Chapter 10 - The Night Snooper

The orders my father issued were not nonsense. After that heavy dinner, Mio prepared my clothes and needs for a vacation.

“Mio, do you know the relationship between my father and the royal family?” ask me on the sidelines of Mio's activities.

A thin glint from the sword eye pointed towards my neck, my slowed gaze giving it enough time to dodge the attack.

The attack was supposed to hit my neck and cut my head off, just.. They were too slow in my eyes.

The violent attack hit the tree trunk behind me, I managed to dodge two quick attacks that targeted my neck.

“Hey, can we talk for a minute? What is your goal to-”

My question was cut short by a series of surprises from a distance. The attack came from a small slender blade and had a strange carving on its handle.

The strange blade suddenly exploded and emitted a thick white smoke. My eyes were covered with smog and my breath was tight. I relied on my instincts in this situation and detected tiny footsteps moving back against my body.

“Goodbye, little girl.” said a mysterious person behind me.

I shook my head and replied to her words, “Yup, goodbye.”

I smiled slightly and greeted the mysterious figure with another figure behind him.

Sparks of blood passed through my body. Behind the mysterious figure was a girl dressed in Maid clothes with a bloodstained sword in her hand.

“It was quite a long time consuming, Mio.”

“Ehehe.. But I was on time, Lily-sama” replied Mio with a big smile on her face.

The sudden appearance of Mio created a panic of its own. Small whispers began to occur among the mysterious figures. With small nods and hand language, they undo the intention to fight and run away from us.

Mio used Sakura Vanish and Sakura Dash to cut the distance between them. Once again, Mio's sudden appearance was like a black wolf trapping its prey. Mio's elegant sword movements had cut through their movements. Throughout their escape, thick drops of blood had soaked the ground. Mysterious pieces of feet and hands adorn the main courtyard of the residence of Marquess Rommel.
