The Mafia Bride

The Mafia Bride
Chapter 3: Stuffy

"This afternoon, Keenan invited me to go to Mas Karyo's place" said Siena sitting on the dining table chair. Bu Silvi glanced for a moment, then went back to cooking oseng oseng tempe.

"Now don't be too late, we go with the children" said Silvi.

Siena nodded while tasting the banana fritters, "no ma'am, I'm coming home in a shab, '" Siena replied and then stood up to Bu Silvi. "I'll go first, Mom." Siena reached out and kissed Silvi's hand. Then he walked outside the house.

"Siena!" keenan exclaims when he sees Siena coming out of the house.

"Keenan?" said Siena, then he approached Keenan who was sitting on the bike. "When have you been here?" siena asked smiling.

Keenan got off the bike, and he put down his helmet, "since you haven't been born yet" Keenan said. Then he laughed out loud when he saw Siena pouting. "From there Si.." said Keenan pinching Siena's nose.

For a moment Siena was silent, "how? so no?" ask Siena. Keenan brushed his hair for a moment.

"Sory Si..I didn't go, so.the meal was canceled and the reward was also void," teased Keenan.

Siena had her hand outstretched to touch Keenan's chest, making Keenan link his eyebrows to Siena's hand that stuck to his chest, "a...what is..?"

"Blocks!" Siena patted Keenan's chest hard and laughed loudly, "good dong you don't go. So I can do it every day on your treat." Keenan looked at Siena off guard, he was already thinking that no. Fortunately, his words did not continue.

"It's even dumb!" pat Siena to Keenan's chest again, making Keenan ashamed himself. "Then, how about you eat here with all of us?" ask Siena.

Keenan nodded his head, "of course you will." Then they walked together entering the house directly towards the kitchen. Miss Silvi turned towards the two of them.

"You're not leaving?" ask Miss Silvi.

"No Ma'am, Keenan didn't go Abroad" Siena replied, sitting on the chair, while Keenan greeted Silvi and sat down.

"Then..Nak Keenan dinner here only," said Bu Silvi put oseng oseng tempe on the table. Siena stood up and helped Miss Silvi prepare dinner.

"Thank you Ma'am.so troublesome," said Keenan chuckling.

"Ah not also Son."

Before long they finished preparing dinner, Miss Silvi called all the children of the orphanage to eat together. They sat sweetly in their chairs and then prayed before eating. Regularly and calmly, they enjoyed dinner. Keenan noticed the children of all children, there was a sense of sadness as well. Not all children are as lucky as themselves who have parents and a guarantee of decent living.

"Don't Keenan be dumb? not good food," asked Bu Silvi staring at Keenan who was dumbstruck.

Keenan blinked his eyes, he became misbehaved Bu Silvi was daydreaming, "ti.no Bu..enak really," Keenan replied smiling and bowing his head back to enjoy his food. There was pain in Keenan's heart as he recalled that in his house there were many foods that his mother had served for him alone.

'From tomorrow, I have to work hard and collect money from my own sweat to help children' Keenan said in his heart. Although he is the only child of the people, Keenan has the principle not to depend everything on parents, he must be independent. And Keenan himself was inspired by the presence of his best friend Siena since childhood.

After eating Siena and Keenan had a short conversation, because it was night Keenan also say goodbye to Miss Silvi.

Keenan smiled, "no ma'am." she replied as she shook Silvi's hand. "Mom..Siena.I'll go home first." Siena and Miss Silvi nodded their heads.

"Heart on the road" said Siena. Keenan glanced for a moment then he stepped his foot towards the courtyard. Siena waved as Keenan left the parlour.

"Siena..I want to talk to you for a minute" Silvi said after Keenan left. Siena nodded her head, then they walked over and sat down on the terrace.

"What's up, Mom?" ask Siena.

Miss Silvi took a deep breath, then she lowered her head for a moment, "there is something you should know, since you are the biggest among your sister," replied Miss Silvi.

Siena nodded, then she shifted the chair to get closer to Bu Silvi, "yes Bu."

"So like this.." Miss Silvi took a deep breath. "This orphanage is standing on land belonging to the Hardi Suryadiningrat family," Siena nodded her head. "Yesterday morning, I got a notice that this land was going to be sold and they're going to dismantle this parlour, son."

"Creally Ma'am?" Siena surprised. "Then? is there no replacement money or are we given time by them?" ask Siena. Miss Silvi shook her head.

Siena lowered her head, "keep going, ma'am." said Siena quietly.

"Mom don't know, son," replied Miss Silvi.

Siena looked up at Silvi, "when will they come here, Mom?" ask Siena.

"Lusa" said Miss Silvi. Siena was silent for a moment, she tried to find a solution to the problem she was facing.

"Mom relax, let me talk to them later. Who knows if they feel empathy for us."

"Amin" said Miss Silvi.

"Tomorrow I'll apply for a job, ma'am.." Siena touched the hand of Miss Silvi who was on the table.

"Hope your business is good, son." Miss Silvi smilingly looked at Siena, her hands clapping Siena's hands. Siena nodded her head, her lips smiling faintly staring towards Bu Silvi. "It's late at night, you better take a break so you don't oversleep." Siena nodded her head. Then Miss Silvi stood up and put her foot into the house. While Siena sat pensively on the porch chair of the house.

'I need to talk to the landowner. Otherwise.where do we live?' siena said in her heart.

A feeling of pain rippling in his veins filled the chest cavity suffocating the inner space. There was a feeling of envy running through his heart why would he have to experience life like this? Questions in his mind. Who are his parents? why would they throw it away, as if they did not want it to exist, but why should it be born if it is not wanted?

"Aahhkk" cried Siena quietly.

In the last and endless days, the sound of footsteps no longer resounded, shrinking with the time that never wanted to wait for the agreement of self-meaninglessness.

'Maybe someday, on my last foothold, I'll understand. Social relationships are nothing more than nonsense. My parents didn't want me. Elegant purplishness, a lie that is so filled, as if the life I live is reasonable and proper.ahh..' Siena sighed at what she did not understand why she was in the orphanage.
