Chapter 19 - Sweet Dango

We enjoyed the hot spring together.

“Fuuuuaaahhh~” says Ibu Mio.

“Mmmpphh~” breath Mio.

“Muuunnyaa~” I unknowingly said this sentence after entering the hot spring pool.

The sensation of hot water wetting my skin felt very comfortable and made me a little sleepy.

“Lily-sama, this please.” Mio moved to my side while carrying a wooden tray containing snacks.

“Uhn? What is this?” I picked up one of the snacks from the wooden tray that Mio had brought.

“Dango” reply Mio.

This is the first time I've seen food like this. These foods are round in shape and have different colors. I slightly touched it and the outer texture felt chewy.

“Lily-sama. please open Lily-sama's mouth.” Mio suddenly told me to open my mouth. Before I knew it, Mio had been holding a chopstick containing dango and was ready to feed myself.

Mio's mother who was beside me just smiled and enjoyed a portion of her dango.

“Mio.. let Lily-sama try it and don't hide the chopsticks” said Ms. Mio while seizing the chopsticks Mio hid.

“Ehehe..” Mio only smiled after being caught hiding the chopsticks behind the wooden tray she was carrying.

“This is Lily-sama, please try it” said Ms. Mio.

I received the chopsticks given by Mio's mother and tried to clamp one dango. Since dango is round in shape, I had a little trouble pinning it down. The chopsticks I used always shifted the dango and the chewy texture of the dango made it even harder to clamp.

“Uh, it's very hard to clamp” I'm a little complaining. Using chopsticks is a little complicated for me because I'm not used to using them.

The etiquette for the nobility of our kingdom uses forks, spoons, and knives. While the cutlery named chopsticks was only introduced after our kingdom in cooperation with one of the eastern kingdoms.

“Ah! true too! Mioo!!” I immediately picked up the remaining two dangos and fed Mio the same way.

“Muuu-Nyaaahmm!!” I slightly forced Mio to take a bribe from my mouth.

With this, the score between myself and Mio became balanced!

Strange sounds were heard around me. This time, several women and the stewards of the hot spring were lying on the floor with little blood coming out of their noses.

“Lily-sama, let's hurry home now” said Mio's mother who suddenly stood up and walked away from the hot spring pool.

“Muunya~ Muuu~ Lu-Luly-sumu~” Mio pulled my hand out of the hot spring pool while chewing the dango left in her mouth.

We dried up and put on change of clothes. The clothes that Mio gave me were very suitable on my body especially with the ribbon decorations that adorned my head.

As we exited the inn, the people around me looked at me closely.

Do my clothes look strange in the eyes of the general public?

Mio clasped my hands tightly and stared intently at the people observing me.

“Just relax, Lily-sama. They are simply fascinated with the timidity of Lily-sama. Isn't that right, Mama?”

Mio's mother stopped walking and held my body.

“Of course, Lily-sama is a cute little Maid and sweet” seductive Mother Mio.

“T-Thank you” said to me.

Such a subtle compliment made my mood feel good. This is the first time I have enjoyed such a warm atmosphere.

“A-What do you guys do?” Mio's mother endured her embarrassment after Mio's father did a small surprise.

“Mama definitely didn't think if Dad prepared a surprise like this right?” Mio slightly teased her mother.

“There are still other surprises inside! Let's go inside!” take Mio's father while pushing Mio's body into the house.

Mio pushed my body into her house.

Inside Mio's house, I could smell the smell of dinner cooking and see a small box as a surprise gift for Mio's mother.

It reminds me of one thing.

I didn't prepare a gift for Mio's mother!

W-What should I do to give him a gift?

I-I need something special as a gift!

Right now, I can only think of one special gift that is suitable for Mio's mother.

But, that little gift requires careful preparation.

“Mio.. can I request some sheets of paper?” ask Mio.

Without giving an answer, Mio rushed to look for a piece of paper.

Drawing a spirit contract on paper is not a bad idea as a birthday gift right?
