Great Swordsman
Ch.15 - Breaking through

“This feeling is so intoxicating.”

Xu Feng groaned enjoying the feeling of breaking through. His body was once again washed away by the qi energy that was absorbed through his meridians before it was diffused throughout his body.

But this time it was a little different. The rise to the Second Stage realm only increased Xu Feng's muscular strength and toughness whereas rising to the Third Stage realm strengthened each of his bones.

After the feeling of breaking through disappeared, Xu Feng stretched his body and noticed that his flexibility had increased tremendously.

The current Xu Feng was more flexible, explosive and nimble.

“I can manipulate my body more smoothly.”

Xu Feng was very clear over the changes to his body.

“The accuracy of the Heavenly Sword Technique increases to a new level thanks to the effects of reaching the Third Stage. I am now able to perform movements from complicated angles with ease. My attacks will be more diverse and more difficult to anticipate!

“And also, although the range of Shadow Steps does not change but the speed is becoming faster!”

Xu Feng took a deep breath after finishing analyzing the changes to his body. He feels happy.

“No wonder this stage is referred to as the Controlling Stage. The feeling of lightness and power over every inch of the body is truly remarkable.”

When Xu Feng's two techniques were superimposed with the Third Stage realm, he could already be considered entering the ranks of strong people.

He could even enter the ranks of the top geniuses in the Lotus Sect. There were not many young people who could achieve Xu Feng's achievements.

He had now solidified his solid foundation in the cultivation world!

“Being a traveler really makes me poor. No stable source of resource income.”

Xu Feng clenched his fists deeply and grew increasingly thirsty for spiritual stones. However he was aware that after leaving the Lotus Sect, his chance of meeting spiritual stones would be even smaller.

Such precious things were only scattered among the various large factions. They basically monopolized the spiritual stones.

“I hope some good things happen in the future.”

Xu Feng could only hope. He then shook his head and brushed off his thoughts before heading back towards Gao Gao.

He didn't want to worry her for waiting too long.

When Xu Feng arrived, all he saw was Gao Gao who was sound asleep in the shade of one of the trees. His snoring was clearly heard in Xu Feng's ears.

He could even rest in a place like this! He seemed to know no alert nature at all.

Xu Feng was stunned. He immediately approached the sleeping pig and kicked it hard, causing Gao Gao to jerk up.

“Enemy!?”

He immediately shouted in surprise but his eyes were still in a daze.

“Enemy? Enemy your ass!”

Xu Feng was a little annoyed and kicked him once again. What kind of fool would dare to fall asleep in the wilderness without any care at all?

“Duh stop! Your kick hurts you know?”

Gao Gao grimaced in pain. He's not lying. Xu Feng had indeed used half his strength when kicking him.

“Do you think yourself a saint who cannot die? Even the Goddess of Fortune won't be able to save you if you keep doing silly things!”

Gao Gao's answer was just an indistinct murmur. He even cursed his misfortune for not being able to recover his energy well.

“You..”

Xu Feng gave up. He didn't know how to fix the kid's logic.

“Come idlers! We have to continue on!”

“Are you trying to kill me!?”

Gao Gao coughed a few times and looked at Xu Feng's back in disbelief. Yet Xu Feng continued walking and simply waved his hand.

Looking at Xu Feng's increasingly distant back, Gao Gao could only follow with a look of resentment. He promised that one day he would repay this debt.

The roar of a demonic beast came after, causing every feather on Gao Gao's body to stand.

“Brothers.. Wait for me!”

He immediately shouted and ran with all his might following Xu Feng.

……..

It had been fifteen days since they had traveled.

In front of them faintly presented the shadow of a village. This was the fifth village they had travelled through during the trip.

“Do we have to log in or ignore it?”

Gao Gao whispered beside Xu Feng. He asked so because of the experience they had gone through in the villages before. Some villages received them warmly but some did not receive guests and drove them away violently.

They were even chased by mobs from one of the poor villages for killing cows belonging to one of the farmers. All because Gao Gao accidentally met a wolf and ran frantically towards the fields which eventually caused the poor cow to die in the mouth of the predator.

The new state ended when Xu Feng showed his strength as a Third Stage controller. The village chief then even started treating them like guests of honor.

“Of course we have to go in, our food reserves are almost exhausted. Need to recharge.”

Xu Feng said as he pointed at the backpack that was behind his back.

“Good.”

Gao Gao nodded lightly and gulped. He himself felt bored and tired after a long journey for days. He longs for a comfortable resting place.

“We will spend the night in this village.”

The two of them walked towards the village.

The village was named Huo Village, where the Huo clan settled with a population of three thousand people, a large village. At least according to the information they obtained from the previous village.

The village was surrounded by solid wooden walls. Each wall peg is made of one whole tree trunk.

As Xu Feng and Gao Gao approached, they noticed some clan members patrolling above the wooden wall. They held spears and moved back and forth.

One of the clan members noticed their arrival and shouted.

“Stop!”

The guard examined the two from top to bottom carefully and realized the two were young. It is rare to see travelers as young as them.

He immediately spoke softly and asked their interests. Xu Feng naturally replied that he wanted to stay in the village for one night.

The guard nodded and told Xu Feng about the inn not far in the northern part of the village. Before leaving, he reminded the two of them not to riot while in the village.

“Do not worry, we will remember it!”

Xu Feng nodded and made sure. He deliberately did not let out his aura because Xu Feng felt it was unnecessary. He is not a typical person who likes to show off.

“Alright then. Welcome to Huo Village!”

The patrolmen then allowed them to enter the village.

Xu Feng thanked him and walked through the gate. Gao Gao who was following beside him glanced at his surroundings with a curious look and soon got bored quickly.

There was nothing unique about Huo Village, everything was almost the same as the villages he had been through.
