Chapter 9 - The Plan to Escape

Marquess Rommel's family dinner went on as usual. The closeness of our family is closer than ever, it is because I have recognized the Marchioness Amagi as my new Mother.

“Dad.. Mamma.. Looks like I don't want to attend the party hosted by the King and Queen?” I'm at the middle of dinner. After thinking about it further, I chose not to attend the party invitation.

Alice and Alyssa looked at me with uneasy feelings. The disappointed look was on me.

To be honest, Mama and I were just trying to get over Mio's fear.

“Alice.. Alyssa's.. Why do you guys look sad like that?” as their brother, I realized the dark expression my sisters emitted.

“Of course, Sir. There are no mistakes in every available free time. Everything was filled as needed. Just in case, should we return some of the bodyguards and servants?” reply Sebastian.

“You mean to return them with a letter of resignation as a royal noble?” my father said with a smile and held back his little laugh.

Sebastian only smiled cynically after hearing my father's words. These adult conversations are very difficult for me to understand. As far as I'm concerned, Dad and Mama are planning a family vacation right on the day of the royal family's party.

“Mioo.. I'm handing Lily's needs to you!” mama said to Mio.

“Of course, I will prepare all the needs of Lily-sama” replied Mio.

“Alice.. Alyssa's.. Adjust your needs for a vacation after dinner. We're gonna run.. Ekhem! Vacation to the neighboring kingdom.”

Erms.. I didn't hear wrong, did I?

So, this is not a vacation but a run?

“Sebastian, please prepare a family horse carriage. Be sure to pick us up in the morning before the royal family party starts!” my father's orders to Sebastian.

“Of course, Sir! For the sake of escaping from this rotten kingdom, we will faithfully follow you” Sebastian replied while bowing his body in respect.

I-This is not the first time I heard the words “kabur” in their conversation.

“M-Mama.. W-we're going on vacation?” ask me to Mama.

“Hmng? What's up, Lily? You're very curious about this family vacation?” reply Mama.

“Umngh!” I just nodded.

“We are only on vacation to my hometown which is on the border of the neighboring kingdom. It was a comfortable place to vacation with beautiful views all around.”

“Uhm.. Urm.. I-I understand” reply.

I don't know what my parents thought.

It's just, isn't this what's called escaping from responsibility?

Ughhhh.. I don't know anymore. At least, some of our bodyguards and servants supported this plan.
