The Dragon Lord System

The Dragon Lord System
S3 - Lowly Insects "1"

Slowly, my eyes opened. The warm welcome from this giant soft mattress made me want to go back to grab my sleep...

"You gotta get up, Calliga!" I muttered to myself, trying to defeat the lazy temptation that was approaching me.

But, behind that laziness, came the memories of good dreams and quality sleep that I had just felt...

"Hooamm," a reality felt so compelling as a yawning sound slipped from my lips as I squirmed from this giant bed.

This bed really makes me comfortable. Even so, I knew I could not continue to be trapped in the warmth of this bed.

Suddenly, a notification sound from the system stopped my laziness.

...[.DING DONG!]...

...[.CONGRATULATIONS! HOST CALLIGA MANAGES TO DEFEAT THE INTRUDERS IN THE HOST DUNGEON]...

...[.HOST GETS 100 SYSTEM POINTS]...

Of course, a spontaneous reaction came from my lips, "INVESTIGATOR?!" a voice that almost broke my eardrum.

However, an unexpected voice followed my words, it came from next to me, "Right, Father."

Suddenly, my eyes turned towards the voice, finding Vael kneeling beside the giant bed I was sleeping in.

He continued lightly, "As per Father's orders, I am ordering Karina to get rid of the intruders quickly. So, don't worry, Dad."

Vael's wide smile was engraved on his face as he conveyed the message.

Since when do I give orders?

I didn't even know there was an intruder...

But Vael undaunted, he continued in excitement, "Really, Dad, even when you rest, you can still identify the intruder and give the order carefully. You're amazing, Dad!" He said in awe, his face shining and he knelt down in an admirable manner of reverence.

I'm flabbergasted. Is he really talking seriously? Did I really order it while I was asleep? Or is this just a joke from Vael? I was caught in a deepening confusion.

Not knowing what to respond to, I just fell silent, staring at each other with Vael. In this silence, I felt like we were engaged in a strange fight of gazes.

Awkward, really. However, as always, I can only deal with it with a dragon-like facial expression that always looks serious.

Ah, it's lucky I'm no longer human; at least, my stupid expression will no longer be as legible as it once was...

The sound of knocking shook the room, disturbing my awkwardness with Vael who was fixated on his admiration. The knock grew louder, as if demanding my attention.

The sound of a giant knock on the door in my room was clearly heard.

Geck...

Geck...

Geck...

Vael who was still glued in awe, finally reacted to hearing the voice. He moved swiftly begging me for permission to open the door and see who was coming.

I just gave a short nod without saying a word.

Vael got up from his kneeling position respectfully, then went towards the giant door of my room.

The door was opened steadily by Vael, and I could see from a distance that Karina and Luna were coming.

They seemed to have the intention to meet me in my room. But what intrigued me was the reason behind the large egg held by Luna with both of her tiny hands.

At that time, the three – Vael, Karina, and Luna – were immediately in a position facing me respectfully.

They humbled themselves and knelt before me, as if to show their respect.

My gaze slid from one face to the other as they knelt down, and inwardly, I could not help but grimly smile.

Sometimes, it feels exhausting. Did they really feel that kneeling down and saluting before me was something they had to do every time we met?

Truly, I am not like a king who deserves to be honored in this way at all times. I just want a more relaxed and familiar atmosphere.

I have tried to tell them not to always be too formal, but it seems that they still maintain this habit.

Of course, I once told them not to be too formal and kneel before me. But apparently, they felt that this action was a sign of respect for their great and noble creator.

I know that they do it as a sign of appreciation, but sometimes I want them to be able to feel comfortable talking and interacting with me without the need to kneel.

It seemed that the three of them were still bowing their heads in a kneeling manner, as if waiting for me to give directions.

However, what surprised me was the incredible calm that came from Luna. Normally, he was always spoiled and chatty, but this time was silent a thousand languages. It seems like he might be bored or even exhausted.

"Bless your heads" I commanded in a firm voice.

Without hesitation, the two of them raised their heads and looked at me attentively.

I continued to order them to speak, "Speak," I said, wanting to hear why they had come.

However, before they could speak, suddenly my gaze was distracted by a strange movement in front of me.

Some small beetles seemed to be approaching me with disgusted steps.

"Insects" came out unconsciously from my mouth, louder than I expected.

Damnit... I sat down, flabbergasted again...

I looked at the three of them and saw their expressions. Karina grinned wickedly, while Luna and Vael looked ordinary.

Just then Karina proudly announced that she had finished off the lowly insects that were trying to enter, I felt relieved. At least my house is free of these disgusting creatures.

However, my focus instantly shifted when Karina ordered Luna to use her floating magic.

I watched with wonder the three human bodies floating in the air thanks to Luna's floating magic.

Just then, a suddenly tense atmosphere broke the calmness.

I was shocked to see Karina take out three dead bodies.

The three bodies floated slowly after being removed from the storage dimensional space by Karina.

NANIIE?!!!!

The sight I was experiencing made me feel nauseous.

First, my eyes were fixed on the body of a man who was split into two halves, with his abdominal organs coming out slowly as the corpse floated in the air.

The horror grew even more when I saw the other two corpses – a man and a woman – whose body seemed to be drying out, filled with huge cuts and scratches.

The bodies looked like shapeless patches of flesh, gaping-looking scars and terrible-looking large wounds.

My breath's choked. I've never seen such cruelty before, this scene is more terrifying than anything I've ever seen in my life.

The condition of the three corpses summoned a shadow of discomfort and horror in my heart, feeling as if I was looking into a terrifying and dark world.

"Really, this is really terrible." I murmured with mixed feelings.

This is my first experience seeing a human corpse that died in such brutal conditions.

My eyes glued to those bodies, trying to understand what had happened.

I pondered and, realizing that what karina said as 'insects' turned out to refer to humans.

Is it really Karina and Luna who did all this? My mind wandered with disbelief.

In my confusion, my eyes were fixed on the three human corpses lying sadistically.

The wounds and signs of cruelty they experienced were clearly depicted on their bodies.

The nauseous feeling came over, but I tried to endure it so hard that I did not want to damage my image in front of them.

"Ueghhh," I sighed slowly, trying hard to resist the threatening vomiting.

While watching me struggle with nausea, Karina still smiled happily in front of me. His eyes sparkled like he was expecting a compliment from me.

"Dad don't worry, I know you must be looking for the two remaining insects, the two lowly insects I've killed also the father so that it is not shaped anymore" said Karina proudly, her smile implying confidence in her success.

Hearing Karina's words, a question popped into my mind.

There's more? And the two human remains are out of shape?

However, that thought was immediately replaced by nausea when I realized that a being that had been treated in such a way that was 'shapeless' must have been more terrifying than I had seen on a floating body.

"That means it's more horrible than I thought," I murmured in my heart, my eyes still fixed on those horrible corpses.

However, when I was about to reach the cusp of my nauseous feelings, I found it hard to hold it in for longer.

"Ueeeghhh," I sighed softly, trying my hardest so that they did not realize my limitations in this situation.

Somehow, this unexpected event happened.

I soon realized that some small beetle insects had suddenly flashed and entered my nose.
