Great Swordsman
Ch.37 - Change of Xue Village

Three days passed in an instant, all walking quietly in Xue Village but different from the region around the border.

Three days ago, a piece of shocking news spread quickly across the border and caused an unusual ripple. It was rumored that an expert suddenly appeared and chose to become the protector of Xue Village, a village that was once expected to fall soon.

Many people were astonished, especially for every power that tried to annex the Xue Village. No one understood why an expert was willing to join such a declining and almost resourceless village.

The story of the attack of the Demon Beast Horde also followed, after all many spies from various parties who witnessed the incident from a distance.

Every big person around the border region was shocked.

The so-called expert turned out to be an 18-year-old youth and was rumored to have mastered two techniques as well as being at the peak of the Third Stage.

Many did not believe it at first but as time passed more and more people confirmed the fact, they finally accepted the shocking fact.

“Brother, I go first!”

Gao Gao waved his hand at Xu Feng excitedly, he finally managed to realize his first dream of having his own merchant caravan.

“Gao Gao, you carefully travel and arrive safely at Falling Leaf Town.”

Xu Feng smiled back. He then turned his head towards the Elders of Xue Gong and Xue Lan, they were the guards that Xu Feng had assigned himself to protect the safety of his brother, along with the ten clan members who were at the First Stage.

“Protector Xu, no need to worry! We will use all our lives to protect everything!” Xue Lan cupped her hands and spoke respectfully.

Aside from serving as a guard, Xue Lan honestly had another important task she had to do when she arrived at Fallen Leaf Town, which was why the two of them followed the merchant caravan.

“Do everything well and do not think too much, Xue Village will be safe in my protection.” Xu Feng gave a reminder and spoke a few more words before the caravan left the village and began its first journey.

Xu Feng himself wanted to go visit Fallen Leaf Town but circumstances forced him to stay to protect the village. Otherwise, bad things might happen given the new changes taking place in the village.

“Protectors, I don't think the village will instantly be so crowded visited by people after we decide to open ourselves to the outside world.”

Ding Xiang muttered in surprise, he was currently accompanying Xu Feng walking around the village.

“Protective Greetings.” Every resident often bowed respectfully and gave his greetings when he saw Xu Feng but was also inwardly shocked because Xu Feng was not bothered being by Ding Xiang's side.

“Actually it is understandable, this place is very strategic considering Xue Village is in a location close to the Thousand Night Forest, which is very convenient to the city,

“This place will naturally be a favorite of cultivators to rest before or after entering the forest.”

Xu Feng explained casually, what he said was not wrong, the evidence plastered itself before their eyes. Xu Feng looked and counted roughly there were hundreds of cultivators pouring in since this morning.

And this was their first day opening up to the outside world!

“I'm worried that something will become uncontrollable if the number of visiting cultivators continues to increase.” Ding Xiang expressed the anxiety that had bothered him, no one could calm down knowing there were hundreds of strong people in their own village.

Ding Xiang even felt the number of visitors was more than his father's days. He was unaware that Xu Feng's scattered reputation not too long ago was the main cause.

No one thought Xu Feng had broken through to the Fourth Stage Master realm. Even if Xu Feng said it himself, most people would probably not believe it just like that.

Reaching the Fourth Stage at the age of 18? What joke!

“Because the Protector said so, I'm relieved.” Ding Xiang nodded lightly.

They walked around the village for a while, Xu Feng's goal was to display his face in front of the cultivators to keep them from messing around, this was a simple message from him.

“So he is a rumored expert? The Protector?”

“He really is very young.”

“Strength, I can feel it!”

“Reaching the peak of the Third Stage, he is truly a genius! I don't know which family he comes from?”

Some cultivators would whisper to each other and stare at Xu Feng in shock every time they saw him. Many did not understand why he was confining himself in the border region, Fallen Leaf Town would definitely be better for a genius like him.

“They seem to be smarter than I thought.”

Xu Feng chuckled softly, he saw that those cultivators understood the message behind his actions, all of them would dodge and pave the way whenever the two of them passed by.

“Almost all are wandering cultivators.” Ding Xiang spoke lowly at the side, he judged it based on the look of the shabby equipment they were wearing.

Traveling cultivators are a group of people who choose not to be attached to any party, they mostly like adventure and do everything individually or in small groups.

It was precisely for that reason that it was also what made them a group of poor cultivators among other cultivators because they did not have enough resource support.

Only a few strong cultivators could afford decent equipment.

“Do not judge a person by his outward appearance only, the fixture is just something external, their strength is not judged on that.” Xu Feng reminded, he himself did not want to take the wandering cultivators lightly.

They were experienced people who had gone through innumerable dangers and battles, though, their combat prowess and survival instincts were not things that an average cultivator could compare to let alone a spoiled cultivator who only confined themselves inside the house.

The cruel wilderness realm had forged their bodies and mentality all-out!

“You are right.” Ding Xiang nodded slowly, he was shocked at Xu Fengs sharp judgment.

To be honest whenever he spoke to Xu Feng, he felt like he was talking to an old man and not a young man of his age. How to judge things without being influenced by emotions and ego was new to Ding Xiang.

The girl always felt the look of a father figure on Xu Feng's face, a figure she could rely on and trust, a figure that could protect her no matter how bad the circumstances.

“Ahh what happened!?”

Ding Xiang slightly panicked over his strange thoughts, he hurriedly threw away the face from Xu Feng to calm his heart but his face was already hot and flushed like a tomato.
