Chapter 15 - Studying Magic Books

After a long journey of searching for a suitable magic book, the remaining money was still quite a lot. Two magic books and one book about the Demon Rune script I got. I should have, that's enough, right?

I spent my free time in the Adventurer Guild while reading magic books. The elemental magic technique really caught my attention especially in the part about the utilization of reactions between elementals such as the fusion of elemental lysric magic with elemental water magic that created a combination of two elemental attacks into one. This magic book is very fragile. So, I have to be careful when turning the pages. I don't want to ruin this magic book before understanding the contents inside.

This magic book turned out to be written by someone who is calculating and creative. If only I had the capacity and ability to use magic. I will definitely try elemental magic according to the guide of this magic book.

On the other hand, magic books regarding spirit contracts were very different from elemental magic books. Rather than using magic, someone who successfully made a spirit contract would then gain spirit power and be able to use spirit magic based on spirit attributes. That means if I manage to contract with spirit then I can use spirit magic without having the capacity and ability to use magic. This was extremely efficient and terrifying, it was fortunate that only the Demon race had this kind of knowledge. Moreover, the spirit contract ritual uses hard-to-find catalyst materials such as dragon bones, wyvern scales, kobold head bones, and so on.

I've never tested my magic capacity because my father wouldn't let me out of the house. So, I don't know if I can use magic or not. With this magic book, there is no harm in contracting with spirit right? In theory, spirits do not fall into the category of magic.

I closed both of those magic books. Right now, the table I'm on is our former lunch table. After lunch is over, Mio holds my body and accompanies me to read the magic book. Since the lunch hour had ended, Mio's mother left to continue her work.

“Nee.. Mio, are dragon bones very expensive?” ask me.

“Dragon bones? That's very expensive Lily-sama. If not mistaken, the poor quality of the dragon bones ranged from 100 Silver Coins to 1 Gold” Coin Mio replied.

“That means I can only buy some dragon bones with money left and rely on luck for their poor or good quality.”

“Lily-sama, what does Lily-sama want to do with the dragon bone?”

“Only meet my curiosity only.”

“...” Mio speechless.

“It feels like Lily-sama is hiding something from ku” Mio puffed her cheeks and took her eyes off me. The position of my body was sitting on Mio's lap, but while talking our eyes met each other. It's a little strange if Mio turns her face away from me.

“A-Ah. This is for Alice and Alyssa. The magic book I read was a magic book regarding spirit contracts. To perform a spirit contract required the right catalyst material such as dragon bone and such.”

“Contract spirit?” ask the astonished Mio.

“Wait a minute! Lily-sama can read this?” continued Mio.

“Eng? At first I was in trouble but after understanding a few lines of words. I can understand the writing in it.”

“I-That was amazing, Lily-sama. Could it be that Lily-sama is a genius?”

“Eh? Is it that hard to learn foreign sentences?”

If that was the direct knowledge the Goddess gave me, I would not be able to ask that question. But, if talking about the Demon Rune script that needs to be learned. Some of the curves and symbols of the Demon Rune had their own distinctive features. The Demon Rune script and the human alphabet were not much different, only different letters and symbols were used but the placement of the meaning of sentences still used human language.

Was this Demon Emperor intentionally doing so for the human race to learn the Demon Rune script?

Or was this Demon Emperor intentionally doing so to introduce the existence of a spirit?

“Nee, Mio.. have you heard of spirit before?” out of curiosity, I asked Mio.

“Spirit? If it is not wrong there was never a group of adventurers who met them but the truth of the story is still questioned because of the existence of spirit that is difficult to prove.”

“Hmm. It gave me a small idea. Isn't today Mio's mother's birthday? Can I give a small gift to Mio's mother?”

“T-No need to bother like that Lily-sama. I-I'd be troubled if the gift was so precious.”

“It's okay, it's as a thank you for helping me earlier.”

I didn't hear Mio's answer but Mio's behavior turned her face away.

“Lily-sama..” Mio looked back at me.

Eh? Why these? It was like I was doing something wrong.

“A-Can I kiss Lily-sama like Mama?”

“Hue?” I can only be amazed to hear Mio's question.

I immediately handed my cheek to Mio. Different from Mio's mother, my heart was pounding as Mio's face approached me. This feeling was much different from before and a little embarrassing.

“M-Mioo That.. Umph!!”

Eh? Isn't this a little wrong? Mio's mother just kissed my cheek but why did Mio kiss my lips?

I slightly felt Mio's hand holding my cheek. I-It's not bad either and I love this gentle side of Mio. On Mio's lap, a soft kiss like this is very difficult to do but I don't mind it.

I could hear a small group of adventurers whispering around us, but Mio ignored them and continued our kiss.

After being satisfied, Mio slowly took off her little kiss and tightly hugged my body.

“Lily-sama..” ignores the views of those around her. Mio hugged my body tightly until a small punch hit Mio's head.

“Hauu!! Who hit me?! Oho! Mom.” Mio's mother stood behind Mio.

“Happy?” mio's mother asked in a cold tone.

“Huh?” Mio was a little confused by her mother's question.

Mio noticed the gazes and smiles of those around her until a red hue adorned her face.

“Eh.. Didn't I already belong to Lily-sama??” reply Mio by holding back her embarrassment.

“That's true anyway, but don't do it in public places!” reply Mother Mio with a high tone.

“Lily-sama is indeed cute but please hold your predator's attitude and don't give them a strange imagination!” continue Mio's mother's speech.

A strange imagination?

Whatdoes thatmean?

I realized the meaning of Mother Mio's words. All around us, several adventurers smiled towards us. Expressions of surprise, smiling, to withstand the shame etched in their natural.

At that very instant, shame began to attack me. I turned my face and covered my face to Mio's chest. I slightly hugged her body.

“Hyaaa! Lily-sama!” Mio was surprised as I hugged her body tightly.

“Ekhem! Lily-sama.” Mio's mother moved beside me.

“If this place feels uncomfortable, Lily-sama can use the private room available.”

I shook my head.

“I love this place” reply me while immersing my face in Mio's chest even deeper.

“Uguh!!” Mio's mother suddenly held onto her chest.

“What is this? why so cute like this? I-It's wrong but. somehow I don't want to throw away this scene” Mio's mumble.

Mio stroked my hair slowly, my body felt comfortable and started to get sleepy.

“Mphc.. Fuaah!!” I took a deep breath and smelled Mio's scent.

My eyelids felt heavy and the soft rubbing Mio gave me made me even more sleepy. Mio's soft caress felt very comfortable and wanted it to feel like I was asleep in her arms.

If I fall asleep in Mio's arms, it's okay right?

I succumbed to my drowsiness and slept in Mio's warm embrace.

“Lily-sama.” Mio kept stroking my hair until I slept.
