034: Changes in Attitude

"Assalamu'alaikum, Kinan? The newlyweds have entered, anyway? How's things? Oh, God, Ki. I'm happy, you're married to a man who's much better than Hamzah's doctor, Ki," says Mirna, a pediatrician at Kinan's place of employment.

Kinan gasped, he did not expect his first day at work would attract the attention of doctors, hospital staff and nurses and their staff. Kinan smiled and answered the greetings of Dr. Mirna and her colleagues. "Vaalaikumsalaam. Thank goodness."

Dude finally arrives at the hospital, where Kinan works. He immediately searches for Kinan's whereabouts, but he instead runs into Angga's doctor

At her place, Kinan was helping a girl who was being cared for in the rose room. Kinan helped the boy take medicine and others.

The child was about six years old.

"You know, I'd like to get married if I was a big girl, Sister." The boy's grin makes Kinan also wrap a sweet arch around his lips.

"You're a kid, the most important thing now is you have to heal first, yeah."

"But my mother said, no one will marry me later."

"Where might your mom say that, baby. You must have listened less to your mama's words, huh." Kinan responded casually, putting the medicine into the child's mouth, then gave him a glass of water.

Kinan looked at the boy's clear eyes, the smile on his lips was very sincere. Then, when a child who clearly has such flaws can still smile, why now Kinan even continues to complain about his condition.

The little boy continued to smile, even though he was suffering from paralysis, his legs could not walk.

Kinan did not know, he felt very sad because of the little girl's words, or because of his own problems. Kinan should not be that easy to trust someone other than his mother, who truly loves him. But, she instead trusted Dude, the man who despite marrying her, but still, they were just starting to get to know each other.

Dude gasped for air as he had to climb the emergency stairs leading to the rose room. Dude wanted to take the elevator, but the elevator was full and she had to wait again for the next elevator, while she felt uneasy because Kinan's attitude changed.

"I need to get to Kinan's place quickly."

Dude walked back quickly, and he still had to walk a bit far because the hospital where Kinan worked was quite large.

Kinan leaned his body in front of the door of the rose room while letting his tears flow during the quiet state of no one. Since then Kinan just kept holding back from crying, and he also did not want to cry in front of the man who did not have any special feelings for him.

"Kinan!"

Kinan's eyes were rounded with a streak of shedding tears drenching his cheeks. His hearing clearly captures the sound of someone calling him, and Kinan remembers it as Dude.

"Kinan! I finally met you."

Kinan raised his face, unfortunately Kinan could no longer hide his sadness back then.

"Ki, are you crying?"

Kinan. "No," she answered and wiped her tears, starting to bravely raise her face to look at Dude. "What are you going to do here?"

Dude feels more and more unwell, he thinks Kinan must be very hurt because of his attitude. "Ki, I have something to talk to you about."

Kinan smiled. "Byeah, Mas. I just happen to want to talk about it with Mas."

Dude then tries to touch Kinan's hand but Kinan pulls his hand away. "I'm back to work, Mom. I still have a job now. Excuse me, assalamu'alaikum."

"Wa'alaikumsalam." Dude squeezed his palm with mixed feelings, he thought Kinan really hated him now. But he still has to explain everything.
