Chapter 33 - Night Rumors

Me, Mio, Ciel, and Sia had dinner in my room. The dishes we ate were fried meat and some vegetables that were enough to replenish the wasted energy after a tough day.

Ciel and Sia enjoyed the fried meat dish that Mio cooked. This was the first time I had ever enjoyed dinner in my room with anyone other than Mio.

My dinner is usually accompanied by Mio and on certain days I have to attend a family dinner led by my father. Uh! I mean Marquess Rommel.

“Ugh.. M-Mio.” is right in front of me, dinner dishes served on the floor with a portion that pretty much makes my stomach contents scream.

“It seems, I can no longer eat it” hear my words, Mio who was sitting next to me immediately picked up my tableware and put it on a trolley located not far from the exit of my room.

“This, Lily-sama.” after completing her small task. Mio sat down next to me with a glass of fresh drink.

“Ah! Lily-sama.. There was a small stain on the lips. Can I clean it?” said Mio.

“Ung~” I did not answer Mio's question and gave my lips completely to clean.

A subtle sensation touched my lips. I could clearly see Mio's lips coming into contact with mine. After Mio cleaned up the remaining stains that were stuck on my lips, I accidentally glanced at Ciel and Sia who were busy observing us.

“Umm.. Nee-sama. May I ask you about one thing that makes me curious?”

“U.. Two things if allowed?” ask Ciel.

“Ung?” I replied to Ciel's question by looking at his face.

Ciel's dinner was gone and it seemed that Ciel was not planning to add to his meal.

“Umm.. Nee-sama.. Anoo..” Ciel's speech was slightly cut off and her face hue was slightly flushed.

I don't know what Ciel's thinking, but..

Nee-sama?

Why did Ciel call me Nee-sama?

Wasn't I the one who was supposed to call herself Nee-sama?

“Umm.. Just say..” reply me.

“Nee-sama.. Does Nee-sama with Mio-sama have a marriage relationship?” ask Ciel.

“Puufuuu!! Uhuuuk!!” ciel's question made Mio choke as she was enjoying a warm cup of tea beside me.

“Eng? We are not married” reply me to answer Ciel's question.

“Eh?? But why-“

Before Ciel continued his words, I cut him off with a speech that came from my little heart.

“We are not married but our relationship is more than that” I said to complete the previous answer.

“Puuuffff!!” this time, it was Sia who choked after hearing my answer.

“Kuuuu~” Mio who heard my answer could only fall silent and cover her face with both hands. I could see Mio's red ears and a small smile from behind the hands that covered her face.

“Ah! Apparently so. So, this Nee-sama is the head of the family?” ask the question Ciel.

Um, did our relationship make Ciel curious?

Ciel's change in behavior and his little questions made me realize something was happening to Ciel.

“B-Could say so” answer me to close Ciel's question.

“Nee-sama! Please accept me being part of your family!” pinta Ciel suddenly.

“Puufuuuu!!” Sia choked back after hearing Ciel's question.

“C-Ciel.. W-What did you just say?” said Sia while holding Ciel's body.

“Being part of the Lily-chan family is no easy feat! Especially with the troublesome noble tiers of mankind!” continue Sia's speech.

“Eh? Why do I have to deal with the human noble rank?” answer Ciel.

“Eh? M-What family do you mean?” ask Sia.

“Of course the Nee-sama family! Nee-sama who will be the head of the family leading the colony!”

“K-Colony? O-oh.. That was his point.” it seemed like Sia understood the meaning of Ciel's words.

“Umm.. can you please explain?” ask me.

I don't understand Ciel's words at all.

Family head?

Colony leader?

What the hell does that mean?

“Ehe.. Nee-sama! Please bite my tail!” pinta Ciel's.

“E-Eh?” hearing Ciel's request made me wonder about the meaning of his behavior.

Beside Ciel, Sia's facial expression looked surprised and her body trembled violently.

“C-Ciel?” said Sia while holding back her body vibration which was increasingly visible.

“A-What you just said!” snapped Sia.

“Hnng?” seeing Sia's changed behavior, Mio brought herself closer to me and whispered something.

“Lily-sama, I've heard of this before. Somewhere inhabited by certain races, tail biting is a symbol of engagement and to step into the marriage then both partners must bite the tail of their partner. I think such a tradition applies to their race” Mio whispered.

Hearing Mio's small whisper, I immediately realized Ciel's main purpose.

Using tradition to forge a bond is a pretty good idea.

But, can the tradition be done for fellow girls?

Moreover. doesn't Saintess have rules like not being married?

Why didn't I think of this before?!

“Mio, may I ask you about one thing that just crossed my mind?” ask me.

“Eng? What is it, Lily-sama?”

“It's true” reply Mio.

“If you follow the rules that apply in the Kingdom, marriage is run by lovers of different sex right?”

“Isn't all weddings like that?”

“Then let's just say we use rules outside the laws of the Kingdom. Mioo..” I stopped my words and looked both Mio's eyes.

“If I'm older, will Mio be willing to be my wedding partner? The Saintess rule that should not be married only applies to sex differences but there is no rule that prohibits to same-sex right?”

For some reason, I could hear the cold air blowing past me and the silent atmosphere pouncing on my room space.

Mio was silent in front of me.

“Miooo?” I could clearly see Mio's silent body frozen after hearing my words.

Em, was my speech wrong?

*Peeeeesssss~

“Mio?”

The expression on Mio's face slowly turned red and a small steam came out from her head.

“Mio, are you sick? Your face is flushed-“

“Lily-sama!! Mooooo! What did Lily-sama just say! Mooo!! Moooooooo!!”

I wanted to measure Mio's body temperature with my forehead, but Mio pushed my body to sleep on the floor.

“T-Please don't give me a high fantasy. I-I was just a waitress who couldn't possibly be Lily-sama-”'s wedding couple

“A-I'm just-”

Behind Mio's red face, a great worry was reflected in it like two desires that were mutually mastering each other.

Seeing Mio in this condition made my chest hurt.

Sometimes Mio can be stubborn and ignore my calls.

“Lily-chan is getting engaged?!”

“Nee-sama will be engaged?!”

Sia and Ciel seemed to hear our little talk.

“Lily-chan! Is that true?!”

Emm... How do I answer their questions?

I took off Mio's face hug and returned to the sitting position.

“Oh, the? I guess it'll be fine as long as this Royal Queen doesn't force Father-Ah! I mean Marquess Rommel to be that trashy fiancee” I almost said that forbidden sentence.

“Are those the people we met earlier?” ask Ciel.

“Um!” I nodded to answer Ciel's question.

“You mean, Mother of that sick little girl?” ask Sia.

“Eh? A sick little girl? What does that mean?” hearing Sia say about the sick little girl got me interested about it.

“Lily-chan, don't you know anything about this? The first princess of your kingdom has a disease that is difficult to cure. According to the rumors circulating, all the fake Saitness possessed by mankind is not able to cure his disease” said Sia.

“While they are fake Saintess, they still maintain their pride not to ask us for help. Though we have Elixir that is able to cure his disease” said Ciel.

“Eh? Is there an Elixir like that?” ask Ciel.

“Yep, Elixir like this Nee-sama!” from behind Ciel's palm was a glass bottle with a sparkling golden liquid.

A little idea came into my head.

“Nee.. Can I buy Elixir that?” ask me.

“Please Nee-sama. But, can I get paid by biting Nee-sama's tail?” reply Ciel.

“E-Eeeh?” I noticed Ciel's facial expression waiting for my answer.

Her smile was charming but..

For some reason, handing over my fox tail to bite felt like an embarrassing act.

“Nee-sama~” Ciel waits for my answer calmly and her fox tail is waving in front of me.

“I-It's a little embarrassing. But, I will also bite your tail!!” say it out loud to ease the shame. At least, by biting each other's tails was able to cover up my embarrassment.

“EEHH?!”

“EEEHHH?!!”

Hearing my answer, Sia and Mio looked surprised and shouted.
