“Yohio!” Calling a man in a dark blue jacket while waving his hand made a black-haired man who was embracing the bag stop his steps.
“Hm? There's what.” Tanya Yohio, the black-haired male with a flat gaze.
“Your book, miss.” Answer the man in the blue jacket who is often called Leon by his friends.
“Eh? Thank you.”
“Hehe, your story is pretty good. Sorry I opened your book and read it.” Said Leon with a smile and scratched his back head that did not itch.
“Oh, it's okay.” Reply Yohio and then move his legs back to leave Leon.
“Oi! Don't go yet. I want you to hear my story too.” Said Leon while patting Yohio on the shoulder. “This story I made where I gave it the title The Forest.” Leon immediately began the story.
The Story Begins
“Ah... Ayame, again you read a spooky story, yes?” Said a young girl while looking at Ayame.
“Can only, right. I like it too, kok!” Reply Ayame with a smile. “For summer holiday duty, I want to find a spooky story from here!” He continued while looking at his friend.
“Eh, Seriously?” Said his friend who couldn't believe what Ayame said.
“Yes, the stories in the book are less greget. Less spooky.” Ayame said as she closed the book she bought earlier.
But suddenly came a man in a black pandora hat approached the two young girls.
“Excuse me. Does this road lead to the village of Hotaka?” Ask this man in a black pandora hat who has the name Leon.
The two young girls immediately turned their heads and looked at Leon with a strange look.
“I-iya, sih.” Ayame replied stammeredly while staring at Leon strangely. “Why does this person wear such clothes in summer..?” Ayame muttered as she asked herself.
“Ah, I am not a suspicious person, kok.” Said Leon with a smile. “Actually I am a researcher of legends and mysterious stories. I heard there is a strange tradition called DEATH FOREST in this village.” Added Leon with a face that suddenly turned serious.
“EH, THAT HOW'S THE STORY?” Ayame asked with a face of disbelief that in the village where she lived there was such a tradition.
“Conon, when a child is born with CERTAIN CONDITIONS, he will be considered as a bearer of disaster and called A CURSED CHILD. He would be banished or rather live in that forest his whole life, without eating and drinking. About like that.” Obviously Leon while looking seriously at Ayame.
“CUSTOMIZED CONDITION?” Said Ayame who seemed to not understand what the meaning of the words that came out of Leon's mouth.
“About it..”
ZRAAK!
“I got a great story! It will be so exciting!” Ayame said with a breath of breath and opened the door with a bang. “Alright! Tonight I have to go to the forest.” Ayame said in a serious tone while smiling widely.
EVENING …
Finally night came, the time that Ayame had been waiting for had arrived.
“OK! All are ready!” Say Ayame who directly put the tools he needs into the bag except the flashlight.
Slowly he came out of his house to a forest that Leon told him about this afternoon.
“This will surely be exciting!” Said Ayame who seemed very happy but maybe he did not know what was waiting for him there.
WOUZZ!
That night the weather was so cold that it pierced into the skin and felt up to the bone. But Ayame still did not give up, she continued to move her feet towards the forest.
15 Minutes passed, finally he arrived in front of a forest that was touted as a forest of death. Then he lit the flashlight and set his foot back into the forest.
“Eh? Why is everyone scared? Though this forest is quite beautiful.” Said Ayame while shining her flashlight into the corners of the forest.
Cold, dark, silent. That was what Ayame now felt as time had gone into the forest.
“Eh? Rain?” His voice was shocked as he felt something dripping down his forehead. “Maybe.” He continued without thinking any further.
“Please? Or stones? However, why is it moist and a little soft?” He muttered again but again without thinking long he immediately returned to step his legs that had stopped. “Maybe the tree or the stone is mossy.” He murmured again without shining a flashlight onto the thing he hit earlier.
“KOAAKKK!!! KOAKKK!!”
The crow made a special sound when he saw Ayame who kept her feet going deeper into the forest.
SRAAK! BRUCK!
Ayame's right foot accidentally stepped on a fairly slippery ground that made her almost fall but she seemed to be helped by hitting something in front of her.
“Are you okay miss?” Said someone he hit who seemed to be a woman.
“I-iya, I'm fine.” Say Ayame while looking for a flashlight that he accidentally dropped. “M-sorry, I accidentally.” Add Ayame who is still looking for a flashlight that he accidentally dropped.
“It's okay.” Reply to this woman, her voice was so soft.
“Sorry in advance, miss who is it?” Ask Ayame who seems to have managed to find her flashlight but is still dead.
“I Fuu.” Answer the woman in a very soft voice.
“L-then, what is miss doing here?” Ask Ayame again because of shock to meet a woman in the forest who is said to be cursed.
“I stay here.” Reply to this woman while looking at Ayame.
“T-living here?!” Said the surprised Ayame who now immediately shone a flashlight that had been lit towards the woman.
“Iya! Not that you want to join too!” The words of this woman whose voice suddenly turned hoarse.
The woman had skin so pale, a face covered by her long black hair, as well as a part of her leg that only until her lower knee seemed to disappear like it was blending with air. Seeing that Ayame's heart was beating fast, without thinking again he immediately fled from that place.
And now he could see so clearly that what was dripping on his forehead was not rain but the blood of those who could not bear to live in this forest, and also what he hit was not a tree or a mossy stone but the body of a decaying person.
Slowly his gaze blurred due to the tears that suddenly pooled, now he regretted having entered into this cursed forest. He didn't want to die like those people.
“Goodbye!” Said the voice of the woman he found earlier, the voice was so close that it even whispered in his ear. Out of curiosity Ayame looked back and she could see the woman smiling at her.
BRAKK!
Ayame's feet were stumbled by something quite hard, likely the roots of a tree coming out from the ground.
CRAASSHH!
“Hiks... Hiks... Hiks...” Her tears came out, as she realized her stomach had been stuck by a sharp and quite large branch of a tree, as big as an adult's thigh.
Fresh blood came out of his mouth, his eyes began to look at the surrounding scenery slowly and slowly finally his eyes were tightly closed and his heart stopped working.
The next day Ayame's body was found lifeless in the woods, he was found by people who had been assigned to enter the forest every month to bring the bodies of those who had died to the hospital or to the nearest police station.
“Is a tradition born of a disaster? Or is it the tradition that calls for disaster? I don't know which is right.” Said Leon as he closed the black book and immediately walked away from the village.
The Story Ends's
“How?” Leon asked while looking at Yohio.
“Lumayan, may also if your story was added in my book.” Yohio replied with a faint smile and glanced at Leon at a glance.
“Hehe, actually my story is still a lot. Do you want to hear again?” Leon asked once more with a smile.
“Maybe next time, because we're up.” Yohio answered, taking a different path to return home.
“Alright!” Said Leon excitedly as he waved his hand. “See you tomorrow at school.” Connect with Leon while smiling.
THE END
