The Dungeon Master's
Chapter 33 - The Assault

Both sides have completed their strategy. Now only the sword and spear will speak and determine the direction of the battle.

Among the Merchant Federation's soldiers there was also a Player who received a Quest to defeat as many enemy troops as possible. The reward of the mission was calculated from how many enemies they killed. No wonder so many players join this team.

After hearing that the enemy sent a lowly goblin as an army, the players could not stop to laugh. They joined forces to attack the forests of the Eastern region to slaughter as many goblins as possible.

Their movements went very neatly. All their needs are met. Food, drinks and a tent to rest. All of them were carried by the accommodation section leading hundreds of horse carriages.

"Wouldn't this battle be too easy?" Say one player to another player.

"Yes, I think so too. I never thought that the enemy would send a hahaha goblin!"

"But isn't this a little weird?" Ask one of the players.

"Huh? Whatchu mean? It's called luck!" Reply big-bodied player with bald head in front of him.

"I mean, is it possible to send an army of goblins?"

They're starting to wake up.

"Truely so, how do they command this asphy?"

The players who started to feel something was awkward became a little restless. However, their duty in carrying out this Quest forbade them to leave the army.

If they choose to leave the army or become a Deserter, severe punishment awaits them.

Players could only gulp their saliva while praying that the goblins they were about to encounter were as easy as they had imagined.

3 Days of travel have passed.

The 1000-strong squad of rodeers, 1000 archers and 3000 foot soldiers had entered the forest in the Eastern region of the mountains.

Although it is still daytime, the lighting in this forest is quite minimal due to the dense foliage.

The commander of the troops who was an NPC seemed relaxed in leading the troops.

While players who began to feel restless since entering the forest continued to lock their mouths tightly.

"Ji-if there is a player among the horde of goblins... It's okay to kill them isn't it?" Ask one of the players.

"Just calm down, we're in a state of war. The PK penalty system won't apply to us during this war Quest." Definitely a veteran player.

"Thank God then."

War conditions.

During the war, the situation of killing each other always occurred between players and NPCs. Therefore, the Re:Life system protects war participants from PK penalties.

Conversely, if the player kills civilians or residents, they will get a PK penalty. It aims to protect the residents of Re:Life who are NPCs.

Of course, Eric didn't know this.

Elin who understands that she does not need to intervene to kill the enemy directly also forgets to warn Eric.

Meanwhile, Chris who immediately left the two of them for the sake of chasing the legendary blacksmith forgot to include Eric and Elin as participants of the war on his side.

In other words, if Eric kills a player who is not a PK, he will get a PK penalty.

Although he did it indirectly through his goblins.

But of course, Eric's current face was still full of smiles and full of relaxation because he did not know this danger.

Meanwhile.

"Stop!" Shouted the troop commander of the Federation of Merchants the group of decoys.

"I sensed that there was something strange about this forest. Get your weapons ready!" Continue commander.

All the soldiers prepared their weapons. The archers began to draw his arrows, while the knights on horseback began to prepare their large swords.

Even so, the atmosphere remained silent.

5 mins.

10 mins.

Nothing happened.

Most NPC players and warriors began to doubt the words of their commanders.

Not wanting to endure any greater embarrassment, the commander apologized and ordered the entire army to keep moving.

Their journey was pretty smooth.

Until they lower their guard.

"Gurgaghh!"

"Help me!"

"Nooooo!"

Many soldiers started shouting from all directions.

This vast and dark forest began to show its fangs.

"Everything! Prepare for the fight!" Shouted the commander.

But it's a pity.

The chain of command collapsed at that very instant.

'Toooo!'

An extremely loud thunderclap sounded in everyone's ears. Behind the trees there was a goblin holding a wooden stick, having a small body and slightly white hair. His sharp teeth looked hideous behind his smile.

Shaman Goblin.

Level 38

"I will present this victory to the Young Master and Miss! Kikikiki...." The shaman goblin said after launching the Thunder Strike attack which was a mid-level magic.

At that very instant, the body of the commander of the army who had been standing firmly on the white horse had fallen on the ground. After a while, his body turned into a white light and disappeared.

That was death for the NPC.

All the soldiers who saw their commander killed horribly began to panic.

Without leaders, they are like wild goblins. Even weaker than goblins if they were overpowered by fear.

Attacks from all sides.

Plus the incredible number of goblins.

The agility of the small body possessed by the goblins made it difficult for the soldiers to attack him. Archers who try to attack often even shoot their own friends.

The formation of the Merchant Federation warriors began to disintegrate. The goblins, who had initially attacked from the outside, had now entered the ranks of the soldiers.

Archers who do not have good melee ability are easy prey for goblins.

In addition, the lightning magic continuously cast by the shaman goblins killed the soldiers one by one while giving a deep fear.

"Damn it! Why did it go like this!" Shouted a player with a bald head.

Yes, he is a veteran player with a level reaching 62. He was experienced in running quests against monsters.

But now, the situation has changed drastically.

"They all fight like humans! Hmh! Fuckin." Shouted the bald man.

In front of him were 2 Goblin Warior wielding great swords. The second level goblin warrior had only reached 39 but their extremely high total growth stats made them a terrible enemy.

There are 2 of them!

"I will give a beautiful victory to the Young Master and Miss by defeating you!" Shouted one of the Goblin warriors.

"Huh? What do you mean? You have a master?" The bald man then felt a sense of horror all over his body.

"Goblin.. sir. lest our enemy this time be the devil...."

Not having time to finish his words, the 2 warior goblins slashed their swords simultaneously, killing the bald man instantly.

"Don't expect you to survive after insulting our Master." Obviously the two goblin warriors were.

And so, after 1 hour of battle in the darkness of the forest, the pasuka goblin gained its victory.

The riding knights that the Merchant Federation was proud of could not afford to dwell within this dense forest. The slow movement of the horses allowed the goblin army to hunt them easily.

The number of casualties suffered by the goblin army reached 8000 goblins. A reasonable amount considering how weak Normal-level goblins were armed with swords and small shields.

While the casualties suffered by the Merchant Federation forces reached 4500 lives. About 500 soldiers were able to escape using the horses.

Meanwhile....

"Eh? Eh?!" Shouted Elin while stepping back.

"Oi Elin what are you doing? We have to hurry." Eric looked at Elin's attitude.

"You-you. I'm sorry Eric. I seem to have forgotten to tell you something. So does Chris." Obviously Elin.

"I told you what you're doing?"

"Do I have to congratulate you Eric? For being a PK, hahaha...." Elin replied with a smile filled with sadness.

On top of Eric's head was clearly visible 'Eric' with a bright red color.
