20 - Protective Wall

They approached the source of the sound and found red spots along the way. Lolita's pomegranate bead widens when it finds something that sparkles when exposed to sunlight. They passed the last tree in the black forest that was behind them and were greeted with a long object filled with blood that was on top of the body of the horse that ran in panic earlier.

Blood was still flowing from the body of the horse that was no longer moving. The distance from them by the horse position was about ten meters and in front of them a distance of thirty meters lay the imperial protective wall. The sixty-meter-high solid white wall was towering.

“That must be a monster attack, right?” asked Lolita who replied nod by Leister. The ruby bead of the young man looked at the scene in front of them which was too silent.

Laveron's navy bead stared at the protective wall in plain sight. They were still on each other's horses and keeping watch from the worst possible. Veister's cat who was in Laveron's arms meowing attracted all of their attention. Laveron glanced at Ivew who was staring at him miserably.

“Do we have to go up the wall?” lolita asked with a focused look at the dead horse not far from them.

“Too at risk we are also unlikely to leave our horses. We also do not bring any experts sih-”

Leister's voice was cut off and everyone who was aware of his continuation glanced at the speechless Ivew. The girl sighed and stared at the wall in front of her, very high and also they did not know what awaited as they passed the corpse of the horse that was still draining the blood. Ivew moved the wind in his hand about to take the long machete that was still embedded in the body of the poor horse.

“There was something strange about that horse! You should stay away!”

The wind was heard by Ivew. The girl's hand movements came to a halt as she felt something pull her wind. The knife seemed to be embedded in the ground and inalienable. In fact, Ivew almost fell off his horse if Lolita had not restrained his body. The girl immediately let go of her wind control and began to cry out to the others to stay away.

The Veister cat who realized it made a protective shield silently within five meters of them. The body of the horse in front of them suddenly moved making Lolita cry out in panic, they immediately moved away to the right with their horse.

The dead horse seemed to move and ran towards them with a long machete still stuck in its stomach. Amidst the panic the horse that was running towards them suddenly exploded scattering all parts of its body. Fortunately the shield Veister made protected them from the blood that was about to hit them.

Laveron and Leister fell silent. Lolita glanced towards the direction where the horse lay before and found a black-robed figure staring at them. The pomegranate-eyed girl was about to tell the others but the figure soon disappeared being replaced by the same monster that attacked them in the middle of the swamp. The slight difference was the size of the monster that was larger than the size of the monster near the swamp.

The military forces immediately took out their weapons and bombs. Laveron, Leister and Lolita were also on standby with their swords. Ivew began to prepare with his arrows and started firing one of his arrows at the top of the monster's body.

The Veister cat who had already dispelled her invisibility magic fell silent staring at the strange object on the protective wall. The cat's two-colored eye bead saw a slight crack in the protective wall that should have been coated in high-level protective magic.

The black cat meowing drew Laveron's attention to the wall in front of him. The young man's navy bead caught sight of the thing Veister's cat and immediately whispered to Leister who was beside him. The ruby-eyed youth looked in the direction Laveron was referring to and fell silent. The squeaky sound of the monster in front of him drew back the attention of the two young men.

The monster in front of them looked calm as an arrow. Ivew hit his body. The monster opened its mouth and took out the same green liquid as the monster before.

Ivew again heard the sound of the wind and immediately controlled the wind with both hands. The light blue colored wind on his palm moved to form a vault of wind and protected them from the incoming green liquid. The ground around them was emitting smoke.

“I will help strengthen his shield.”

Veister's voice rang out on Ivew's still busy head defending his wind shield. The emerald-eyed girl nodded and refocused on the movement of the wind in her hands.

The monster in front of them squeaked and again released a green liquid that continued to hit Ivew's wind shield. The girl held a numbness in her hand as she continued to maintain the wind shield. The foul smell of the liquid was enough to break Ivew's focus trying to strengthen the density of his wind shield. Veister's silver shield appeared to coat Ivew's wind shield and immediately fused. The black cat made a slight sound as it watched its shield melt due to the liquid of the monster.

Laveron hugged Veister's cat tightly and asked quietly about her condition. The black cat meowed in response and Laveron's navy bead refocused on Ivew, who was busy defending his shield. Lolita who was behind him fell silent staring at Ivew's trembling back.

“We have to find another way!” lolita shouted as Ivew began to grimace and break out in cold sweat.

“Sorry .. but I can't hold this shield any longer. My wind control is still weak.”

Ivew spoke softly but could be heard by all groups. One of the flowerlax knights who participated advised them to split up to make it easier for them to defeat monsters. Laveron glanced at the surrounding atmosphere and began to work out a plan with Leister.

They decided to split the three teams. The first team consisted of Laveron and his fellow military soldiers, the second team consisted of Leister and the accompanying flowerlax knights and the third team consisted of Ivew, a, Lolita and the Veister cat they are about to leave with the girls.

The two girls were up in the trees and staring at the fight from above the sky, with Ivew who would use his wind shield in case something happened outside of the plan. The emerald-eyed girl nodded and responded to the reuse of her wind shield.

“I'll help. Just relax!”

Veister's voice rang out in Ivew's head and the girl nodded. Her emerald bead meets the eye with Laveron's navy bead. The young man smiled and prepared to run out of the wind shield. Both teams have started to walk in their respective directions, Laveron team left and Leister team right. Ivew took a breath and tried to focus his strength. Loosening the wind on the shield dome on the right and left to make it easier for the two teams to get out.

“Now! Hurry up!”
