Chapter 57. Damon's Arrest

From behind the slightly opened door, a pair of plain eyes flickered in confusion. There's a trace of sadness hidden there. Then he went back up to the bed and enveloped his trembling body.

Before long, Venus came back and got into bed. Lying next to Moreno, trying to get back to sleep. He has no idea what way Chester will take to get Hugo's mother and Frisia's lover out.

The morning when Venus came out of the room with her son, from the glass window saw the busyness at the headquarters slightly increased.  After preparing breakfast cereal for Moreno, he went out and asked one of the running men.

“Is there a mission?” ask Venus.

“Yes. Oakenvalle City Lord asks for help to arrest someone.” The man ran away after saying that.

Venus fell silent. He understood the meaning of the soldier's words earlier. Frisian father, Baron Thomas Holloway asked Chester for help to catch someone? It must be Damon von Amstel! Venus is very sure of that.

He re-entered the building Chester used to occupy at the headquarters. Moreno was sitting in the dining chair. Bribed his breakfast while occasionally turning to the large glass window. Seeing people dressed in army clothes running around with full weapons at the waist.

“What is this place?” he asked when he realized Venus was back.

“This is mercenary headquarters!” Venus explained.

“You work as a mercenary?” ask Moreno.

“No. I just practiced with them. To be honest, the owner of this place is my father,” Venus said again.

“Why do you want to train like an army?” ask Moreno again.

“Because weak women are easily capulated and sacrificed by others!” answer Venus bitterly.

“Are you really my mother?”

Venus looked fast. The serious face of Moreno. She got up from her seat and squatted on her knees on the floor in front of her son. He watched with eyes demanding that answer. A smile on Venus's face.

“I don't know where you know it from. But, yes ... I'm your mother, Jeannette.” Venus says it carefully.

“Why isn't your face photographed in my room?” ask Moreno again.

“I operated on my face, so as not to be recognized by your father,” replied Venus honestly.

“Is it true that she dumped you into the sea in order to marry Frisia?” ask the boy again.

“Where did you know that?” ask Venus in wonder.

“I heard you talking to the man who confessed grandfather to me,” replied Moreno. His eyes were again thrown out the window and saw some soldiers running in line.

Venus can't speak anymore. He held out his hand to embrace his son. At first the boy wanted to hug her as usual. But this time he did not reciprocate Venus' wishes. His little hand fed the food to his mouth with a slight tremble.

“Did Dad die?”

Moreno's voice was choked, telling Veus that his son must have heard a lot last night. Without waiting for Moreno's approval, he hugged and carried the child to his chest.

Moreno's crying broke. Any evil Hugo on Venus, but he's a good father to his son. This kid must be very sad right now.

“I'm sorry, I didn't have time to prevent her from using that knife,” Venus said with regret. Moreno's crying hasn't stopped.

“He told me to keep you safe and away from your great-grandfather Damon. He also wants me to free his mother.”

“What did your father go to free my grandmother?” ask Moreno in between tears.

“Can grandma come stay with us if you are free?” ask the boy again, expectantly. "I've never seen him.

“Let's ask that to your grandfather, after he comes home later.” Venus smile. His son was no longer crying as badly as before.

Venus turns on the television and looks for the latest news. There's no information yet on Hugo's death or Damon's arrest. Venus went to the pantry and prepared breakfast for herself.

“See! It's Grandpa's house!” moreno.

The boy is now sitting in front of the television. Venus sat next to her. Bribing a spoonful of cereal with eyes can not be separated from tivi.

The charges made by the City Lord for arresting Damon are business fraud, money laundering, and another row of dime charges that left Venus head bobbing.

Chester just needs a reason to get in there and take down all the guises Damon has been wearing for years. Venus can see how her father is good at finding friends who both hate Damon.

On the front, the police officer advanced first. Damon and his men are seen as back-up policemen. In fact, they are the ones who have the main task of freeing Hugo's mother and Frisian lover.

Gunfight is inevitable with Damon's bodyguards. That's why Chester's bodyguards were brought in, because they were trained soldiers, not just city police.

After some time facing Damon's resistance, the residence was finally overrun.  Venus can see someone coming in with another helicopter. Venus looked at it.

“Big Park!” Moreno's eyes glared at tivi.

“Do you want him there?” hiss Venus.

“What Mom worries about her?” Moreno's little eyes were full of question marks. Venus shook firmly. He was very focused on what happened.

Chester and the police chief followed Lennox into the house. “Did Chester also cooperate with him?” think Venus.

The tivi station helicopter now dares to land. His reporters ran into Damon's house, whose guards were paralysed.

The man's broadcaster was standing in the living room, where the extended family of Von Amstel used to gather. The man faced the camera that stood at him.

“Now we can see the luxury of a residence that has been a mystery for decades!”

The camera shines with very bright lights onto all the antiques and expensive items Damon has been collecting for decades.

“Stupid! Why are you even styling there! Follow that cop to the basement!” venus's comments growled.

Moreno was surprised to see Venus' rude attitude this time. The boy was a little away from his mother. Venus is aware of it.

“I'm sorry. I got carried away. As soldiers, we'll follow you into the room and look for hostages. Not even broadcast live in the sitting room.”

Venus showed a sincere apology for her unworthy attitude. His son nodded, but he kept his distance from Venus.

“I am your mother, I will never hurt you!” venus is sad.

Finally Moreno had no time to embrace Venus. The two are back to live television. But indeed, the interesting thing about the raids was to follow the police in. Not even stylish in front of a room full of luxury goods!

Then Damon came out with his hands tied to his back. His head kept on the floor. Behind him the police chief held firmly the old man's hand, herding him towards the helicopter runway. The cameraman and the announcer chased him. But the police blocked them from approaching.

“Great grandfather ...” Moreno murmured.
