Ch.69 - Intruder

Xu Feng asked Zhao Jun more things and immediately got out of the carriage after there was nothing more to talk about. While outside, Xu Feng was at a loss as to what to do, after all he knew no one in this place other than Zhao Jun and Zhao Quan.

Feeling that there was nothing to do, Xu Feng then chose to take a walk around it while looking at the state of each soldier. He was a little curious as to what the command structure of the troops in this world looked like. Do they also use tiered unit structures like legions? Xu Feng wondered.

On the way, Xu Feng thought back to what Zhao Jun had just said and immediately grinned, “500 Spiritual Stones each month well.”

Xu Feng smiled widely considering such an enormous amount, he did not expect the Cla.s.s 2 Family to obtain such a huge resource backing.

“Moving to Fall Leaf Town seems like it should be a consideration.” Xu Feng muttered softly, his eyes emitting a flash of light in a moment. Considering the situation that occurred in the Black Stone City, staying at the border was now a dangerous thing.

Xu Feng would not be so careless as to consider himself capable of intercepting an enemy capable of destroying a single large city, at least he was not qualified for the moment.

Xu Feng also vaguely felt that what happened in Black Stone City was not as simple as it seemed. Xu Feng was sure the assailants couldn't possibly be so foolish as to not consider the consequences of their actions, after all the Sky Kingdom Capital would not likely let them off the hook after this event.

“Worst case scenario, this matter already concerns a group whose strength is able to match the Sky Kingdom.” Xu Feng's eyes flashed in an instant, he was sure his conjecture could have been correct.

For those people to be so daring to attack Black Stone City taking into account the anger of the Capital showed two things, though, between them it was foolish not to notice it or there was a strong support behind them that made them not fear the Sky Kingdom's reply.

And Xu Feng was of course more inclined to believe in the second possibility. It was also for this reason that Xu Feng began to consider moving to Fallen Leaf Town, he had to go as far away from a place that might potentially become a battlefield.

But still, nearly 70% of that consideration was actually based on Xu Feng's greed for the Spiritual Stone.

“Hey son, what are you doing in this place? This is not the place you should be!”

When Xu Feng was busy with his thoughts, there suddenly appeared two people who were blocking his path. Xu Feng was too focused so he subconsciously entered the area where the troops set up a simple tent to rest.

Xu Feng looked up and narrowed his eyes, in front of him stood two men with stocky and tall postures that almost covered his entire field of view. They were wearing thick metallic armor, at first glance one would know that the armor was very heavy. It was just that the two people looked extremely relaxed as if they did not feel the slightest bit of burden from their armor.

“Ahh, I just meant to look around.” Xu Feng scratched his head while laughing awkwardly, he felt his figure was extremely small before these two giants.

“Outside are prohibited from entering this place son, you better go home soon to your house.” One of the men reminded, he glanced at the sword hanging on Xu Feng's waist and immediately shook his head comically. Unable to sense Xu Feng's cultivation base, he thought Xu Feng was a naive young man trying to look like a cultivator.

“So so well.” Xu Feng nodded and did not force himself to enter, after all he was just a little curious, not an important thing if he did not succeed.

“Isn't she Ma Tao?” The look on Xu Feng's face turned dark, he was about to act but stopped halfway, his logic coming at just the right time.

“No! I don't know if anyone other than Ma Tao has infiltrated.” Xu Feng considered carefully and immediately turned his back and stepped away so that Ma Tao was unaware of his presence. Xu Feng thought it would be wiser to let Ma Tao roam around for even longer, he could at least tail Ma Tao in search of anyone who managed to infiltrate the army.

Xu Feng returned to the carriage, he met Zhao Jun and asked for a robe to cover himself. Zhao Jun was confused at Xu Feng's request but he kept asking the bodyguards to get Xu Feng a robe, the supplies they had brought in the carriage were quite a lot, the beauty was that there were some robes in it as well.

After the bodyguards brought the robe, Xu Feng immediately put it on. After which, Xu Feng sat quietly on top of the carriage waiting for Zhao Quan's arrival, he needed the old man's help.

The day was almost night when Zhao Quan arrived, his face looked a little tired, it seemed like the emergency meeting had not gone smoothly.

“Chairman Zhao, can you help me get into the squad?” Xu Feng immediately made a request that caused Zhao Quan to be surprised, he did not understand why the Xu Feng who previously seemed to not care about anything suddenly wanted that strange thing.

Xu Feng was aware that even though his current strength was already high, it did not mean that he could do anything as he pleased. Xu Feng could not have just relied on his identity as a Sixth Stage to force his way into the army.

“No problem..” Zhao Quan nodded slowly and did not question the reason behind Xu Feng's request.

Xu Feng then said that the fewer people who knew it would be the better. Hearing this, Zhao Quan looked at Xu Feng confusedly, he increasingly did not understand.

“So like this.” Realizing Zhao Quan's gaze, Xu Feng then explained about Ma Tao's existence, he referred to Ma Tao's identity as a Demon Cultivator and how it related to Outer Elder Feng Yang.

Xu Feng had indeed from the beginning intended to tell Zhao Quan about this matter, after all the more people moving in the shadows to monitor Ma Tao the better. They might be able to catch all those intruders.

“This.” Zhao Quan's eyes were wide open hearing Xu Feng's story, he didn't expect the troops who hadn't even entered the Black Stone City region to have been successfully infiltrated by the enemy. It seems the situation is more dangerous than it seems.

“Chairman Zhao, the enemies we face are the sneaky ones, I suggest that you guys be more careful.”.

Xu Feng reminded seriously. Xu Feng himself when he first saw Ma Tao was so shocked, he could not imagine how those people could infiltrate the army without being noticed by anyone. Zhao Quan's facial expression emphasized that, it seemed like even the higher-ups of the army were unaware of it at all.

From here alone has proven how slippery the enemy they are facing.
