Ryder was silent at her place when she heard her father's words, while Adena looked at her husband in disbelief. He quickly approached Eric and stood beside the man.
"What, aren't you wrong, honey? This, this is not-"
"Roll!"
Adena's words were forced to stop when Eric shouted to call Rolan, he sighed harshly because it seemed like the man's decision could not be contested anymore.
Rolan walked into the room when he heard the master's cry. "Yes, Sir?"
"Tell all my business colleagues, and all the big, medium, even small entrepreneurs. If they dare to help the man, or quietly extend a hand, then I will destroy their lives without mercy."
Deg.
The words that Eric made really felt pierced Adena's chest to make her body weak, she was forced to hold on to the table so as not to stagger to the floor.
Rolan glanced at Ryder with a glare, while Ryder himself remained silent and had no intention of refuting or resisting the papa.
"Good, Sir." Rolan nodded his head, and was forced to carry out orders from the master.
"Take care of the community or whatever it is that has ruined my son's mind without rest" Eric ordered, and Ryder immediately raised his head, and looked at the father sharply.
"Okay, Tu-"
"Please don't touch that community, Pa." Ryder cupped her hands together in front of her chest making Eric smile cynically. For the first time she pleaded with her father so as not to interfere with the work of her friends.
"You're still, yeah." Eric clenched both hands furiously as he got out of the chair, making Adena instantly panic at the look of anger on her husband's face. "You think you still have the right to beg me, huh?" He stood right in front of Ryder, now their eyes were staring at each other intently.
"I know that I have no rights, and I accept them all. If Papa wants me to stay on the street, then I will. Even if Papa asks me to die, I will do it as a redemption for the wrong I have done." Lirih Ryder's. His face stared firmly, even though his current state was very alarming.
"But please don't touch them, Pa. That job is my friends' life, and I can't-"
"I don't care!" Cut Eric sharply and with emphasis. "I've been silent for a long time and I've given you freedom, but all of that has made you into a senseless savage*human. So don't ask me anything more, 'cause I won't hold back." It was clear the seriousness of Eric's words that he would no longer forgive them.
Adena walked slowly and stood in the middle between her husband and her son, she did not want any more fighting between them.
"That's enough. You two, stop all this" said Adena quietly. His hoarse voice indicated that he was holding back a cry.
"Alright, just do everything Papa wants. But I'll keep my friends' jobs" Ryder replied undaunted by her papa's remarks.
"Enough, Ryder. Shut the fuck up!" snapped Adena with a dead red face. No, if Ryder keeps talking, then Eric will completely ruin their own son's life.
Eric looked at Ryder with considerable anger, but the man could have remained adamant about defending something that had made this matter happen.
"Well, if you don't want me to touch them, then I won't" Eric said, turning around and looking at her. "Rolan, put a report on women's trade and slavery into the police station. Let's see, what punishment is appropriate for his friends."
Deg.
Ryder clenched both of her hands tightly upon hearing her papa's words. The anger was clearly visible on his face, with veins protruding around his neck.
Ryder speechless. No, he couldn't let the police interfere or his friends would rot in jail. However, he also could not let his papa destroy them.
"Si*d. I really can't fight papa." Ryder rubbed her face violently. Frustrated sighs rang out from her mouth, making Adena stare wistfully.
Ryder took a deep breath, then exhaled violently. He looked at his father to answer his decision.
"All right, just destroy the place. But don't touch my friends" Ryder said in a heavy, restrained voice.
Eric laughed when he heard it. "Okay, now go. I don't want to see your face anymore." He turned and looked at the window.
"Dear." Adena hugged her husband's arms tightly. "Darling, I beg you not-"
"One word I hear you defend him, then I'll kill your son, Adena!"
Deg.
Adena was stunned when she heard the cold words stabbing her husband. His mouth immediately fell silent stiff, with his chest pounding full of pain and disappointment.
"If I'm sorry Pa, Ma" Ryder nodded her head, sending Adena running to get to her.
"My son, huhuhu." Adena hugged her son tightly, and was met with a gentle swipe from Ryder.
"I'm fine, Ma." Ryder tries to calm him down.
"Just in case you're okay, Ryder. Mama, mama will talk to your father, he must be just an emotion for a moment" Adena said as she broke her arms, and looked at the son with sadness.
"I understand, Ma." Ryder then kissed the mother on the forehead, and passed out of the room.
Adena covered her mouth with both hands while sobbing softly, she did not expect that any of this would happen in her family.
"Why, why would you do all this to your own son, Eric? I know she made a mistake, but what you did really ruined her life and friendship" Adena said sobbing.
"If I don't do it, then your son's life will be gone,"
"W-what?"
