Rainbow After Dusk

My hand moved out a piece of maroon-colored paper on the figure beside me. He accepted and opened slowly.

“So three more weeks huh?” his sigh.

“Should have.”

I heard her heavy breathing.

“Printed downloads cannot be canceled, right?” I said smile. It's impossible that he didn't know there was a falsehood behind the curvature of my lips.

“I'm sorry.” implied regret in his speech.

“Tak what. After all, five hundred pieces of the invitation will soon enter the flea market. Who knows, it can be recycled. Like love.”

I straightened my eyes forward. Shouting in the distance the sky was loose. The orange bias is beginning to show. I think the earth will shift soon. From the corner of my eye I could see him looking at me.

“I'm sorry.” he repeated his words.

“Can I request a return invitation? You don't want to keep that, do you?” I asked, regardless of his apology.

The man moved to hand the red paper back to me. The position that is still open makes my eyes can clearly capture the writing carved in it. Straight, yet elegant. Is there a love that is embedded there? I don't know how many tens or even hundreds of times I've looked at that name. My name's. And the name of my bride. If he had never been so strong as to cancel a marriage that was in sight.

“Don't ask me to see you again, Mas. Especially in this place..” the pain increasingly pierced my joints. I'm rising. Looked at the man. My lips were shaking but I still had to say.

“This is our last twilight.”

Nara's…

Nara's…

Nara's…

“Build... idler!”

I sat down as soon as a pillow landed on my face. I saw sharp eyes staring at me. Hey, how could he just carelessly get in here?

“Mas Jendra why don't you knock on the door? It's a girls' room!” I cried while pulling the blanket to the neck. I don't want him to see my half-opened shoulder.

“Waiting breakfast. Dad wants to talk.” he said then turned around, regardless of my protest earlier.

Suddenly I remembered something. My forehead winches.

“Wait!”

“Why else?” ask without turning around.

“Tadi Mas called me Nara?” my many.

“When?”

“Time wakes me.”

He chuckles. “You ever heard me call you that?”

“No.” I shook my head slowly. My eyes are still staring at his back.

“Maybe you dream.” say before it passes.

But I sure heard a half-whispering voice calling out that name and addressed it to me. But my name is Kinar, not Nara, and not Kinara. Just Kinar. It may be true Mas Jendra said, I was just a dream. After that, I often had strange dreams.

“Kinar…!! Lama!!!”

Mas Jendra's scream surprised me. I got up straight away. In a matter of seconds I was already sitting sweetly at the dinner table where father, mother, and Mas Jendra were waiting.

“Bagas where?” my many.

“After college. Can be late if you have to wait for you.” replied Mother.

“Sorry, Mom.” I said badly.

“We had breakfast first just spoke.”

I nodded and began to feed the fried rice into my mouth. I see Mas Jendra occasionally glancing at me with a smile. Look at me, is there anything strange? It seems not, except.maybe there is an iler still stuck in my mouth considering I had no time to wash my face.

“Kinar, it's time you think about going back to work. Don't just because of yesterday's problems, you keep closing yourself.”

My father's words made me feel bad for myself. I know my parents are sad to see me. For about two months I was locked up in my room, never leaving my house. I am ashamed to meet others. Especially those who know about the cancellation of my marriage that is in sight. I chose to resign from my job. I used to sleep with my mattress and pillow more often. Am I heartbroken? Don't know. I'm very disappointed in that guy.

“I need an assistant if you want. Seruni maternity leave for the next three months.” said Mas Jendra.

“If Seruni comes again continue I have to leave so?” I suddenly felt bad.

The man smiled. “If Seruni comes yes you can help others. It is also uncertain, the possibility that her husband will move duties outside the island and Seruni may come along. So you can stay my assistant.”

“Ngakt really good so backup.” I pursed my lips and started lifting dirty dishes into the kitchen.

“I'll help you get through everything.” he whispered while washing his hands.

Finally, I joined Rajendra-Kemal Legal Consultant Bureau and colleagues. I can socialize with the environment again. The friends of Mas Jendra and Mas Kemal did not mention my personal life much, so I could be more comfortable in this place. Mas Jendra himself taught me many things. Behind his strict attitude it turns out that he is a good cousin. Though all this time even though we lived at home since childhood, he was impressed never care for me, even when my marriage was canceled though.

Mas Jendra is the son of my mother's brother. We were five years old. His parents died in an accident at the age of ten. Since then we have lived together. He also called my parents Father and Mother.

“Mas, today I did not go home with ya. Take a walk first.”

“To where? Can't if it's with me?”

I shook my head even though I knew he didn't see it. Maybe because I didn't make a sound, he stopped his work and looked at me.

I who understood his gaze immediately replied. “I'm wanting to be alone.”

I saw a frown on his forehead. Why is that coming out of my mouth?

“I mean.. it's a woman's business.” I said before he asked again.

“Self?” tanyakanya.

I'm nodding. “Not long. I'm not going home tonight.”

“Ya. Later if you call me last night. Don't take a taxi, I'll just pick it up.”

I smiled at assent. I thought he was going to ask at length considering yesterday I heard him talking to Dad, and Dad asked him to take extra care of me.

And here I am. The lake. Scroll my watch, seventeen and forty minutes. To the west, the sun began to fall and a tinge of orange appeared. Just like four months ago when I came to this place.

“Kinar..”.

I turned around to hear that voice. My body stiffens.

“I don't know if it turns out you're still here.”

“This is a public place right.” I replied still staring straight at the lake.

“Do you hate me?”

“Hate. But if you ask me if I'm hurt, the answer is yes. I'm disappointed, grown men like you are petty-minded. The bond is not to be played with as you wish. If you are not sure, you should consider it from the beginning. See for yourself the consequences of your selfishness, not about me and you, but the relationship between our families.”

The man was silent. I myself do not know how I can remove the uneg-uneg that I have been harboring for several months.

“What are you ..”

“No.” cut me.

“If you want to ask me if I have more feelings for you, the answer is no. Again, I'm not saying this is about me and you, Mas. You hurt the feelings of those who love us.”

I flinched as she turned me in front of her. My shoulder was firmly gripped even though I tried to dodge.

“Can you have a loveless marriage, Kinar? Thought you. I don't want you to suffer from marrying a man like me.”

“At least I'm trying to understand, bonding doesn't have to always talk about love. But come..” I take his hand off my shoulder.

“I just want to apologize.” his sigh.

“You've said it repeatedly.”

“But you never once returned it. I just understood that even if you don't love me, but still I hurt you and have shamed your pride. It's worth it he beat me all out.”

I scrunched my forehead. She's she? Kick up?

“You mean.?”

“You're lucky to have a sister like her.”

The sister? Oh my God.. Mas Jendra?

Nara's.

Nara's…

Nara's…

You see twilight there? After dusk, I'll make it color for you…

Redder.

Yellows.

Greener.

Huh!! I sat down for a moment. My breaths panting. That dream. Dusk on the lake. The voice of a man who seemed familiar. Scratch a glass of water on the nightstand and immediately gulp it down quickly. Suddenly I remembered the events at the lake a few days ago and.

“Nightmare?”

My eyes widened to see the figure that was crossing while smiling.

“Mas Jendra!!! Don't go in my room!”

“Don't see the guy again. Especially staring at dusk with him.”

That voice roused me from the daydream. Spontaneously I turned to him. How could he know?

“Mas follow me?” I demand an explanation.

“I can not be calm if you are not okay.” the answer is still focused driving.

“I'm fine.”

“You speak another. Don't tell me you're still thinking about that coward.” I heard a tone full of dislike in his sentence.

I bite my lips. There are things I would like to ask her but I doubt them.

“Mas... Why did Mas Jendra have to beat him up?” tanyaku carefully.

The man was silent. I almost swallowed back my curiosity when I felt the car pull over. Mas Jendra turned off the engine and looked at me.

“Do I need to explain why?”

I don't know why I was silent even though I wanted an explanation.

“Do you believe in a rainbow after sunset?”

I cringed not understanding.

“Rangi...?”

Where possible? Rainbows are there because of sunlight. Where is the rainbow at night?

“Red... yellow... green..”.

I closed my mouth with my hand. Suddenly I understood something.

I threw my body into the car seat. I can still hear the breath beside me.

“It wasn't a dream, Kinar. That's my whisper in your ear.”

It just feels like real.

“I do not know if this can be justified because after all in our bodies still flow the same blood.”

I was shocked when Mas Jendra grabbed my hand and put a silver bracelet on my wrist.

“Nar..ra...” ejaku read the inscription carved there. Narras. Double R's.

“...Kinar.. Rajendra...” lirihku.

The man just smiled faintly.

“Let destiny guide us. But one thing, I will always try to give you a different color in your day.”

“Like rainbow? Mejikuhibiniu?”

Mas Jendra laughed. Turn the engine back on.

I smiled, rubbing my wrist.
