Chapter 62: The Prize
We also went back to Alpha College. Three years is not a short time for an academy to change, that is. Within three years of my departure, this academy, Alpha College, has changed a lot.
"Murid met the masters!" I said along with the other two seniors.
"Wake up, how are you?" Master Julius opened the conversation.
"Our news is good, master. We hope you too" said senior Ian representing.
"It's been a long time, Ian, Judith"
"That's right, master."
For a long time we talked about many things. Starting from what happened during our time away, to the time where senior Ian and Judith were still in the academy.
"Haa .. I am really old .." lamented master Julius as he sighed.
"Alright, I guess you guys will also get bored if I'm the only one talking, go meet the other three elders. You guys must also want to meet the other juniors right? Especially you, Ian, don't you have to say hello to your sister?" Ask master Julius.
"Sure" said senior Ian and Judith passed.
"Haah? Wait, Senior Ian has a younger brother!?" Ask surprised.
"You don't know?"
I shook my head quickly, "no"
"Then now you know, right?"
I nodded in response to his words.
He smiled warmly at me, "alright. Follow me, I'll show you something" he said as he slipped from his seat and passed.
"Hmmm, okay" I got up and followed him.
We also walked down the academy building which was quite spacious, no, it was very spacious for the size of a school in my previous world.
After a while, we arrived at the library of the academy.
Nothing has changed since the last time I came here. Still with a row of cupboards with thousands of thick books in it. There are many books in this library. It all covers all areas in Alpha College coverage. In fact, even though there are thousands, or even hundreds of thousands, this book is never really damaged or dirty.
Even so, the master did not stop his steps. I was still following him, passing through a row of cupboards full of books. Continue to follow his steps down the hallway after hallway, climbing child after step.
His steps only came to a halt when we arrived at the third floor of the library.
Still with a closet full of books, but with a different order. It was like forming a formation.
"You feel it, huh?" Master's words surprised me.
I nodded confirming his conjecture, "uh, hmm .."
"Ha huh! As expected of an Asteris!" Her speech.
"Here" he said.
His old steps then stopped in a large wooden floor in the middle of the closet cluster.
"What ... do you mean?" Many doubt.
"You should have heard the story from the master leader, right?"
"That's right."
A little talk from him brought me back that night. The night the master told me about all the things that happened behind our meeting planned by 'time'.
"And, I think it's time for you to get what's meant for you." He said as he tapped the stick in his hand onto the wooden floor.
Geck.
The glow of circular light, illuminated where we stood. In just a split second, it moved us to a place that was unfamiliar to me.
"It's the first time, right?" Ask master.
I nodded confirming his words.
The place was quite dark and cold, but that soon changed as the master stepped his foot, the row of candles immediately lit up with his light.
I stepped on my feet, following the man down the dusty narrow passageway.
Throughout the hallway, the brighter we found it. We arrived at a large place, with brighter lighting.
A large globe resembling a globe with many intricate circuits around it caught my attention.
Some light appeared and shimmered from the ball.
Klang's! Klang's!
The sound of the sound of small objects clashing against each other I heard faintly along with the whirring of the wind blowing.
I raised my head, staring at the several bamboo plates hanging in the sky of the room.
The writing appears engraved on it, some shining with golden light, some dead, leaving the usual writing black.
"This ..."
"That's all the names of our students" said the master.
"With this, we can always know when they are in danger, and let us help them." The master explained.
"What does that mean ..."
"That's right, every official student who has received the Alpha College emblem directly, will automatically get this token" said Master.
I smiled, became a little calmer, "Thank you, master" I said thank you.
The master simply nodded in response to my remark, "then? Do you know why I brought you here?" Ask.
I just kept quiet and kept observing everything in this room.
"I'm sure the master leader has told you, someone from the future?" Ask master Julius.
I nodded confirming his words.
"He asked us to make you part of Alpha College."
"Then, part of our agreement is that we will give you your rights, as successor to Arcnight ..."
"You mean .." I said trying to examine.
"That's right. But before that, he wants to see you" said master Julius raising his hand.
"How is that .." I said to a halt as a bright sparkle of light emerged from a pitch-blue crystal ball.
The light continued to grow brighter, illuminating the entire room.
"Mirror ..."
"... Your honor ..."
"Destroyed ..."
A strange, noisy sound immediately burst out, along with many strange explosive sounds.
A strange memory frame entered my memory. In a few moments, my mind went awry, "What is this .." I murmured withstanding the pain.
"Go away" said the faint master.
