Great Swordsman
Ch.40 - Soul Contract

“How can it?” Shao Jun leaped back and widened his eyes, he could not believe that his sword techniques that were at an advanced realm could be stopped that easily.

“Brother, help me! This guy seems more complicated than imagined.” Shao Jun immediately shouted but did not get an answer. He turned around and found Shao Kun just standing like a statue and looked at Xu Feng in horror.

Xu Feng on the other hand was slightly surprised, reaching the advanced realm in two techniques at once was somewhat rare to find. The reason he was able to withstand it so easily was because the difference in strength between the Third Stage and the Fourth Stage was like a ravine, a mere technique could not bridge that difference.

“You are indeed a worthy person.”

Xu Feng praised. At the same time, his body turned blurry and appeared next to Shao Jun, the man did not even have time to react when Xu Feng pointed a fist at his stomach.

“Ughh.” Shao Jun was thrown far back and smashed into one of the trees in the courtyard, a lot of blood spurting out of his mouth. Although full of pain, a look of fear could not be hidden on his face, he only realized everything when he saw the transparent light that enveloped Xu Feng's hand.

A Fourth Stage Master!

“Sialan.” Shao Jun cursed inwardly and wanted to beat up the person who gave him information about Xu Feng. Third Stage what, that person was clearly trying to send him to the grave door.

“Master, please stop!”

Shao Kun hurriedly begged as he saw Xu Feng walking towards Shao Jun, he couldn't possibly let his brother get killed in this place.

“What advantage do I get if I let you guys live?” Xu Feng snorted lightly, he would never be merciful towards his enemy.

“This.” Shao Kun was stunned for a while before gritting his teeth and kneeling in front of Xu Feng.

“My brother and I are ready to swear allegiance to you.” Shao Kun said solemnly. He had no choice, in order to save his life and his brother, he chose the last path.

“That's it? How do I know you won't betray me in the future?” Xu Feng was not immediately tempted, he was instead staring sharply at Shao Kun.

Shao Kun's face turned pale, he didn't expect Xu Feng to be demanding like that. When he hesitated, Xu Feng let out a cold snort and was about to swing his sword at Shao Jun.

Shao Kun hurriedly shouted, “We are willing to use a Soul Contract!”

Hearing that, even Shao Jun widened his eyes in disbelief, he tried to resist but Shao Kun immediately stopped his actions.

“Master, I have two Soul Contracts that we once obtained from a cultivator.” Shao Kun was so resolute and took out two pieces of yellow paper, to which many ancient writings and mysterious strange runes were imprinted.

Xu Feng was stunned to see it, he did not expect small cultivators like them to have such an extremely precious treasure. In the Lotus Sect alone, there would be no more than ten Soul Contracts that were proof of how valuable this item was.

It was unknown who made it, and no one could make it as far as was known. The precious item was only found inside the ancient ruins belonging to cultivators of unknown origin, many suspected that the ancient ruins that sometimes appeared were the heritage of cultivators from old times.

“How can!?” Xu Feng was surprised, he did not understand how these two people could still live until now with such a precious object in their bodies, a war between cities could have happened if this item was known.

A Soul Contract that could enslave a person no matter how high his strength was not a thing that could be spread to the outside world, great powers were unlikely to allow that frightening thing to be held by a random person.

It would be disastrous if it fell into the hands of the Demon Cultivators.

“Sial.” Xu Feng hurriedly snatched the Soul Contract from Shao Kun's hands and immediately enveloped it with his qinya in order for the aura from the contract not to come out into the outside world.

Xu Feng broke out in cold sweat, he felt the weight in his hands was enormous despite just holding onto a mere paper. The meaning and value behind the paper was something that even weighed on Xu Feng's body, it felt like holding a nuclear weapon button!

Xu Feng tried to suppress his anxiety and fell into deep thought, he was thinking how to handle the thing. He asked Shao Kun how they could freely take him unnoticed but the answer he got was Shao Kun's confused face.

“No other way.”.

But Xu Feng also had no choice, he did not dare to keep the thing for too long. Otherwise, God knows what his death will be like tomorrow.

Xu Feng immediately bit his finger and poured a drop of blood over the two contracts before handing it over to Shao Kun and Shao Jun.

“Drip your blood fast!” Xu Feng's heart bled when he handed the contract over, he felt like he was holding a handful of 24-carat diamonds but could not exchange them for money at all.

Shao Kun instantly obeyed but Shao Jun did not, he tried to resist but Shao Kun immediately closed his mouth and bit his brother's finger.

Shao Jun could only cry tearlessly as his blood poured down on the paper.

After all the processes were completed, the Soul Contract turned into a golden light that immediately flew towards Xu Feng and the two brothers before disappearing without leaving any dust.

In Xu Feng's mind, he felt a strange closeness to a mysterious force that was infusing himself with Shao Kun and Shao Jun.

“Good, from now on you must obey everything I say.” Xu Feng sighed in relief, the burden in his heart lifted after the Soul Contract disappeared.

“Good sir!” Shao Kun kneeled respectfully, something told him that if he refused or tried to betray Xu Feng, he would soon die.

Xu Feng nodded, he then ordered Shao Kun to lift Shao Jun up and bring him to the Villa to be treated. Even though he currently had no healing pills let alone alchemists, taking care of him for a few days should be able to cure him.

After all Xu Feng did not hurt his internal organs too much.

“Protectors, what happened!?”

Not too long later Ding Xiang arrived with many clan members, he noticed the commotion that was happening in the courtyard of Villa Xu Feng and immediately gathered dozens of people. Xue Yan was the most panicked, as Xu Feng's personal guard, everything that happened was his responsibility.

“Nothing, only two guests lacking manners.”

Xu Feng waved and replied flatly, he pointed at Shao Jun who was now lying on the sofa and was being cared for by Shao Kun.

“This...” Ding Xiang was a little stunned, what kind of guest would require the host to hit him to a pulp?

Different from Ding Xiang, many of the clan members immediately recognized the two brothers.

“Sial, aren't they the famous Twin Sword Duo?”

“real? I originally thought they were just similar.”

All the clan members glanced at each other in astonishment, these two famous cultivators were defeated by Xu Feng just like that?

Everyone inevitably looked at Xu Feng with adoration and admiration, they had not expected Xu Feng to be so strong as to be able to defeat the two alone.

“Protectors.” Ding Xiang was a little worried and immediately approached Xu Feng, he spontaneously inspected every body of Xu Feng and only stopped when he realized Xu Feng was not injured in the slightest.

His actions caused many people to be stunned, some worried Xu Feng was angry about his sudden behavior.

Xu Feng was not flinching otherwise. No, rather it was that he could not move his body in the slightest, his body tensed and stiff.

That familiar face and figure again flashed in his head..
