Love, Maybe

Love, Maybe
Chapter 4's

Felix's black BMW drove slowly out of the gate of Jane's parents' house, with Jane behind the wheel.

“Should have let me drive,” Felix said as he turned to Jane.

Jane smiled faintly and shook her right hand. “It's okay, every once in a while I have to drive too. Don't worry, I'm a good driver.”

“I know,” Felix replied while turning his gaze outside the car window. They just left Aiden to Mama Jane, because today they plan to shop for various kitchen needs and some other household appliances that they have not had time to buy when they went to the supermarket two days ago.

They arrived at the mall twenty minutes later. After parking the car, Jane and Felix immediately walked to the supermarket in the mall.

They walked around the food shelf. Felix stopped and noticed the different types of spaghetti that were before him. He then took out a few packs and put them in his trolley.

“How much spaghettinya?” jane asked as soon as she saw their trolley filled with spaghetti packs.

“I love spaghetti,” replied Felix who is now busy choosing which sauce he should buy.

“I prefer instant noodles.” Jane turned to the shelf next to Felix that contained packets of instant noodles of various flavors.

Jane was just about to put down five large packs of spicy instant noodles, but Felix grabbed them right away. “No, instant noodles it's not good.”

“Why?” jane protest.

Felix immediately returned the package of instant noodles to his shelf. “I can cook you some delicious spaghetti. Compared instant noodles, spaghetti is better.”

Jane's eyes sparkled. Felix wants to cook it again? He had been living with Felix for three days, and every morning Felix always cooked him breakfast, only today Jane cooked fried rice and omelette for breakfast. And now Felix says he's gonna make him spaghetti? Felix really likes to cook.

“That's right?”

Felix looked at him. “Of course. Every day I want to cook you spaghetti.”

Jane pursed her lips. Does this man realize what he just said?

“Jane.”

Jane gasped a little when she heard her name called. “Ya?”

“What do you like coffee?” ask Felix.

“Copy? I like cappuccino. Why?”

Felix again observed the shelves containing various kinds of coffee that. “It looks like this brand is better when I make coffee for you at home. What say?”

Jane stares confusedly at the foreign-branded coffee parcel in Felix's hands. As far as Jane's is concerned, coffee is not easy to brew. “You know how to make this coffee?”

“Iya. Oh, I haven't told you, have I? I am a barista.”

Whahuh? A barista?

...***...

The situation in the car was very quiet. Felix is busy with the streets before him and Jane is busy with her thoughts. Every now and then the girl glanced at Felix. But the man's serious expression made him squeak. But his lips were really itching to ask. Did he wait until Felix told me again? But come on, this one guy won't speak first if this is the case.

“Felix.” Jane finally made a sound.

Felix cleared his throat in response, his focus still on the streets before him.

“Iya,” Felix replied without taking his eyes off.

How could? How could his father arrange a blind date and match him with a barista? Not all this time Papa always betrothed him to a CEO of large companies or not infrequently also to the son of the heir to the company. But this time a barista?

Long not hearing the girl's voice speak anymore, Felix turned his head. He found Jane wandering.

“Jane,” call Felix quench Jane's daydreams.

“I-Yes?” jane replied somewhat stuttered.

Felix glanced at her before finally returning to focusing on the streets. “What's up?”

“Hmm? No, there's nothing.” Jane still didn't dare to ask.

Was he disappointed to learn Felix was just a barista? Seems not. After all, Jane has never been too concerned about social status. Felix wanted to be her husband, Jane was very happy and grateful, plus it turns out she is a very good man. When it comes to the economy, his salary alone is enough to support the three of them, so there is absolutely no problem.

So what else should Jane worry about?

Felix glanced at Jane again. “You daydream.”

“I'm just sleepy.” Jane shut her mouth and pretended to yawn.

“In the meantime we get to Papa's house, after that we go straight home. If you are sleepy, just sleep first,” said Felix. Jane nodded and rested her head on the back of the chair, closing her eyes.

...***...

It was dark when they arrived at the apartment. Aiden had them put to bed in his room, while Jane and Felix threw their bodies on a cream sofa in the living room of their apartment. They were exhausted after a long day of shopping, plus a long drive from the mall to Jane's parents' house to pick up Aiden. They also had confusion how to bring a lot of groceries to their apartment on the seventh floor.

“Today you sleep in the room. You have slept with Aidem for three days, so replace me who slept with him today,” Jane said as she got up and walked to the stairs.

Their groceries were still scattered in the living room. They're too tired to take care of it tonight. Felix was about to go upstairs to his room when he remembered the groceries. It seems that if that one cannot be delayed, Felix must take care of it if he does not want the groceries damaged.

So Felix got down again and brought the groceries to the kitchen. He stared at the vegetables, fruits and meat neatly into the refrigerator. All the spaghetti packs and coffee he put on the shelves on the stove. In less than thirty minutes Felix spent arranging all the groceries.

Felix climbed the stairs to his room. The sleepiness that had attacked him had now disappeared completely. Maybe because he was exposed to splashes of water when washing fruits and vegetables earlier. Before entering the room, Felix turned to Aiden's room door opposite the main room. There was no sound from inside.

Maybe Jane's asleep.

Felix was about to go into Aiden's room, just to see Aiden because he hadn't seen him all day. But the intention was to be stopped for fear of disturbing Jane. Felix finally went into his room. Now it's time for him to straighten his back on his soft bed.

Felix had just laid his body on that creamy mattress when the scent of peach greeted his sense of smell.

‘Does Jane use peach-scented room fresheners?’ inner Felix.

But then Felix recalled, this scent was no stranger to him. He smelled the pillow he used. It's no mistake. It's not a room fragrance, but it's a Jane scent. Wait, what Felix meant was that it was possible that this was the fragrant perfume or soap used by Jane. What is clear is that Jane's scent is like this, just like in the car. Of course, for these three days the girl had been sleeping on this bed.

Felix likes this scent. For some reason, this scent calmed him down. It made her feel comfortable until she involuntarily smiled and closed her eyes.
