Chapter 22

Chapter 22: Home to Go Home

Back then, the master asked me to go to a street where we met before.

There, in the corner of the crowd, curled up a child. I approached.

"Sister, we meet again" I said.

He looked at her face, staring at each other for a while. Swab eyes, feet that are blisters due to running barefoot. At that time, it was so sad.

Her eyes were watery, re-wetting her cheeks, adding to the depressing impression of her appearance.

"You-you! You were yesterday! B-how can?" He looks dazed.

"Ah, right. You may be confused, for sure! But yeah, there's no point in asking me. I don't know too much either. My master asked me to. Compared to that, you'd better eat first, you'd be hungry." I said as I reached into the small bag I was carrying, picked up a piece of bread and stretched it out.

His crying increased, the flow of tears continued to flow profusely, wetting the shirt he was wearing.

"U-um. You're not hurt, so I guess that's fine," I said a little comfortingly, but I had to give up because it didn't work out at all.

"Sigh. I know it's hard for you, but just because you experience it yourself you can respect you more, your mother asks you to live, so live for the life of her who sacrificed for you" I crouched down and saw him closer.

He looked surprised, "you're right"

A small smile on his face. I let out my breath.

"So, what's your next plan?"

"This.." he looked down confused, and a little complicated.

"Ahaha so yes.well, whatever it is, whatever it is. Uh! And also, if you're confused about where to go, I think your bodyguard uncle will take it." Mouth lightly.

It was probably too rash, but the master had indeed already dealt with the matter. And also, he saved one of his guards I guess.

"W-what? Uncle.. in-he survived?" Ask surprised.

"Ep. My master is trying his best in this matter."

I just nodded lightly confirming his words.

"But.who are you? How do you know about that?" Ask carefully.

"You just got suspicious? Don't you think that I'm the one standing behind this?" Sharpest.

"No. Even if it was you, what could I-this weakling do?"

"Then? What would you do if you knew who I was?"

"I'm free, right now. I don't want to go back to my extended family, whether it's my uncle or something else. I don't want to burden them with a useless person like me. And you, even if it's just a meal, you give me that. So, I don't think it matters if I follow you"

"I told you about this before, and after it happened, I came to you, fed you, made you aware, and also gave you a little hope like 'your uncle is fine, ' or like 'you still have a home to go to, ' but you trust me?"

"Don't you think that I caused all this? And again, even if I was just guessing, I didn't save your mother at all - no, even if it was you, I didn't help you at all, did I?"

He shook slowly. "If you did, you couldn't have told me this or saved eyewitnesses like me and my uncle, so. if that's true, you're an adventurer right? I'm useless, but I can help you, "

"Oh? So the conclusion is that you don't want to burden your family but you want to burden me with this stranger, right?"

"No. i.."

"Hmm?"

"I'm.no. It's not like that, I. I just want to be free longer, that's it."

"Oh? What then? Do you think by following me you can be free?"

"You and your master saved me and set me free. Even if it was just a coincidence, I wanted to save myself again and again, even if it was just empty hope."

"And again, I don't know who you and your master are. But, if that's true then you should have an attachment to a strong person right? If my guess is correct then, once again, let me come with you" he said.

"Haish.hearing your words makes me even more curious about his way of thinking" I said as I scratched my head without itching.
