Chapter 44. Chester's Advice

The next few days, Shadow observed Hugo's movements. He also spent more time listening to Frisia vent while drunk. They often sit on the terrace. Sometimes Shadow makes jokes, so that Frisia does not keep her distance anymore.

According to Shadow, the time to move was getting closer. With the help of Lennox and Frisia, he was able to get closer to his plan.

“Do you love your lover so much?” ask Shadow in a low voice. Frisia is drunk now.

“I love him so much. We got married at the end of that year. But that fucking Hugo first moved to propose to me to Dad!” snarl.

“Isn't your father very powerful? He's a noble who has a good name and is liked by the people,” praise Shadow.

She remembers the man who picked her up at the door during the wedding anniversary party. Very friendly and polite man.

"But the Von Amstel family is a vile family. My girlfriend was gone a week before the proposal was filed. They're holding him back, to get my dad to accept Hugo's proposal!” Frisia growled furiously.

“Do your opinions not get questioned first?” ask Shadow wonder.

“Seeing she was hurt like that, I gave up. I agree to marry as long as she is released..” Frisia looked down and wiped her tears.

“Then, what are you fussing about now?”

Shadow really did not understand the Frisian way of thinking. Doesn't he already know the consequences? As he once did, Hugo forced marriage by threatening all the younger siblings of the orphanage where he grew up. When he saw them some time ago, Hugo did fulfill his promise to finance the parlour.

“Of course I'm angry. Because he never came back to his house! His family begged my father to release their only son. But father is helpless.”

Shadow speechless. This is very different from what Hugo did to his family in the orphanage. “Did Hugo have him, or Damon von Amstel?” thought Shadow.

“In your opinion, where will they hold your lover?” ask Shadow.

“Dad asked Damon. The wicked man admitted to still holding my lover, so as not to disturb Hugo and me's marriage!” angry Frisia again.

“No sense!” chirping Shadow.

“That's what I told dad. That is a very unreasonable reason!” Frisia added.

“Is it possible that the man was killed in torture, so he could not have been removed from Damon's hostage?” think Shadow again

“What do you think, your lover is still alive?” ask Shadow the origin. He wanted to know the thought of the girl himself.

“No! Don't give me a bad shadow, Shadow!” sergeant Frisia is angry.

“I only asked!” deny Shadow is upset. He's standing from there. I no longer want to continue the conversation that night.

“Don't leave me!” lirih Frisia was desperate.

“You've been too drunk, until anger is unclear to me!” shadow said unhappy.

“You should sleep now. I want to run in the morning, tomorrow. Do you want to come?"

Frisia just shook her head on the back of the garden chair. Shadow walked away leaving him. Waking up Frisia's personal servant, in order to bring her young mistress to the room, before raving it is unclear.

In his room, Shadow reported what Frisia had told him, to Chester. And because it was too late, the message was not answered. Shadow sent another message.

“Tomorrow before sunrise, I will run early in the morning around here.”

Then he slept quietly while opening the window of the room. A cold wind caressed his deep sleep.

It was still dark when Shadow came out to run in the morning. He even came out in sportswear, before Hugo. Shadow ran down the deserted and foggy streets. He was always happy with the fresh and cool air of the Springhills hills. Hugo chose a very nice place to build his private home.

Arriving at the farmer's market, the desolate atmosphere changed. It was already very crowded with farmers selling their crops to the merchants in the city. Shadow looked for the little cafe he used to work there.

“Give me coffee and warm bread!” message Shadow.

“Wah, Shadow. I haven't seen you in a long time.” The man looked at Shadow's sportswear. “Are you running in the morning?” tanyanya friendly.

“Yes. I'm sitting there!” point Shadow at a bench on the side of the road.

“Could I take you!” the cafe owner said.

Shadow sat down and checked his phone. Before long the phone was shaking. Call from Chester.

“You where?” ask the man, as soon as the phone is connected.

“I was waiting for coffee and bread at Market Cafe,” replied Shadow.

“What are you here for?” Shadow looked around. Looking for Chester's shadow among the crowd.

“I want to order coffee too.”

Chester passed to the front of the stall and ordered his coffee, then sat down in front of Shadow. He looked at his adopted daughter critically.

“You ... greatly changed. But I don't know, what part changed,” Chester said as he shook his head. Shadow laughed happily.

“I'm happy to see you healthy,” Shadow said with a smile.

“I have a daughter who is in a lion's den. There's no way I'm letting myself be unfit. Who will save you if not me!” Chester pouting.

“Why don't you just finish your plan?” ask Chester in wonder.

Shadow shakes. “I don't just want to reply to Hugo. But also Damon von Amstel!” furious Shadow.

“Only because of the words Frisia when drunk?” ask Chester in wonder.

“I don't agree you're interfering in other people's affairs, Venus. Your own business is not easy either!” forbid Chester's not happy.

“Not just that.” Shadow shakes.

Coffee and breakfast are delivered to the table. Then coffee and Chester bread also followed. Both of them sipped coffee on a cold morning.

“Then what's your reason?” ask Chester. He tore off the small still-hot bread and applied cream cheese from a small bowl. And then feed that little piece to his mouth quickly. He was ready to listen to Venus's excuses and arguments.

“I always felt that Hugo did all that to me was due to Damon's encouragement. The day he pushed me into the sea, we were fresh out of the Damon house. And he was called to Damon's private room for some time. After that we went home, and I threw it down into the sea!”

Chester listened to Shadow's story. “Do you feel Hugo is not as bad as you originally thought? You want to divert revenge on Damon? Are you starting to love her?” checar Chester with a sharp look.

Shadow shook firmly. “I just want to know, what makes Hugo can not resist the wishes of his grandfather. And hearing the story of Lennox and Frisia, I think, something forced Hugo to do whatever Damon told him to do!”

Chester was shocked to hear Shadow's analysis. “Whatever it is, isn't that Hugo's own business? What does this have to do with you?” Chester still disagreed on the reason his daughter meddled in other affairs, other than replying to Hugo and seizing Moreno.

“Focus on your original destination! Then go home and live in peace with your son. He had to meet his other grandfather. I can't wait to see it,” Chester said.

“I recorded it some time ago.” Shadow shows her phone containing Moreno's video footage.

“My grandson is handsome once!” chester said gladly. His smile was very happy, being able to see Moreno for the first time.

“Oh .. I think I've started to miss him. You need to get your business done quickly and bring him home. We can take him to the island and play around there!” chester said unconsciously.

“Island? Nah! He's too small to do your training!” Shadow did not agree.

“But he's a boy. He must be ready and strong, in order to replace me to take care of you one day!” refute Chester.

“No!” the Shadow Pout.

“Iya!” chester said insistent. The two looked at each other, with funny expressions. Then laugh.

“I am the happiest grandfather to have a grandson like Moreno" Chester smiled. His hand rubbed Shadow's hair gently.

They both enjoyed their coffee and breakfast again.

“I just want to remind you one thing. Do not let your ultimate goal not be achieved, when you are careless in the development of the plan! Because the risk is too great for you to bear. You may never see your son again, forever!” Chester warned.

Shadow was stunned listening to Chester's warning. “If you had fieldwork to take Moreno and reply Hugo with a case like this, what would you do?” ask Shadow to know. Chester is a special soldier who is usually asked to help rescue people who are being held hostage.

“I'll ask the client. What is his main purpose. Did she take her son, or kill her ex-husband? Or do you want to avenge your ex-in-law at the risk of losing your son!” chester said seriously.

Shadow was silent again. “Can't do two plans at once?” ask Shadow.

“Can! You can take your son and punish Hugo at once. Because they're in the same place. But your former father-in-law, his residence is very far away and well preserved. The place was like a castle with a fortress and strong guard!” chester.

“Even if we attack with a full team, it will still not be easy to penetrate it!” Once again, Chester showed a difficult reality in front of Shadow.

Shadow's phone is vibrating. He looked at her for a while then stood up quickly. “My alarm has sounded. It's time to wake up Moreno.” Obviously Shadow.

“I'll think through it and call you again.” Shadow had already walked away, but stopped his steps. He turned to Chester's desk and kissed the middle-aged man's cheek.

“I go first, father,” he said with a sweet smile.

Chester could no longer show his displeased face. His smile was extremely bright as he waved at Shadow who had already crossed the street.
