Chapters. 41. Expecting Something Uncertain.
At the same time, Aidan was in his study while checking some files that should be reported to his superiors.
Several times Aidan glanced towards the clock that was coiled around his wrist. It had been since the morning he was waiting for news from the superior, but until the afternoon his superior did not also call him into the room.
"What's going on? Rosa said today I'll be called to the Director's office for a handover, but why wasn't I called too?"
Aidan slammed the file in his hand violently. He walked out of the room to ask his boss.

"Who?"
Aidan knocked on the door of the room and immediately heard a voice from inside the room. "I'm Aidan, sir. Can I come in?"
"Come in."
Aidan then opened the door of the room and went in to meet someone, looking at the middle-aged man raising his head to look at him.
"I'm sorry if I'm interrupting, sir. I'd just like to ask you something."
The middle-aged man nodded and invited Aidan to sit down. "What do you want to ask, right?" He got rid of some of the files that were in front of him.
"Sorry sir, I would like to ask about the promotion that you told me about. Shouldn't I have gone up in office after completing a new product launch?"
The middle-aged man frowned when he heard Aidan's words. "Did the Director not call you into his room yet?"
Aidan immediately shook his head, but on the other hand he felt relieved when he heard the superior's words.
"That means I'm really up for office, just waiting for a call from the Director." A wide smile was clearly visible on Aidan's current face.
"Attent."
The middle-aged man directly picked up the phone handle to contact someone, making Aidan speechless while looking at him.
After speaking to someone behind the phone, the middle-aged man then turned off his call and stared intently at Aidan.
"The director should have told you this, but he told Arif's secretary that I would tell you."
Deg.
Aidan's heart was racing when he heard the middle-aged man's words. Happiness soared in his chest that he made his face beaming with a big smile.
"Sorry, Aidan. Director cancels the promotion for you."
"W-what?"
Aidan who was impatient to hear the words of the superior immediately jumped in shock. Of course he was very surprised because the middle-aged man's words did not match what he expected.
"A-What do you mean, sir? W-why-" Aidan could not continue as the middle-aged man stood up from the chair. He then stood up and looked at the superior with a pus.
"The plan of your promotion at that time was not final, and only became a matter of consideration. So things like this are common."
Aidan was stunned and looked at the middle-aged man in disbelief. How could all this happen? Why did the director not raise his position?
"It's all clear, isn't it? Now go back to your room, there's a lot of work I have to do."
The middle-aged man took the file on the table and led it out to the Director's room.
"How could all this have happened, sir? Isn't this very unprofessional?"
"The company should not do something like this to its employees. I work well and professionally, but why is it treated so unfairly?"
"You, what did you say?"
The middle-aged man looked at Aidan sharply. How dare that man say that to her?
"I'll talk to the Director."
Aidan immediately moved out of the room across the Director's room. He couldn't just let this injustice go, let alone he already said he would rise to office on everyone.
Arriving in front of the Director's room, Aidan immediately met with Arif's secretary and asked for permission to meet with the Director.
"The director's not being disturbed, so just tell him what you want to say."
Aidan nodded his head and immediately said his goal was to meet the Director, not forgetting about the discussion of his promotion a few weeks ago.
"In accordance with what Rizal said earlier if you do not rise to office. The director didn't tell you straight away, did he? So there's no official decision yet on all that."
Aidan smiled with a smile. What Arif said was the same as the middle-aged man said earlier, and how could they possibly play tricks on him like this?
"Sorry, Sir. I have to meet the Director in person."
Aidan remains keen to talk directly with the Director, he believes if something is going wrong at this time.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Arif."
In the midst of the tension, suddenly came a man who made Aidan and Arif immediately turn to the door.
"Tu-Tuan Zafran?"
Arif immediately stood up from the chair when he saw the arrival of Zafran, while Aidan just remained silent while staring at the man sharply and hatefully.
"I'm sorry if I'm interrupting, sir. Can I meet with Director Surya?" zafran asked who was immediately answered with a nod of Arif's head.
"Of course, sir. Come, I'll take you to his room."
Aidan clenched his hands tightly upon hearing Arif's words, how could the man let Zafran in while he wasn't?
Zafran nodded his head with a faint smile, he then turned around and stepped his feet without the slightest intention of looking towards Aidan.
"Wait a minute!"
Zafran and Arif who had already reached the door turned their heads towards Aidan upon hearing the man's words.
Aidan himself walked up to Zafran with a gaze that was difficult to decipher. Of course he felt very emotional about what was happening at the moment.
"It turns out all this is because of what you did, yes. It's worth it that I feel like something's not right, apparently you're playing sneaky here."
