Chapter 15's

Jane stepped quietly into the apartment elevator. After pressing the number seven button, one of his hands was raised to massage his shoulders which felt a little sore. While the other hand carries a black handbag branded Dior and a cream-colored blazer that he was wearing.

Jane glanced at the circular watch in her hand. It's now seven in the evening, and Jane just got to her apartment building.

The project her papa company is developing is forcing Jane to take overtime today. Though he had made a deal with Felix to divide the time and take turns taking care of Aiden. Luckily Felix is on holiday today, so he can keep Aiden alone. And last night the young man also said that he would take Aiden to the supermarket to shop for some necessities today.

Ting!

The clanking sound indicates that Jane has reached the seventh floor, the floor where her apartment is located. Luckily the distance of the apartment is not too far from the elevator because now the feet of Jane dialasi high heels in white have begun to feel sore.

Without lingering Jane immediately pressed the password on the keypad as soon as she arrived at the doorstep of the apartment. As soon as the door opened and she walked in, Jane immediately took off her heels and placed them originally near the door. Jane stepped unsteadily towards the living room and flopped down on the sofa. He was really tired and very hungry. As Jane recalled, only a piece of croissant had stopped by her hull this afternoon, and she had not eaten anything as her dinner.

Jane finally decided to go to the kitchen. Who knows if there is rice and vegetables in the pot or other foods in the refrigerator that he can eat. But as soon as he got up from the sofa and turned to face the kitchen, Jane's gaze locked onto something on the dining table that was visible from the living room where he was now standing.

Curious, Jane immediately stepped towards the dining table. Once there, Jane's fatigue instantly disappeared. Jane saw a chocolate cake shake with a fresh strawberry topping on the dining table.

It feels like a long time ago Jane's favorite sweet cake did not stop by her tongue. Jane immediately smiled broadly and without further ado at the knife lying next to the cake and began slicing a piece of the round cake.

Jane had just enjoyed the first bite when Felix came down the stairs while carrying Aiden. The young man's eyes widened when he saw Jane enjoying cake at the dinner table. “Do not eat!”

Jane turned her head with a shocked and confused look. One bite of the chocolate cake filled his mouth as he asked, “Why?”

Felix who had gone down the last rung of stairs seemed to massage his temple. “While I was waiting for you to come home,” he said in a disappointed tone. Of course it makes Jane more confused and raised a look of not understanding.

Felix exhaled softly before saying, “I bought the cake to celebrate our hundred days of marriage.”

“What?” Jane slightly widened her eyes.

“I was going to take you and Aiden to blow out a candle together. But no problem, just eat it if you are hungry.”

‘One-time fool. How can I forget,’ Jane's heart. Jane felt like punching herself, even unconsciously she started to hit her own head slowly. Give a grin to Felix, Jane said, “Sorry. I'm really very hungry. So as soon as I see this cake.. without a second thought I directly eat it.”.

Felix smiled. He stretched out a hand that did not rest Aiden's body and snatched away the piece of cake that Jane had cut. “It's okay, I understand you're hungry. You really like chocolate cake anyway, right?”

Felix's words were immediately reciprocated by a nod of his head excitedly by Jane. A wide smile was caught on the beautiful face of Jane as she ate back the cake in front of her, not forgetting to slice a few more pieces for her husband. The tired look had completely disappeared from Jane's face. He was like a five-year-old boy who was very happy because he bought ice cream and candy.

Felix glanced at Aiden who had fallen asleep in his arms. He then walked to the living room and placed Aiden slowly and carefully into the baby carriage that was there, then he stepped back to the dining table. Felix sits himself in front of Jane, and they both enjoy chocolate cake as their dinner. Jane suddenly remembered.

“By the way, how do you know if I like chocolate cake?” ask Jane.

It was fortunate that Felix had swallowed his food when the question was thrown. Otherwise, he might choke on hearing it.

“Oh... that's because...”.

Felix noticed the date written on his lockscreen. His eyebrows slightly lifted when he remembered something. Today is the hundred-day wedding of her and Jane, a great day to buy a cake and celebrate it together.

Felix went through his contact list to find Jane's number. His finger stopped when he was just about to press the dial button. An idea popped into his head, and Felix immediately looked for another number to call. Finding the number in question, Felix directly pressed the dial button and attached the phone to his right ear. It didn't take long until the phone was picked up.

“Halo, Mama.”

“Hello, Felix. What's suddenly calling?” my mother's voice came from across.

“Ma, there's something I want to ask.”

“Ask what, Felix?” mom's voice sounded curious.

“Mama know what Jane's favorite cake is?” ask Felix a little carefully.

“Yeah, Mama thought there was something very important.” Mama replied with a soft laugh. “Jane really likes chocolate, since childhood he always ate chocolate cake, especially if there are strawberries on it. She was very happy if Mama or Papa bought her that.”

“Really? All right, then I'll buy him a chocolate cake. Thank you, Ma.”

Jane looked at Felix with a questioning look. “Hm? Because what?”

“That's because.. earlier when I went shopping with Aiden, I saw a pretty interesting cake shop and decided to go in there. Then I saw this chocolate cake and it looked really good. So I thought for sure you'd like it too.” Felix replied while scratching the back of his head. “At that moment I also remembered that today is the hundredth day of our wedding.”

Jane's expression instantly turned moody. “You remember? Sorry... I don't remember..”

Felix throbs small. “That's because I accidentally noticed the date on my phone.”

Jane nodded her head weakly. Jane felt guilty. He thought hard how he returned Felix's treatment. It seemed that a thank you was not enough to cover up his stupidity today.

Suddenly there was an idea in Jane's mind, but she was hesitant to do this. Jane glanced at Felix who seemed to focus on the cake before him. Should he do it? Isn't this too cep– ah, of course not. Her marriage has been running for a hundred days, precisely according to Jane actually this is too slow for the two of them. Then Jane finally put the half-living piece of cake and cleaned her hands with the tissue on the dining table.

He stared at Felix who had just swallowed the last piece of cake and got up to the sink to wash his hands. Jane stood up and walked towards Felix.

“Felix,” call Jane make Felix turn around and turn to her.

‘Now is the time,’ Inner Jane.

Jane put Felix on her shoulder on tiptoe. His eyes were forcefully closed and his face leaned forward. But unfortunately, Jane's efforts were in vain because of the height that only reached Felix's chin. Instantly Jane curses her heels that are lying near the door.

Silent moment. Nothing moves between Jane staying in her position and being too embarrassed to back down, and Felix realizing what Jane's going to do.

In the next second, Felix stepped back and looked at Jane with widened eyes and a slightly flushed face. Jane rested on her feet and mocked. Jane's hand that was floating in the air slowly moved covering her own face.

“J-Jane... what do k-you do?” Felix stuttered with a face that although looked calm but looked red even to the neck and earlobes.

“Sorry... I just want to thank you with...” Jane hung up her words. “With.... with a kiss...” continued Jane with a barely audible voice.

“With what?” without realizing Felix brought his face closer in order to hear clearly Jane's voice. Jane reflexively lowered her hand and met Felix.

“I want to thank you for kissing you.” said Jane bluntly. He then closed his red face again.

Looking at him, Felix laughed. Her nervousness due to Jane's sudden action vanished already. The sound of Felix's laughter immediately made Jane lower her hand again.

“Kok even laughed anyway?” jane protests with pursed lips. Jane was embarrassed to death, but Felix laughed at her.

Spitting up his laughter, Felix stroked Jane's head slowly, “You don't have to push yourself, Jane,” Felix said as he looked at Jane with a smile on his face.

‘I don't want to say this but.. I think waiting a little more won't be a problem,’ continued Felix in the heart.

“I'm not forcing myself!” jane resolutely. Jane's words were quite firm that made Felix slightly widen his eyes. Then Jane spoke again while twisting the ends of her hair. “We have been married for more than three months, but I feel. I know this all because of me, but–”

“Then let me just start,” between Felix.

“Hmm?” Jane looked at Felix confused.

“You don't have to come to me. Let me take one step closer to you.”

Not yet had Jane digested Felix's words well, the young man had lowered his body to be in line with Jane's height. Within seconds, her lips had fused with Jane's lips, making Jane's eyes widen to feel the soft touch of Felix's lips on hers. The touch she felt for the first time.

Jane called it the first time because even though Felix had kissed her at their wedding three months ago, but their lips were not really stuck as they are today. A second later Jane closed her eyes and returned the kiss to her husband.

‘Thank you, Felix.’
