Leister nodded and sat down beside Lolita who had just placed her teacup on the table. The rustling of the leaves was heard again as the wind stroked the black hair of Ivew's back tied in ponytails.
“Why did you both choose a meeting place here?” Ivew asked, sitting in the chair in front of the two.
Lolita smiled and glanced at the neatly sheathed sword on her waist. Ivew nodded in understanding and glanced at the black forest that was in front of him. The aura the forest exuded felt different, even though they were thirty meters away but Ivew could feel a different wind flowing around the forest. Veister's cat that was in Ivew's arms moved to attract the attention of the two Flowerlax nobles in front of him.
“What is this cat yours, Ivew?” ask Lolita. The girl with emerald eyes nodded in response.
A reddish silver glow was present around Leister and Ivew's bead eyes saw Grein appearing and flying freely around them. Veister's cat rolled back into Ivew's arms. The girl's fingers moved around stroking Veister's shiny black fur reminiscent of her being the Cona of the previous world who always did the same thing on her wheelchair.
“So, Ivew how did you decide? Will you ... be on our side?”
The movements of Ivew's hand rubbing Veister's black fur came to a halt and looked at Leister who was displaying a smile. The girl frowned in surprise with the expression the two displayed.
“I want to ask ... Why do you both strongly urge me to make this decision? Do you want to harness my power?”
Leister fell silent upon hearing the irritated intonation of Ivew's question. Lolita who was beside him smiled trying to melt the atmosphere.
“We understand your curiosity especially we just met. But, Ivew we do not want you to be used by the duke as a tool to expand his power.”
“Then what will I get if I join your side, Young Miss? Is this to your advantage as the heir to Flowerlax?” Ivew asked starting to use the information he remembered from the novel.
Lolita who was in front of him fell silent while Leister glanced at Lolita's face. The young man sighed, quite surprised by the answer Ivew gave. Leister certainly understood the suspicion Ivew had shown them both but they had no other choice. If they want to survive then they must take advantage of the opportunity in plain sight.
“Maybe true but I didn't use you, Ivew. I just want to survive as Lolita Flowerlax and take over the Duke's power rights as soon as possible,” Lolita replied after a long silence.
“Lolita's right. We would be embarrassed if you found out about the Flowerlax family's internal problems. But the two of us have no choice Ivew, if the duke can make sure you have the power of nature referred to in the Flowerlax prophecy then your life will be full in his control.”
“You know, Ivew. I just don't want to see anyone else in his control anymore. Enough of the two of us who feel it, fighting each other but in the end the old man who still holds the power. He just enjoyed the drama we created for him.”
Ivew fell silent and looked at Lolita with a flat look. Grein, who was flying around them, was now perched on a table next to Ivew's fingers on the table. Leister put down her teacup and glanced at Lolita. The tension eased slightly as Veister who was inside Ivew's arms suddenly woke up and jumped to make the teacup in front of Ivew spill.
A strong wind hit the three who started to retreat a few steps. Lolita also gripped the head of the sword at her waist while Ivew was silent when she realized that her bow was hanging from the body of her beloved horse. The girl's emerald bead glanced at some silver-colored cake knives located on the table and immediately grasped them.
“What is a monster?” asked Leister who was standing in front of Lolita and Ivew.
“I don't know! Is it possible that the monster escaped the supervision of military soldiers?” ask Lolita.
The rustling of the trees in the distance rang out loud making the three more alert. Several crows appeared to come out from the rows of trees before his eyes. Several Flowerlax family knights seemed to be running from behind them along with a huge shock that shook their footing. Ivew closed his eyes tightly as strong winds mixed with dusty soil swept through his eyes.
Lolita and Leister immediately took out their swords guarding from the approaching foreign figure. The sound of the monster's footwork echoed along with a white net that shot out from within the forest crashing into one of the frontmost guarding kstaria and pulled the unfortunate body into the forest.
“Retreat! Keep your distance and stay focused!”
Leister's shout echoed along with the black-colored giant spider monster that appeared with red blood on its legs and dripped from its mouth. The other Kstaria raised the sword even though her hands were trembling. Ivew who was behind Leister and Lolita slightly trembled looking at the monster in plain sight. The girl clasped the cake knife tightly in her hand and straightened her legs to stay standing. The spider monster in front of them began to move as it felt the sunlight hitting its body.
The sharp feathers on the ten legs and also the back of his body seemed to sparkle in the sunlight. The knight standing at the very front stood guard with a focused look and started attacking. The spider monster again took out its web capturing the prey that happily ran towards it.
“We are short of weapons,” muttered Leister staring at the knights in front of them who were trying to pave the way for him to attack.
“You back off first, Ivew!” lolita stood beside Leister.
The emerald-eyed girl was just silent, staring at the chaos before her eyes. Leister began to run attacking helping one of the knights who was cornered by the monster's foot in front of him. His silver sword slashed at the spider web that was about to wrap around the body of the kstaria. Lolita stood still on the spot with her sword thrust forward keeping watch from the possibility of another attack.
Leister slashed at one of the spider monster's right legs making the monster's body slant and scream with a shrill voice. His eyes gazed towards the distance and met the gaze of Ivew who was focused on guarding. The monster again shouted and immediately took out its net along with a sharp thorn in its left foot. Leister's ruby beads that were nearby widened and glanced at the direction of the monster's attack.
“Lolita! Ivew! Watch out!”
