Ch.66 - Shocking News!

The train arrives at the destination. Xu Feng, Zhao Quan and Zhao Jun got off the carriage and looked into the distance. From there, a faint shadow of an army march that extended like a dragon appeared behind the hill.

“They are here.” Xu Feng muttered softly, his heart pounding slightly. After all, this was an army heading towards the battlefield, the aura and atmosphere emitted by that army was naturally different. It feels gloomy and scary.

Ordinary people would be depressed and feel tight at heart if faced with such an army.

“What a great team.” Xu Feng clicked his tongue, he could feel the seriousness and killing intent emitted from each soldier even though the distance between them was far, the momentum was truly overwhelming. The display also proved that they were tough veterans who had been washed away by endless war.

“Of course! They are the best elite troops in Fall Leaf Town.” Zhao Quan said proudly and smiled, he finally had something to brag about in front of Xu Feng. Zhao Quan then introduced the troops and said that half of them were soldiers from the Guards Squadron while the rest were elite members of every influential family in Fallen Leaf Town.

“Squadron Controller.” Xu Feng muttered softly, his eyes narrowed slightly. Now was the second time he would meet this elite force, the first was when he was still in the Yellow Bamboo inn.

The Guards Squadron was an army that was directly under the command of the Capital and stationed in every major city. The reason for its placement was obvious, the Capital tried to plunge a sharp sword so that no one would dare to rebel against the Sky Kingdom. In addition, the presence of the Guards Squadron also helped the Capital to control each of its vast territories.

Xu Feng was honestly a little curious about that army, after all the troops from the Capital would definitely not be as simple as it seemed.

“You're curious about the Guard Squadron aren't you? I am the same.” Zhao Quan guessed Xu Feng's thoughts and explained that even himself with a high status in Fallen Leaf Town did not know too much regarding the Guards Squadron. The group completely shut themselves off from the outside world.

“I know very little about them, including that the leader stationed in each city is as great as the Sect Master. These men served as Lieutenant and were each assigned to oversee the territory of one city.”  Zhao Quan said with admiration.

“So so..” Xu Feng was not too surprised to hear that information, he had already expected it from the start. After all the Guard Squadron carried the name of the Capital and became the sharp sword of the kingdom overseeing the entire country, it would be strange if there were no figure as great as them stationed in every city.

Xu Feng and Zhao Quan then spoke at length while waiting for the arrival of the troops. Not long after, there were two more middle-aged men coming. They were the two experts from the vanguard team that Zhao Quan had talked about.

Merely, the faces of the two experts were pale and moody.

“This is bad..” One of the experts spoke with an ugly face.

“What happened? Also, where are your cars and bodyguards?” Zhao Quan frowned and looked at the two experts with deep eyes, he realized the seriousness of the problem behind the emotions they were showing.

Xu Feng on the other hand also frowned, for the two Seventh Stage experts to show such emotions showed something big had happened.

The expert was breathing heavily, he was trying to stabilize his breathing before dropping the overwhelming information.

“Black Stone City fell!”

“This is right! news just arrived this morning. It is said that the Black Stone City was attacked by a group of mysterious men and killed everyone there.” The expert spoke grimly.

“Also.. The Lotus Sect Master turned out to be a Demon Cultivator! He betrays and joins the invaders to wipe out the entire city. It can be ascertained that no more lives have survived in Batu Hitam City.”

Xu Feng gasped in shock when he heard the news, he did not expect his conjecture all along to turn out to be true!

“Is this news to be trusted? What if it's just a rumor?” Zhao Quan tried to suppress the worry in his heart and tried to think clearly.

“Chairman Zhao, I can confirm the authenticity of this news. The person who brought the information to us was a member of the Guard Squadron who managed to escape from Black Stone City.”

The other expert spoke from the side, there was fatigue in his voice. He himself was overwhelmed mentally when he heard this news. After all there were about a million souls in the Black Stone City. If it was true that not a single life had survived, one could imagine just how tragic it would have been.

We're talking about a million fucking lives!

Not a single normal person could remain calm when he heard the news of the massacre.

“Not only this, the bandits of the bastard are also rumored to take part in the attack.”

The expert gritted his teeth, he really did not accept being played by bandits. He was already furious when he was unable to do anything at a time when chaos was brewing at the border. “Chairman Zhao, I hope you guys don't take hasty action.” Xu Feng looked at Zhao Quan deeply, he tried to remind out of fear if these people became emotional and did something careless. After all Xu Feng realized the emotions of the two experts were already on the edge.

”Who are you son of? Don't interfere in matters that aren't yours.” One expert snorted coldly, his gaze unfriendly towards Xu Feng. He could not imagine how a young man was trying to advise three Seventh Stage experts.

“I only give a reminder.” Xu Feng laughed coldly, he looked at the expert with an unconcerned expression.

Realizing that the air was getting tense, Zhao Quan immediately spoke to the expert, “Don't think of him as an ordinary child, he deserves to speak on par with us.”

“Hmm!?” The expert was surprised by Zhao Quan's remark, even the other experts also looked at Zhao Quan with a puzzled expression. Among the three of them, Zhao Quan's strength was the highest as it had almost reached the peak of the Seventh Stage so both of them naturally respected Zhao Quan.

For Zhao Quan to speak like that, the two experts looked at Xu Feng in a new way.
