The Dragon Lord System

The Dragon Lord System
DLS - 129

We approached the entrance gate to the human city guarded by two human guards.

At that time, it was clear that there were a number of human visitors who had to show their identity cards to the two guards before being allowed into the human city.

Me, Sebas, and Lithos were getting closer to the gate, and now it was our turn to show our identities in order to enter.

However, of course, we do not have a human identity card, considering we are Monsters that can be said to be dangerous from the dungeon's underground world hidden from humans.

This will be one of our first challenges to integrate with the people of this city.

As we approached the guards, I whispered to Sebas and Lithos, "We must pretend to be ordinary humans. Don't show us our strength unless necessary. We have to adapt to the way they live if we want to find out more about Merrli and their world."

Sebas and Lithos nodded, though looked not too happy with their new roles.

Panic shrouded my heart as I drew closer to the human guard, that I and Lithos did not have the human identity cards necessary to enter the city.

As dragons, since our reincarnation in this world, we have never needed an identity card like humans.

When I was almost desperate, Sebas quickly approached the two human guards. With a serious face, he told them about our situation.

"Good morning to you two honorable guards. We really need your help" Sebas said with a concerned expression. "

My father, my servant, and I, are currently on their way to this Arbandir town to report that we have just been robbed by a group of bandits. They managed to steal a lot of our securities, including our identity papers."

The two human guards listened seriously, and Sebas played his part very convincingly. This was a very subtle lie, one that earned the three of us sympathy from them.

The two human guards standing before us, looked on with incredulous and cynical gazes.

However, when their gaze fell on me, it was clearly astonished. They looked at me with expressions that spoke of disbelief.

I understand why they look surprised.

My height, especially in the form of a dragonoid, is striking to humans.

In this form, my height reached 2.5 meters, making me much larger than an average human who was far below my chest.

Meanwhile, Lithos had a higher posture than an ordinary human, about 180 cm tall, slightly taller than the two human guards standing in front of us.

Sebas confidently spoke the words and pointed at me as his father.

I just smiled, because I was used to being called "father" by my son. We know that our physical appearance is unusual, but right now, we only hope to be able to enter this human city without any problems.

Lithos, who was in human form, was visibly angry when Sebas called him a "servant."

His angry expression wanted to explode, but the sharp look from my eyes made him hold back, albeit with anxiety.

Sebas cleverly took some gold coins from his pocket and gave them to the two human guards guarding the gate.

He explained that we were victims of a robbery and begged that we be allowed in.

The two guards looked surprised by the sudden award of 10 gold coins. Greed flashed in their eyes, and they quickly gave us permission to enter.

One of the human guards nodded and said, "It's a pity to hear that. Please log in, and later you can report this event to the city authorities. Hope your problem is solved soon."

I let out a sigh of relief for successfully convincing the gatekeeper, and the three of us stepped into the human city called Arbandir.

We are ready to continue our mission, and I hope everything will go smoothly.

As we entered, I felt many sharp gazes from the humans watching the three of us, especially me.

This was a reasonable reaction considering the appearance of my armor and height which were very striking among humans.

I couldn't help but smile as I rubbed Sebas' head and praised him for his important role in securing entry to this human city.

"Good job, Sebas!"

Sebas smiled happily at the compliment, and he quickly replied, "No, Dad, I know that Dad's been planning everything from the beginning."

I laughed softly, enjoyed the moment and smiled behind the protective helmet that covered my face, then continued on my way.

Lithos, apparently still annoyed with Sebas, rolled his eyes in a crisp manner.

Then, I stopped stroking Sebas' head and gave him a new assignment.

"Free, you will lead the way to the Adventurers Guild. You've lived in this human city long enough before returning to my dungeon, so you must know the way."

Sebas enthusiastically nodded, feeling pleased to get this responsibility.

I'm sure he'll run it well. In silence, we continued our journey towards the Adventurers Guild in the human city of Arbandir.

As we continued on, sebas leading the way, I could not help but notice the boisterous activity around.

The merchants tried to sell a wide variety of goods, from foods such as skewered meat to fresh fruits.

There is also a weapons kiosk selling complete adventurous gear, complete with eager merchants inviting customers to buy.

However, what was more striking was the adventurers who walked around us.

I felt their sharp gazes as they passed by us, probably wondering about who we were.

However, what really disgusts me is seeing the practice of slavery that still seems to be legal and accepted in this world.

I couldn't hide my disgust at seeing humans treated like merchandise.

It reminds me of the dark side of the world we live in, where humans still treat their neighbors so cruelly.

I looked with disgust and anger that culminated in what was happening in the distance.

Thanks to my eyes, and the sharp hearing of my dragon I can see and hear it clearly even from a distance.

A thin woman who seemed to be starving, her neck and hands bound by chains, looked resigned with empty and hollow eyes.

Next to him, a cruel man, the slave-seller, holding a whip in his hand, was ready to punish the woman if she did not obey his orders.

The man ordered the young woman to use her magic, but the woman seemed too weak and limp to do so, probably due to such severe hunger.

The man became angry and mercilessly whipped the young woman, forcing her to cry out in pain.

A look of anger and hatred filled my eyes as I watched this cruel act.

My heart and instincts as a human are still attached to me and continue to roil even though I have become a dragon with incredible strength and have the ability of [Supressor] which is supposed to dampen emotions.

However, my human nature, like compassion and the urge to help, remains.

Seeing the young lady being whipped mercilessly by that cruel man, I felt indignant. Although I tried to restrain myself, annoyed words came out of my mouth, "FUCK!" The voice only sounded in my heart, but my hand involuntarily clenched tightly, as if I wanted to run towards the man and end the atrocity he had committed.

But before long, unwittingly, my murderous aura started to come out.

Sebas, who was near me, felt it. The look of fear and horror in his eyes was so clearly legible.

Lithos remained calm and did not seem to be bothered by the murderous aura coming out of me, instead he seemed happy to see me angry.

He even smiled with satisfaction, probably thinking that I would try to destroy this city and slaughter the humans.

He also thought that I hated humans as much as he did.

In an excited tone, he asked, "So, do you want to destroy this city?, if yes of course I will help you my friend," a grinning smile emanated from his human face.

I quickly regained consciousness and relaxed my murderous emotions and aura.

Calmly, I answered Lithos, "Hmm, certainly not." Those words made Lithos' spirit dim and his expression turned to a frown.

Of course, I have no intention of destroying this city.

Although there are many disturbing things in this world, I will not let my emotions affect my actions right now.

Sebas stopped leading the way and approached worriedly, offering a break.

However, I refused firmly, saying to him, "No need, Sebas. Let's continue the journey and before that..."

I did not finish my sentence, immediately stepped towards the young lady who was in the iron cage, crying and looking very miserable.

I entered the slave-selling tent steadily, followed by Sebas and Lithos.

I approached the frightened young lady and asked, "Do you want to be free?" His frightened expression was clear.

The woman trembled, afraid of the possibility of being whipped by her salesman.

Tension filled the air, and what decision I would take was on the verge of questioning.

"Jawab, stupid boy!" the slave-selling man shouted while whipping the woman once more, making her cry and scream in fear.

As the man prepared to whip the woman once more, I shouted furiously, "STOP!" I immediately moved towards the man quickly and decisively snatched the whip from his hand, stopping him in an instant.

The slave-selling man looked at me with an annoyed expression. "Can you let go of your hand?" he said in an impatient tone.

At this moment, what choice I would make became a big question mark.

"I'll buy it, so you can stop whipping it," I said firmly to the slave-selling man while breaking his whip with a firm hand.

Clack...

Back then, the slave-selling man seemed pleased with my offer to buy the young lady.

He smiled at me, as if I were his most precious source of income.

However, his excitement soon dissipated as he said to me in a dismissive tone, "Are you sure, Mister? In my opinion, this slave is useless and unworthy of use. There are still many better than this woman."

I felt angry to hear it, and without hesitation, I raised his neck with one hand, as if to strangle him.

My eyes emitted a deep anger as I said, "You dare to call this woman useless and unworthy of use? You're a real human bastard!"

I know that in this world, slaves are often treated cruelly, but I will not allow this injustice to continue before me.
