Great Swordsman
Ch.58 - Chaos

“Take.”

Xu Feng opened the bottle and threw one pill towards Tan Shuang which immediately caused her beautiful face to be shocked.

“Pil Healing?”

Tan Shuang looked at the small pill in his hand, he was an Elder who used to frequent Fallen Leaf Town so Tan Shuang was very familiar with the wide variety of pills. He naturally also knew the price of each pill.

“Senior, I don't deserve this precious item.”

Tan Shuang hesitated a little but immediately obtained a wave of hands from Xu Feng who mentioned that he needed to heal his body as quickly as possible, after all, Tan Village still needed a leader figure to direct them when they arrived at Xue Village.

“Also, dissolve the rest of this pill with water and give it to everyone who is injured.”

Xu Feng then handed him a bottle of pills. At this point Tan Shuang refused but Xu Feng insisted so that he could only accept it, in his heart there was great gratitude.

There were not many people who could give out Healing Pills like they were handing out candy, after all the price of a single first-grade pill was equivalent to one Low-tier Spiritual Stone, after all, Tan Shuang inevitably felt that Xu Feng was a very generous and not stingy person.

But to Xu Feng, the Healing Pill was not a luxury, it was only a matter of time before he advanced to the Alchemist profession, when that happened, the Healing Pill would become a common item for him.

Tan Shuang then swallowed the Healing Pill at Xu Feng's urging. Immediately the pill dissolved into his body and Tan Shuang felt a warmth that spread throughout his body and slowly his originally pale face regained its color.

A Grade 1 Healing Pill did not heal a person instantly, it only helped one speed up his own recovery rate. The stronger one's body, the more effective the Healing Pill was.

Tan Shuang was at the Second Stage, Xu Feng was sure it would only take half a day for all the wounds on Tan Shuang's body to heal. After all, this woman did not suffer any terrible internal injuries, the bandits purposely did so because they wanted to capture her for dinner at night.

“You just need enough rest before recovering completely.”

Xu Feng gave a suggestion before returning to sit cross-legged, he then ordered the driver to continue on. Tan Shuang on the other hand called out to some servants and told them to dissolve the pills into the water and give them to everyone who was injured.

There was a total of ten pills inside the bottle, dissolving them into water should be enough for the need. Of course, the efficacy of the Healing Pill would also go down because of it.

“Hamba understand.”

The maids nodded before leaving to do their duty, at the same time the troupe also restarted the journey.

On the way, Xu Feng recalled and returned the sword given by Tan Shuang, the latter looking at him with a clueless face.

“Senior, does this sword not suit you?”

Tan Shuang asked nervously for fear that Xu Feng did not like the sword he was giving but Xu Feng shook his head and mentioned that he had already found a sword that suited him, which he had already found, Xu Feng also did not want to keep this sword anymore, it would be best if it returned to the Tan Clan and remained their heirloom.

After all the sword was a symbol of the Tan Clan, even though it had yet to reach an artifact-level weapon, one should not judge it by its quality alone. There was a deep symbolic meaning behind the ordinary sword.

“I understand.”

For a Fifth Stage master to speak like that, the sword in question was definitely not an ordinary sword. Tan Shuang wanted to ask but the next second it stopped, he did not dare for fear of looking disrespectful, he could only keep his curiosity in heart.

The next day arrived, dark clouds and thundering skies accompanied by rain became the theme of nature when the group reached the village of Xue.

“Langit seems to cry over the tragedy that happened at the border.”

Tan Shuang stared at the gray sky through the window of the carriage and heaved a heavy sigh, he was already able to stand up as his body condition almost recovered to its peak thanks to the help of the Healing Pill.

His heart that was always filled with a dark feeling slowly calmed down when watching Xue Village, during the journey he had always been overshadowed by the fear of impromptu attacks from the bandits, what happened in Tan Village seemed to have become a great trauma to him.

“What happened?”

Tan Shuang muttered as he stared at the hundreds of heads standing outside the village gate, he could hear the shouts and exhortations of those people, some were even so bold and hit the gate hard.

“Quick open gate!”

A young man dressed as a noble shouted with an annoyed face from inside the luxurious carriage in red. When he did not get an answer, he immediately turned to one of his subordinates who was riding a horse and ordered something.

His subordinate immediately nodded and approached the gate before swinging his spear and hitting the wooden gate with all his might.

The gate shook and almost collapsed because of it.

“Open or I will destroy this gate!”

He gave a cold snort, his face full of arrogance and humiliation, he did not expect the hick-and-neck of this village to not know his place and treat him so lowly.

“Backed!”

Xue Song gritted his teeth from above the wall, his face full of fury. He wanted to go out and punch the young man in the face but common sense reminded him, however he realized that the four horse-riding guards escorting the carriage were all at the Third Stage.

He had honestly been panicking inwardly and kept asking the clan members about Xu Feng's whereabouts, something like this was already beyond his means.

“Master Xue Song, we've been down every corner of the village and didn't see it.”

One of the clan members spoke, his face already covered in cold sweat. Since yesterday, there had suddenly been many streams of people coming to the Xue Village, all conditions were dire and carrying shocking news.

Circumstances naturally became chaotic due to the relentless flow of people and the news of the bandit assault, everyone became panicked because of it. Some ill-intentioned people took a chance amidst the chaos and attacked the Xue Clan members clandestinely.

What followed was total chaos, Ding Xiang who knew Xu Feng was not in the village was forced to take to the streets to appease the hearts of the people but was suddenly attacked and injured.

Due to the incident, Xue Village then closed the gate and did not let anyone else enter the village and managed to control back the situation, but who would have thought the people outside this gate did not hear their excuses and forced to enter.
