Chapter 71: News
"Hey have you heard the news about Nightingale?" Said a noble man with a cup of beer still in his hand.
"Hoo? What do you mean about the big auction?" The noble man before him.
"Of course, what do you think, huh!?"
"Well, that place is on the rise, isn't it?"
"What's wrong with that place?"
"Hah .. it's about the Kaelmiff family .. I heard his youngest son made trouble with the auction later this year" the noble man said.
"Uhm? Is he stupid huh!?" Said the other man seriously.
"Huh.well that's what I thought, but anyway it's possible if he's Kaelmiff's youngest son." He ended the conversation.
"Ah, excuse me, sorry to interrupt the timing"
The two men turned in unison towards me.
I tried to smile as the two noble men turned their heads and showed their dim, red-looking faces from the beer they drank.
"O oh?" They woke up from their daydreams and responded to me softly.
"Ah, actually, what happened to Azasky? It looks like it's more crowded than usual" I said with a glance.
"Hoo, son, you look like you're new here?" Said one of the men greeted by a nod I agreed.
"Hoho deserves it you son!" The man said crisply.
"Then I'll sit here hearing the story from sir ..."
"If all you want to know is about the auction, we'll tell you as much detail, about how cruel the place is to a young noble like you, ho ho."
"Ah, no. That's not what I meant . all I want to know is what you just talked about, about Azasky." Saying again.
"Huh, what you're talking about is that army, right?" Said the man directing his gaze out toward the troops who seemed busy passing by.
While I just nodded in confirming.
"Ah. It's about our neighbor's kingdom, Arcnight"
The two men were silent for a moment with expressions that looked serious, looking a little confused to tell it.
I smiled, raising my hand at a servant who happened to pass by, "drink, I will treat him." My words are friendly.
"Ah. That'sthat's true! At the end of this lost kingdom appears again to show its existence. Therefore, the royal family decided to restrict our activities outside Azasky."
"Oh? Is that true?" Saying later.
"Of course it's true. However, if the kingdom reappears, it means that the shield that divides the arcnight kingdom with the outside world begins to change. If that's the case then miasma will most likely be contagious." He said with a goosebumped expression.
"So yes," I said later. After a while, we talked about a lot of things. Don't ask if it's easy or how. Of course it's very difficult for me to keep listening to this silly chant of a drunken man.
Of course, it's only the information about Azasky and Arcnight that I want to know. But, as time went on, somehow more and more information I accidentally discovered from the utterances of the drunkards.
"So .. I get it, thanks for the information." My response.
"Ah, that's right! You're the new kid, right? I mean, be careful not to get in touch with Kaelmiff's family." Said one of the men who had not said too much.
I was stunned, without me noticing that my tone of voice had slightly changed, "The silver?" I asked while still trying to cover it up, an invisible emotional change that was present inside me.
"Well, that's because you know? A few years ago the family became dilapidated enough to be considered a noble family. Old Kaelmiff is in jail for proving to be corrupt."
"Yes! That'sthat's true! Then, the damn j*lang woman started to arbitrarily organize the residents of Kaelmiff! Starting from raising taxes to about 3 times the original tax, Isn't that crazy!?" Said one of the men.
"Tch! The family is really greedy! And also, I see that even though you're new here, but your appearance is arguably quite handsome, no-it's already handsome for a young man your age. Be careful with the old lady, not only with her but with her daughter if you don't want to be a slave to them!"
"Not only that, baj*ngan son they are the same! Although he was the closest to the current position of the Count, he instead used it for such a disgusting thing as 'it'!."
"I'm not a saint, but it still looks like an animal!"
"'That'? I'm sorry, maybe it's a little impolite, but what exactly is going on?" My toot.
"Hey boy, let's see that drunk guy who's almost like a dying man over there!" Said one of the men in a furious tone.
The man appears to be pointing at an unconscious man on his desk, alone. The man shouldn't look old, but his face and appearance made him look like a homeless old man.
He fell asleep, with a reddened face, drool dripping from the corner of his mouth, the corner of his eyes looking dirty with a trail of tears that seemed clear. The thick beard and mustache add to the old impression along with the tangled clothes that are no longer clean. He was still formally dressed in a shabby white shirt and long black pants.
A black suit draped in his chair, his irregular sleeping position made me think that he had fallen asleep by accident.
"Who, him?" I asked after watching it for a while.
"Well, he's an ex-regional officer. He was a good man, with a beautiful wife. But a few weeks ago, Baj*ngan was 'disrespecting' his poor wife. His wife was depressed and suicidal. After the death of his wife, he became like that, depressed."
"There is a rumor that says that before he came home and heard his wife's complaint about young lord Kaelmiff's actions, he had been expelled from his job for unclear reasons."
Hearing the man's stray, it couldn't prevent me from tightening my hand.
I was stunned to hear their chanting, a little strange if you were a stranger, but to me who had spent some time in that house, it didn't surprise me at all.
'Well, they'll get it, their own reply.'
'It doesn't look like I want to re-engage with them, even if I can. Nothing will change except the future.'
I got up from my seat, intending to leave.
"Well, I will remember it, you say. Thank you for your kindness." My words were answered by their smiles.
I put my feet out, the air is quite hot right now outside. The hustle and bustle of community activity peppered my eyes.
The wind blew a little as I tried to tighten my robe back, "Kai" I whispered softly.
"Honor to your majesty" he said, a young man with white hair who immediately appeared along with a gust of wind.
"Tell Alice to get the stamp I ordered immediately."
"Okay, your honor."
"Obviously, when I arrived, everything was prepared" I added as I walked away.
"As per the noble commandment".
"Go".
This year is the third year after the great war. This year is the fourteenth year of my life.
Not long after, my goal was clear. Among the many tall buildings, a familiar emblem for me was sticking out. I stepped my foot into the tower, as usual, looking very crowded and stuffy.
