

“A few days after that, precisely in the night of the decider, a woman came again, with a face that

you must know—dia Amaris. He asked us about the woman and it was Amaris who told us about the woman who was a soothsayer— like himself. Amaris then told him about his search into the future, and smiled when he said there would be an uprising.

“I grimaced back then. Asked why Amaris smilingly said it—but he didn't tell me further.

Even the newspapers that later told more about the rebellion in SOS. A few years passed, it was rare to talk about this matter. And today I'm back to hearing it.”

“Who said it?” ask Alyx.

“Uncle William.”

“Really? I'll ask him.”

“Do not,” Jane pulled Alyx and made him sit back in front of her. “He doesn't want you to know.”

“Why?”

Jane shakes.

“What because of the astrologer's word. Does that mean someone she meant was me?”

Jane shakes. Doubtful. “You and Tom are good people—I doubt that it's between you.”

“It's good. Then Max. He who just shot the poisoned needle?”

Jane shrugged her shoulders.

“I once got a needle like that while in Indonesia. Isn't it just Max's family that's trailing

my whereabouts. Even Max blatantly shows his father's subordinates.” No response from Jane, Alyx again asked, “ really you have nothing to hide?”

Jane shook her head for sure.

“Then, we will ask someone who is an expert.”

“Who? Amaris?”

“Why Amaris? Didn't he just smile when he said that, I don't think he knew much either. More

well we ask my mom.”

“Leader Aldachberta?”

“Sure. Come onl. You can drive, right?”

Jane walked quickly to be able to walk beside Alyx who stepped on a long ladder.

“Where are you going?” william asked when he heard the rush through the door of the room where he and John were. He jumped out of his chair and out of the room. But too late, the two girls had left. “Looks like he's going to the main building,” William told John.

*

Alyx opened his eyes and found himself in one of the rooms he had been in. White and green. He touched his head. And make an unclear sound. Her voice is raucous.

His gaze then turned on a man who had just opened the door. The man was wearing a white outer shirt. Alyx knew he must be a doctor. But, then as he approached, he recognized the man as Hiro.

Hiro approached Alyx and gave him a glass of water. “You okay?”

Alyx nodded and touched his neck.

“Are you sure?”

“I'm also a doctor and I know what happened to me—except that time,” he said shut up for a while. “So... Are you a doctor at this clinic? Uh, where's Jane? She's fine right, I shouldn't have made her drive at night.”

Hiro smiled. Not believing when looking at Alyx's nature. “There's more you want to ask?”

Alyx grabbed the blanket and got out of bed.

“Where are you going?”

Alyx turned. “Of course meet...”.

“Jane is not here.”

“So he wasn't hurt, right? Ah sure Uncle John has brought her home. I'm gonna go see my dad and I'm gonna

he met Jane at her house. Alright I per..”

“Jane is also not at his home.”

*

Alyx ran out of the clinic and started walking towards the main building which is quite a distance away by foot. But it would be better for him, he thought. During the walk he would think about the incident last night. What happened happened so that he could be in the hospital when he opened his eyes. It was just that the more he thought about it, the more his head throbbed in pain.

She doesn't remember what happened to her and Jane who drove the car last night. Did an accident happen? But where is Jane now?

Alyx's feet were moving faster. A short while later, he had arrived in front of the main building gate. Soon he's in. He had to pass through the middle of the room to get to his mother's room.

Before he entered the corridor leading to the leader's room, a woman came out from the middle room door and intercepted Alyx.

“I have to go to my mom's room now, Amaris.”

“You're looking for someone?” ask Amaris in a flat voice. There was no smile from his face like a witty smile that was usually always on his round face.

“Yeah, that's it.”

“A man?”

“What? No, but..”

“This bracelet.” Amaris touched Alyx's wrist. “Give him?”

“Nick?” muttered Alyx. “What do you mean, Amaris? Can you say more clearly.”

“Dia at SOS.”

“Ah, how could she be here?”

“At least you should see her before she leaves for ever.”

Alyx bit his lips, his eyes looking right and left. Think about something and remember about SOS products.

“Dia in the laboratory.”

Alyx, who was about to meet his mother, turned around.

After Alyx, Amaris fell. Some who saw him immediately helped him. Amaris fainted—they

while behind the wall heading towards the corridor, a man had just turned around and left.

In the garden of the main building, Alyx ran small and stopped when he saw a small car on the side of the road.

Just a car frame and a seat. He didn't see anyone there—to ask permission to borrow it for a while—so he immediately put it on. From behind the rearview mirror of the doorless car, Alyx could see the owner of the car looking for his lost car.

Before long, he had arrived and entered William's room which immediately led him to the laboratory to see the state of the man Amaris had intended.

“No?” Alyx almost shouted as the laboratory guard for SOS outsiders said no

there's a guy named Nick there. Alyx sat down and thought for a while.

“What exactly is it, Alyx?” ask William.

“Amaris says my friend is here. What did he say that for?” he murmured and a few other words.

Even William who was in front of him did not understand what else his daughter said after that.

“Jane. Dad, do you know where Jane is?”

“I've sent some people to look for him.”

“Dad...” if Alyx had not been used to holding back his tears he might have been crying by now. Although

so, his voice sounded vibrating. “What happened last night? Why don't I remember anything?”

William shook his head and immediately guided Alyx out. They then went to Walcott's house.

Once there, Alyx doesn't say much, he's afraid he'll be blamed for Jane's disappearance. After all, he was thinking hard now—well about Jane, Amaris—who gave him the wrong information, and also his good friend, Nick—he had not contacted him for a long time.

“Alyx... Alyx.

“Iya.”

John's voice resuscitated him. “Drink while still warm.”

Alyx looked at the glass in front of him. His hand that was about to take it was pulled back into his lap. He's down. “I'm sorry, uncle.”

“No. It's not your fault. It's just..” John hasn't finished his sentence, he stopped and turned to the door that just opened. He immediately jumped up and hugged the girl.

Alyx turned around and found Jane with an expressionless face. He was just about to approach her, but, seconds later, Jane had fallen unconscious.

*

Jane opened her eyes and found Alyx turning her back to her— who was staring out the window. For a while, he looked at Alyx's back. No sound from him. A voice that would make Alyx scream

the pleasure of knowing himself is conscious. Unfortunately, his mouth was locked tightly—though Alyx had turned around and seen his eyes that immediately narrowed as Alyx flicked the curtains.

“Sorry,” says Alyx and immediately pulls back the white curtains. “You okay?”

Jane replied with a small nod and drowned her head in the blanket.

“I'll call uncle John.”

“No,” the sound is small, but immediately make Alyx understand that his friend does not want to be disturbed.

“Then, it will come out. If you need anything, you just need.”.

“Ehm,” Jane's voice from under the covers is heard again.

Alyx immediately felt that he was not wanted in that place. He came out and joined the others. Alyx

sighing time and time again, made William and John who were talking, turn and look at it together.

“Dad, I want to see mom,” said Alyx and have prepared.

William seemed to think for a while and agreed to his daughter's request. After saying goodbye, they left immediately.

“What's up?” william asked when the car was moving. He had to repeat his question to resuscitate Alyx.

And there was no answer from him. It was just a paddle that William hadn't seen either. Alyx's mind was

drifting away. There's a lot he thinks about. There's a lot of things he wants to know. And none of the answers he found.

“A few more days of announcements regarding the replacement of the leader,” said William who was heard clearly by Alyx.

Alyx's view is only directed out of the car's glass. He knows that and it is useless if he refuses at this time.

*

William and Alyx have arrived at the main building. William immediately went to the laboratory, while Alyx had walked into the room. He was going to look for Amaris, but his face was nowhere to be seen. He immediately thought of something good about one of the SOS' higher-ups, there was no way Amaris would do something as annoying as yesterday. It was possible that what he saw was the future that would happen—and if it was like that, he would have to meet Nick soon.

The door opened, before Alyx pushed it. But it was not he who made it open, but Abel who

sitting behind his desk reading a document. The glasses were taken off as Alyx walked in and stood in front of his desk.

“Sit down and wait a minute.”

Alyx obeyed his mother's wishes and sat down on the sofa. His head rested on the shoulder of the sofa and looked up at the ceiling

the carved-beautiful.

Abel had tidied up the documents on his desk and moved beside his daughter.

“You know everything, mom?”

Alyx's question, made Abel smile. He shut up a few jokes.

Since there was no answer from him, Alyx straightened his back and looked at his mother's face.

“What happened exactly? What's wrong with me or Jane? She doesn't even want to see my face.” Alyx's face was sunk into his palm.

“The ancestor of Russell was a lifesaver,” Abel said suddenly.

Alyx raised his face. And instantly frowned.

“Nobody knows about this. This story only develops in fellow Russell— family and heart chip holder.”
