Chapter 18 - Marquess Rommel Night Atmosphere

The residence of Marquess Rommel looked different from usual. A sumptuous dinner feels empty without the presence of the head of the family who is busy taking care of work.

Inside the workspace of Marquess Rommel were several loyal servants accompanying her.

Something had happened and caught the attention of Marquess Rommel.

“I heard there are several groups of small wolves wandering around the forest and trying to enter the city?” ask Marquess Rommel.

“And the incident experienced by Lily happened because of the carelessness of the forest guardians, is it true?” marquess Rommel said.

“It hurt me so much when Lily left without telling her her purpose and preferred to meet one of our Maid workers instead of relying on her father to look for a weapon. Tell me, have I failed at being a father?”

There was no reply spoken from his subordinates, all bowed when Marquess Rommel questioned the matter.

“Marquess Rommel, maybe this happened because you pay less attention to Lily-sama”, replied Sebastian who stood next to Marquess Rommel.

“You know for yourself how the political situation of this kingdom is right? I still have to deal with one of the Duke to control his power to the point of having to bother marrying his widowed daughter and bringing her children.”

“And that's what makes Lily-sama like this” Sebastian replied briefly.

Marquess Rommel fell silent after hearing Sebastian's reply, he recalled the fond memories of being with the Marchioness before. Lily's biological mother is now dead.

“I don't know what Marchioness thought before, but why would she make such a will?” ask Marquess Rommel.

“Maybe it happened because the Marchioness was previously a close friend of Princess Duke.”

“But, doesn't mean I should marry her after she leaves right?”

“There may be a reason why Marchioness made such a will.”

“By the way, how is the state of the royal family after the incident? I didn't expect that the First Prince would do such a thing to Lily. I know Lily is special, but events like that have been so outrageous.”

“Marquess, I think it's time for you to attend dinner” Sebastian said.

“Marquess Rommel, I think this is quite useful advice for you. Try to understand the condition of Lily-sama and your new family.”

“Kuh! I-I know it!” Marquess Rommel stood up from her chair and headed towards the dining room. Sebastian who became his personal Butler also followed the footsteps of his Master.

Marquess Rommel arrived at the front door of the dining room. He stopped his steps and took a long breath.

“Marquess Rommel?”

“A-I just calmed down before facing them.”

Sebastian stepped forward to open the entrance of the dining room.

“T-Wait.. Sebastian! H-Hey!!”

*Kraaak!!

The dining room door was wide open, the scene in front of them was the Marchioness awaiting the arrival of Marquess Rommel and her children.

“P-Papa!!”

“Paapaaa!”

Alice and Alyssa who saw Marquess Rommel rushed towards him and hugged him.

“Papa's job is done?”

Alice and Alyssa questioned the same thing. Marquess Rommel looked puzzled by the sudden question.

“Goodnight, Marquess Rommel” far in front of the dining table is a woman sitting waiting for the arrival of Marquess Rommel. She is a new Marchioness and stepmother to Lily.

“A-Amagi.. Uh! I mean Marchioness Amagi. Sorry. I'm not used to this” said Marquess Rommel.

The age of their marriage is fairly new so that mispronunciation of nicknames often occurs.

“T-It's okay, I also want to get used to my new family title” reply Marchioness Amagi.

The new family continued their dinner.

“Papa! Why is Onee-sama still not back?” suddenly Alice asked this.

“Umu! Even Lily-nee wasn't in her room until the afternoon!” Alyssa also entered into the conversation.

“Lily is still not back?” ask Marchioness Amagi.

“He is currently at the residence of Helena, one of the kingdom's greatest former adventurers. We met this afternoon at the city gate after her son waited for my arrival and asked permission to look after Lily for a while.”

“Eh? Lily's in town? How can?” The Marchioness Amagi was shocked by the words of Marquess Rommel.

“That's a problem. Our horse-drawn carriage isn't out all? How is Lily in town?” ask Marquess Rommel.

“Marquess Rommel, based on testimony from the gatekeeper of the Mansion. Lily-sama went for a walk without bringing in bodyguards and the city gate guard soldiers said if Lily-sama reached the city in a running condition” Sebastian replied.

Marquess Rommel and Marchioness Amagi were shocked by Sebastian's reply.

“Isn't the distance between our Mansion and the city far enough?” ask Marchioness Amagi.

“What is the city gate guard soldier telling the truth?” Marquess Rommel continued the question of the Marchioness Amagi.

“With all due respect, Marquess Rommel. Is a little girl who has dark skin and wears a white robe very hard to see in the morning?” reply Sebastian.

“As a parent, isn't it time for you to understand your child's needs? Giving a large sum of money to a small child to buy a sword is not common for parents. Even the King and Queen sent a small army to watch over their children while in the city”, Sebastian said.

“Ugh!” Marquess Rommel was hit by a small unseen blow from Sebastian.

Meanwhile, the Marchioness Amagi seems devastated by Lily's departure.

“In addition, it seems that Lily-sama has great potential stored up to this point. Even Helena-sama looks overwhelmed while fighting Lily-sama” Sebastian's remark on this one invites the attention of everyone in the dining room.

“Marquess Rommel, sometimes your attitude that does not care about the environment is a blessing in itself for us” heard this Sebastian remark, all Maid and Butler who served in the dining room nodded in agreement.

“In the fight match for Maid named Sakura Mio, Lily-sama managed to defeat Helena-sama in a one-on-one match. Even I bought the recording of their match from one of the staff on duty” Sebastian rushed to put a round crystal recorder on the dining table.

A small screen opens and displays the match between Lily and Helena. All the Maid and Butler who were inside the dining room were shocked by Lily's ability to weave a sword with a smooth and elegant movement.

“I-It's Lily's ability?” ask Marquess Rommel to make sure.

“That's right, Marquess Rommel. It seems, Lily-sama has a pent-up ability and the incident regarding the wolf attack triggered her pent-up talent to come out.”

“Yang means. Someone who defeated the black wolf was.. Lily?”

“Kurasa..” briefly reply Sebastian.

After the little question Marquess Rommel answered. A minor riot took place at the residence of Marquess Rommel. Without Lily knowing, some Maid girls who saw the live match recording between Lily and Helena also formed a special faction that admired Lily's greatness.
