After the hospital, we all went back to my aunt's house, getting ready for the home. The event was held on Friday night, one week after Eid al-Fitr, precisely the seventh night of Salsya's death. As planned, the tahlilan event was held in an orphanage. All my family were present, taking the time to come to the event we dedicated to Salsya, the only thing we could give: prayer.
Actually, I wasn't really focused on the show. For some reason, it feels creepy. As if someone was watching me. Either by chance or what, that night Zia brought her baby who was suddenly crying in the middle of the event.
"Maybe still hungry, Deck. Susuin, uh."
"Em, maybe. Follow me," he said.
"Yo, wis. Come on," I said. I'm taking her to the baby room.
Arriving there...
My footsteps instantly came to a halt when I realized the existence of someone standing beside Aulian's bed.
"Kay?"
I started to tremble and start to worry. The thing is, every time I met the girl, the atmosphere between us was always unpleasant, always in a tense state. And if I wasn't in a big pregnancy, I wouldn't be worried about Kayla being around me. For now - inevitably, I have to secure myself. Be alert and watchful.
But...
"Hi" said Kayla.
Whats? Not wrong? She greeted me?
"How are you?"
"I. good. Q.. How about you?"
"I'm good too." She smiles.
Bizarrely. Is there any wind that he can be nice like that?
"Mom, I'm sitting down, yeah. I'm going to breastfeed my son."
I nodded at Zia.
"I'm here to see Aulian" Kayla said. "Will he stay here next?"
Though in doubt, I shook my head. "Mas Reza plans to adopt her" I said. I'm still standing at the door. If I hadn't met Kayla, I would have approached her.
I'm throats. "Thank you, my content is good. My kids are healthy."
"Thank God."
Then silence. We both do not know what to talk about, we are not friends, we can even say we are enemies. But... how can it suddenly be good? What was? She tardy? Or amnesia? that question is filling my brain.
"Darling," Reza breathlessly approached me.
I'm turning. "Why?"
A moment later Reza realized the existence of Kayla, as well as Zia who was breastfeeding. She immediately turned and walked out of the nursery, and I caught up with her, but I just stood in the doorway so as not to leave Zia and the baby together with Kayla. For some reason, I felt a creepy atmosphere. Kayla's aura - from the past to the present, makes me never comfortable being around her.
"What's wrong?" I asked Reza.
"You're the one with the habit of saying, '" his voice came back flat.
"I'm accompanying Zia, Mas. His son was crying earlier to suckle."
"Whatever it is, yeah. Don't stay away from me," singitnya. "You're the-"
Kayla approached us. "I want to go home. Sorry, can't take the class until it's over."
Me and Reza just nodded, letting the girl step away. "You're okay, right? She's...."
"It's okay, Mom. Kayla and I didn't fight. Don't know that, how could he suddenly be friendly, huh? Weird."
Reza breathed a sigh of relief. "Maybe he's guided" he said casually. "Whatever it is, thank God he wasn't rude to you earlier."
I nodded, and was almost dumb-meaning I was still struggling with my own thoughts.
"The show is almost done, we go straight home, yes. Let the resto employees beberes."
I nodded again. "You wait here, I want to see Aulian first while waiting for Zia as well."
"Slow down, don't hold the baby. Listen to me, yeah."
Hmm.. oper protective once.
