4 DAYS OF AMINAH DISAPPEARANCE (PART 1)

The True Story, the 4-Day Mystery of Aminah's Disappearance

INTERMEZOS

I am always happy when parents and relatives come together, rebuke each other and tell each other about the experience at a young time. There was something interesting at that time, where my mother's cousin, Aminah, told me about her experience. That said, it was his personal experience, filled with mystery, suffering and almost driving him crazy.

This is a true story that I heard from the source itself and this incident was also justified by the nearest neighbor, his close brother and parents from the source, even my mother also allowed it. They were directly involved in the process of searching for the 4-day disappearance of Aminah at the time.

This story began about 34 years ago. Yes, 34 years ago because it happened along with the birth of the second child from Aminah, call aja Cucu, she is a girl. The granddaughter is currently about 34 years old. Actually he was my cousin, because my mother and her grandson, Aminah, were cousins. So if traced, the grandson is my distant cousin from one great-grandfather.

BEGINNING STORY

At that time Aminah happened to live in a village. Geographically, the village was located in the north of Garut district and entered the Tarogong Kidul sub-district at this time. Cibunar the name of his village. Most Garut people would know the location of the village. It can be said that the village of Cibunar at that time was still a small village located in the corner of the city. To the east lies the Cimanuk River. The village was surrounded by a large forest and a thick wilderness. A remote village that is far from the crowd and impressed haunted. Understandably, at that time around the seventies.

I remember when I was 7. Seeing the village that is still beautiful with nature, the houses of residents who walled in wooden rooms, and, seating (golodogs) on each terrace of the house are stone-covered times the size of a fist and arranged in front of the courtyard of the house, typical of homes in the village of the past. Plus the lush trees and bamboo gardens that grow here and there.

Almost every 20 square meters in every corner of the house there is a bamboo garden, and there is only a 1.5-meter-wide walkway. It is the road that connects the village of Cibunar with the surrounding villages. The road was still muddy ground, unlike at this time. There was no light at that time. Lighting only by utilizing a torch (a dry bamboo area filled with oil and stuffed with a lump of cloth, for the source of the flame). This torch is used as the only lighting device and almost in every home using this lighting device. Torches were used because at that time there was no electricity.

It was from the village that the mystery story of Aminah's disappearance began. Aminah married a well-built, handsome-looking young man of her time, the name of the young man was Mukmin. From this marriage they were blessed with a son, call it Somad. The age of marriage at that time was about 3 years, and his first child was about 2 years old. His home was also impressed. Mukmin works at one of the dodol factories in the city of Garut, almost once a week he returns home. Understandably, the distance of the factory to the village of Cibunar where they live is quite far, approximately 8 kilometers. It was quite a long walk at the time.

ANTICIPATION

In the fifth year of her marriage, Aminah began to show signs of conceiving a 2nd child. From here all forms of problems began to undermine Aminah. Unlike usual, her husband Mukmin now rarely come home, but Aminah was impatient to tell her husband the good news, about her second pregnancy. But her husband had not yet revealed his nose. Her husband has not been home for two weeks. “Maybe he is busy?", whispered Aminah in his heart.

Aminah's suspicions began to surface when her husband returned home. Her husband's facial features look slim, the face is not as usual. There was no smile on her husband's face. “Ah, maybe this is just my prejudice”, said Aminah in her heart.

Seeing the look on her husband's face, Aminah did not dare to say that she was pregnant. It was not until the next day, when her husband was about to leave again, that Aminah began to tell her husband that she was pregnant. But her husband just said, “How many months?”. Then Aminah replied that she was now pregnant for 4 months. And in a tinge, her husband said, “Yes already, take good care! I want to work again”. Like swallowing a bitter pill for the sake of hearing the words of her husband at that time, even though he hoped to get a kiss and hug from the husband.

Not felt now the content of Aminah stepped on the 6th month. Aminah began to be overwhelmed with feelings of unworthiness. Unlike usual her husband has not returned home too, but it has been 2 months since his departure. A long wait for a pregnant woman who thirsts for the affection of her husband. Surrounded by intense anxiety, many fears haunt Aminah's feelings about her husband. “Where is my husband? Hopefully he is safe and in good health”, Aminah prayers in heart. She always wished her husband the best.

Minutes change hours, hours change days, days change months, there is absolutely no news about her husband. Finally at the end of a long wait, Aminah sent her cousin, Rodayat, to visit her husband and bring him home. It just so happened that his cousin's sister knew where Aminah's husband used to stay.

In the time of waiting, full of anxiety for her husband, Aminah paced back and forth in the house, with the hope of Rodayat who she followed home to bring her husband. The beloved granddaughter arrived, finally Rodayat whom he followed was seen from a distance to his home. Rodayat approached him. And before Rodayat told him, he advised Aminah to be stoic and patient in the news that he would convey. Aminah began to dag-dig-dug unbecoming. “What is it?”, he said, wiping away the tears that had dripped in his eyes.

Finally Aminah must be steadfast in receiving the very heartbreaking news. Yes, that her husband plans to marry again with his new dream woman. Like being struck by lightning, Aminah fell unconscious in her cousin's lap. What a fate of Aminah, a woman in a state of 7 months pregnant who was supposed to get the caress of love and pampered by her husband, was hurt without feeling.

BIRTH OF 2 AMINAH CHILDREN

Since hearing the unpleasant news about her husband, Aminah was a lot of aloof and daydreaming, while occasionally wiping tears that dripped on her cheeks. Sometimes he went out of the house with an empty look, sometimes he answered sometimes not. His parents were concerned and wept over his son's fate. His parents can only pray for the best and sometimes speak while shedding tears. "Patient Minah! Much praying! May your husband be restored by God" and rub the head of Aminah. It was a painful day for Aminah, for her husband had not yet come to see her. Aminah can only daydream and daydream.

Days change week, weeks change month. Towards the magrib at about 6:30 pm, finally the signs of the birth of his second child began to be felt. His parents realized that his son would give birth, Aminah's parents swiftly called Paraji (the mother of children), his name, Odah, who was ready to wait. Aminah, who was in a daydream and heart that was slashed because of her husband, finally gave birth to a daughter, who is now a Grandson.

HOW DID AMINAH DISAPPEAR?

This is where the mysterious journey of Aminah begins!

The birth process is quite exhausting. Fresh blood attached to the sinjang (rok kebaya) that is still worn looks thick drying fade the original color of kebaya brownish yellow. There was no happy look on Aminah's face when her baby was born, she was still daydreaming. It seems that her daydream still remains on her husband, even though the birth process is not accompanied by her husband. Her husband seemed to lose responsibility for Aminah and the child he was born with.

While the parents and those around her were busy taking care of the baby, Aminah slowly got up and got off the crib. Fresh blood was still coming out of her womb. Unbeknownst to those around him, in a semi-conscious state, as well as a blank stare, Aminah left the house. Though the day had begun to turn dark, close to the time of the magrib at that time. Only one destination of Aminah, she intends to visit her husband. I don't know what possessed Aminah. Just finished giving birth, his mind was not careless. There was only one in her heart, she only wanted her husband.

The fishy-smelling blood of the rest of the labor still seemed to be dripping from her uterus. Aminah staggers down the muddy footpath that connects the village of Cibunar with other villages. At a crossroads with a bamboo garden that people rarely pass, in a state of semi-consciousness and empty mind, Aminah passed by a grandfather, and then the grandfather greeted her. “Duh, pity granddaughter grandpa. Here grandfather help the carrier!", while giving his back to ride. Aminah then obeyed by riding on the back of the grandfather to be carried.

THE SITUATION OF AMINAH'S BABY AND HER FAMILY

On the day Aminah disappeared, Aminah's parents and brothers were in a fog with extreme feelings of anxiety. They also do not remain silent. They continued to search for Aminah. He sought Aminah here and there, but their search that afternoon yielded nothing. His parents were very worried about the state of Aminah, especially at that time was haunted by the myth of the locals, that it is strictly forbidden people who just gave birth out of the house in the time before the magrib, which is the first place, given the blood of labor that is still dripping and still smelled fishy smell. It is said that he could invite the magical creature of the genie nation to disturb him.

Darkness began to envelop the small village. The Aminah family at that time was assisted by a nearby neighbor, Pak Osin as the head of the search team, continued to search for Aminah. With the help of makeshift torch lighting, they are trying to continue the search. A search was conducted to explore the village of Cibunar. Corner by corner traced, bamboo gardens entered while shouting, “Aminah... Aminah where...???”. Those words were what sounded like a mutual response between them. They only hope to find Aminah wherever she is.

While Aminah's neighbors and family were searching, Aminah's baby home in her grandmother's arms continued to whine and cry, filling the silence of the night that began to darken. Poor baby, the little baby who should have had milk and the warmth of his mother's caress on the first day he was in the world, can only surrender to his destiny. Every time the baby cried, the Aminah family could only give him drops of sweet tea water, understandably at that time formula milk was still difficult to come by in the region where Aminah lived.
