“Grandpa! Grandpa!” The young man shouted anxiously, looking back. Tears flowed down his face and floated on Chaos.
A terrifying aura burst forth behind him. The sword energy was endless and covered the mighty sky like a rainbow. There was an endless explosion that created a distortion in space and a black vortex kept appearing and disappearing, like a planet born and dying at the same time.
Vomit up!
The young man was hit by a stray attack and his body felt like it was being split apart. Red blood gushed out from his mouth. He would have been destroyed if not for his grandfather's protector.
His eyes lost focus and his mind was very distant. In his heart, his grandfather could do anything, including controlling life and death.
However, his grandfather always said, “Life and death are like passing clouds. Even the invincible will die someday. So, you need to learn to rely on yourself.”
The young man's eyes became filled with determination. He dried his tears and accelerated his pace. ‘Can I really find a way to survive there?’ He wonders.
After a while, a figure walked out to Chaos. His movements were erratic, like flashes of lightning, moving fast.
It was none other than the Southern Shadow Guard.
He laughed out loud and his aura caused the Chaos to split apart. Laws rushed out from his body and pointed straight towards the young man. “Where do you think you're going, boy?”
“Everything, leave him to me because I'm the fastest in the group. I'll be back before you know it, ” said the Southern Shadow Guard. Then, he turned into a beam of light and disappeared in Chaos.
The Left Envoy raised his head and sent him away with his eyes. He had developed a phobia towards the Area of the Gods. He will avoid going there as much as possible. He did not dare to follow the South Shadow Guard and wondered at the same time whether his comrade could return safely.
Meanwhile, on the edge of the East Sea, a white-robed old man was treading the waves with two little girls. The old man's aura was almost undetectable and his body was slightly rickety. His face was mostly covered by his white hair, white beard, and white eyebrows. There was nothing conspicuous in his appearance that made it easy to ignore.
The two little girls were Dragin and Nanan. They happily joined the old man to go to the Fallen Immortal Mountain. In each of their hands was a rope with various sea monsters, specially selected for them, attached to it.
There is a two-meter long Australian Lobster and a three-meter wide King Crab. In addition to the rare seafood, there was a soft scaly dragon meat. Everything looked delicious enough to make anyone's mouth water.
The sea monsters, each king in their own territory, with the ability to summon tidal waves, were treated as normal materials by the two little girls. The sight of the two little girls dragging them gave a sharp contrast.
Dragin blinked his big eyes and looked at the old man curiously. “Legregor, do you really look like this?”
“Sound fool, how can? One should always prepare some face when one lives in such a dangerous world.” The old man smiled lovingly and continued. “You must remember what I told you. First Escape Spell, second Clone Spell, and third Transformation Spell. You must master these three spells. This is the most important thing in your training. All the other spells, which can only last for a moment, all pass through the clouds.”
“I disagree with you. That spell is not cool at all!” dragin.
“Do not judge a book by its cover. Safety first, ” said the old man in a firm tone.
“Legregor, we are obliterating monsters and demons outside. Why did you drag us to visit Brother Li?” Dragin asked.
Although they were very fond of living with Li Nianfan, the outside world was also very pleasant. They found killing monsters and demons very exciting. Lately, they have made a name for themselves and they feel the achievement of it.
“Did your head hit stupid? Do you know how many people dream of drinking tea with an expert? You two have the chance to stay with him but choose to kill monsters and demons. You crazy?” The old man replied.
“But grandfather, we have obtained so much from Brother Li and we find it difficult to digest everything in such a short time. Killing monsters and demons also helps us in many ways, ” explained Nanan. “By the way, you shouldn't underestimate Brother Li's luck!”
Nanan looked at the old man and held his beard. “Honey bees produce honey, cows produce milk, and chickens produce eggs. Do you produce milk? Do you produce eggs?” He asked non-stop.
“Too shallow! Your thinking is too shallow!” The Old Dragon cried after being stunned for a moment by his words. “Do you think I enjoyed myself when I was secluded for so many years? I just did it so that I could gather some strength. So I can be more useful! You kids are too petty. You may think that you are helping an expert by going out into the World, but all you do is make him worry about your safety!
Nanan. “Is it really as you say?” He asked skeptically.
“Oh yes. Take for example the recent events, do you think you will be able to help with the disasters caused by the Ministry and Eldritch? Why did I get out of my isolation? Well, I have decided to look for the two of you when I see how problematic that expert is. ”
The Old Dragon paused for a moment before continuing. “In addition, if you really want to digest everything you have gained from the experts, you must learn Yoga to get better results! Admit you wanna go out to play. All play and no work makes Jack a mere toy. You have disappointed the experts!”
The words of the Old Dragon caused Dragin and Nanan's heads to droop in embarrassment.
“Did Brother Li really feel troubled?” Nanan asked gently.
“Yes. Not only that, Blackie became bald out of worry!” The Old Dragon said with a sigh.
“Cannot be!” Dragin and Nanan cried, tears welling up in their eyes.
“I will train hard and get stronger faster. I will help Brother Li defeat all the bad guys!” Nanan said firmly.
“Me too,” said Dragin seriously with a nod.
“It's more like that. Stay on the expert side. Even helping him water the flowers will help you improve more than just practicing outside, ” Old Dragon said. A satisfied smile emanated from his face.
“Kids are very easy to manipulate,” thought Old Dragon. He would never tell them the real reason he wanted them to train hard was because he wished they could wipe out all evil so he didn't need to do anything.
Blackie had forced her to go outside, effectively ending her listless life. It was a good thing he was able to quickly make a plan to fight this.
In a listless community, there is a saying – It is great to rest in the shade of a big tree.
Or — There will always be someone who prevents the sky from falling.
As long as he surrounded himself with strong people, he would be able to continue his listless life.
Suddenly, the Old Dragon's face twitched slightly then looked into the distance. He chanted a spell and in an instant, countless faint water vapor appeared, to monitor the movement of thousands of miles around him.
Two beams of light shot out from a distance away, and in an instant entered the outer sky of Chaos, and the figure stepped on the sky, coming straight towards them.
The explosion! The explosion! The explosion!
Even Laws had to make way for them as they advanced, making frightening sounds as loud as thunder.
The Southern Shadow Guard's eyes narrowed and he chased after the young man from behind as if he was just a prey. “You won't be able to escape, boy. Hand over Repose Herb if you don't want to die!” He said mockingly.
The grip of the young man from Repose Herb became even tighter. With blood still coming out of his mouth, he could feel the protector standing on his last leg.
Suddenly, he saw a group of people in the ocean in front of him — it was a group consisting of an old man and two little girls.
“Parents, quickly take the kids away from here. Behind me is a Ministry man. That's dangerous!” He shouted loudly, panic filling his heart.
Nanan's eyes shone brightly when he heard what the young man said. “Grandfather, it's Ministry people there! Let's kill him so that Brother Li is not too troubled!”
“Hurest, it's show time for you!” Dragin said with anticipation.
The Old Dragon remained silent. He tried to assess the situation while trying to calm himself down at the same time.
‘It seems like no one else is lying in an ambush within a thousand miles and there are no other power fluctuations behind the Ministry. He has to be alone. If that was the case, I should have been able to defeat him easily with one of the methods in the Thirty-seven Instant Killer Program! But let's wait a little while longer to see how the situation develops.’ He thinks to himself.
He was jolted back to the present when he heard the cold cry of the Southern Shadow Guard. “Stop! Hand the Herb Rest, hand over the Herb Rest!”
The Old Dragon's face became grim at that very instant. Rumors about the Ministry were true — they are indeed crazy and shameless! How could they behave in such a way? An old man forced a young man to do the thing he did not want!
‘I have two children with me here. How can I expose them to such behavior?’ He thinks.
So, this made him raise his hand without any more hesitation.
Whooshing sound!
The ocean exploded and a pillar of water consisting of an infinite number of droplets flowed towards the young man. The droplets acted as if they were alive, its speed already surpassing the Laws of the universe. There was no chance to avoid it and it appeared in front of the Southern Shadow Guard without warning.
The Southern Shadow Guard was too involved in the chase when his eyes suddenly became blurred by powerful bursts of light and endless water droplets. In the next instant, he felt water droplets hit him, pierced through his body, and destroyed his life mark.
He did not even have the chance to make a sound before falling to the ground like a small bird hit by a bullet. He's really dead.
“She died?” The young man was dumbfounded. He lowered his wide eyes, wondering if he was hallucinating.
‘How could a high-level member of the Heavenly Realm be so easily killed by an ordinary-looking old man? He must have been hiding his talent all along. As grandfather said, The area of the Gods is full of pent-up talent and endless luck!’ thought the young man to himself.
The experience of escaping near death brought up mixed feelings within him and he began to tremble.
“Halo! The potion you hold looks interesting. The expert has not had it in his backyard.” Said the Old Dragon, snapping at the young man back to the present.
“Thank you for saving my life. This is the Rest Potion. I hope it is to your liking, ” said the young man respectfully. He was not stupid so it was natural for him to obtain the hidden meaning of the Old Dragon. So, without hesitation, he handed the Rest Potion to him. The reason he protected Repose Herb with his life just a moment ago was because he was unwilling to give up on the Ministry.
“Wah thank you. You'll go far in life, young man. The Old Dragon nodded and took the Rest Potion from the young man's hand and handed it to Dragin. Then, he turned his gaze to the corpse of the Southern Shadow Guard and a smile emerged from his face. “It's actually a Chaos Black Fur Finch. Our offer to experts has just been improved now because we have plants, seafood, and game animals.”
“And we offer shipping! Brother Li will definitely be happy.” Dragin and Nanan quickly went to tie Chaos Black-Feather Finch up.
Seeing they were about to leave, the young man could not help it anymore, and continued to kneel in front of the Old Dragon. “My name is Jiang Liu. Please accept me as your follower! ”
The Old Dragon shook his head nonstop. “No.”
“The Eldritch has come and Chaos will soon descend into doom. I want to do what I can!” Jiang Liu said, don't give up.
Old Dragon shook his head again and muttered to Dragin, “Let's go. We must return immediately to where that expert is!”
‘Ahli?’ Jiang Lu had heard Old Dragon mention it a few times. His heart started pounding as he guessed that the power of the Old Dragon must be higher than his grandfather so how strong would his experts be if the Old Dragon called him that?
His breathing became rougher when he saw monsters and demons hanging by a rope in the hands of Nanan and Dragin. ‘Is this all for the experts? Even the Chaos Black Feather Finch? They should really respect him.’
He then gritted his teeth and followed them from behind.
When the Chaos Black-Feather Finch fell to the ground, its impact caused many feathers to fall off. As soon as the Old Dragon and the rest of the group left, a strand of feathers left on the ground started to glow, attached to it was a piece of Primordial Spirit.
“It is a good thing that with the Nirvana Skill I can sustain my life. Otherwise, I would have been dead!” The memory of the previous attack could still stir fear in the hearts of the Southern Shadow Guards.
The attacker must have reached the edge of Wisdom. He might even be on par with the Minister!
“I need to get out of here as soon as possible.”
Suddenly, he felt a premonition. He turned his gaze upwards and saw an old woman standing in the sky.
‘First, an old man! Now an old lady? How proud is this Area of the Gods?’
Just when she was still in a daze, the old woman had already raised her hand, and a burst of flames passed by, sweeping across the black feathers on the ground and turning them into nothingness.
Then, came another middle-aged man who threw some lightning and walked carefully to make sure he did not miss anything before turning around and leaving.
Dragin and Nanan's view of the Old Dragon has turned positive since then. It was even more impactful for Jiang Lu, enough to reverse his worldview. Although there was no denying the power that the Old Dragon possessed, Jiang Lu could not help but feel he was being too lethargic.
“Those Ministry men are too strong! I could have died. You all have to train harder so you can fight on your own. I'm too old to keep doing dangerous things like this!” The Old Dragon.
Jiang Lu could not help but glance at the Old Dragon while thinking to himself whether his grandfather was as strong as the Old Dragon or if he met the Old Dragon faster and trained under him, he said, his grandfather will live.
Jiang Lu followed behind them, not speaking a word, and Old Dragon pretended not to know he was there.
Until they reached the foot of the Fallen Eternal Mountain, the Old Dragon stopped to say, “That expert doesn't like to be disturbed. You can't follow us any further nor can you climb a mountain. So it is best if you come back from where you came from. ”
He did not wait for Jiang Lu to respond and continued up the mountain with Dragin and Nanan.
Jiang Lu looked at the disappeared Old Dragon's back and bowed deeply. He knew in his heart Old Dragon was not cruel, in fact, he had actually given him a hint! It was enough for him to know the whereabouts of the expert and the location of his residence. All of this is undercover goodness!
“Grandfather, I have found my chance in the Area of the Gods. I will work hard to get recognition from the experts so that I can protect myself and my loved ones!”
He then took a deep breath and sat in a cross-legged position at the foot of the mountain.
