Felix was busy cleaning vegetables and fruits in the kitchen when Jane walked into the apartment.
There was no sound of his bell calling Aiden or Felix's name as usual. The girl walked gontai towards the kitchen with her head lowered. Then she stood a few steps behind Felix, then looked up, staring at the straight back of her husband with a sad look.
Felix was not aware of Jane's presence until he felt a pair of hands wrapped around her waist. Without looking, Felix could recognize who the owner of a pair of tiny hands that hugged him. For a moment Felix smiled faintly, not expecting Jane to sneak in and hug him from behind like this.
“Jane, I know you must be very hungry after a busy day at the office, but your husband is not edible,” tempt Felix.
But the smile on Felix's face faded as soon as he heard Jane speak, “So I met with sister Helen.”
A shocked expression instantly appeared on Felix's face. “You met Helen's sister? Where?” ask Felix.
Jane ignored Felix's question just now and went back to talking, “Felix... Why did you never tell me?”
Felix just scrunched his forehead. What does Jane mean? Did her sister tell Jane anything? Suddenly the frown on Felix's forehead disappeared, replaced with his eyes that now looked slightly widened. Doesn't-don't Jane already know that.......
Felix's reflex took off Jane's hand link on her waist and turned around. He dropped Jane's shoulder and he saw the girl looking at him with a sad expression.
“T-wait, Jane..
“Why did you never tell me that your parents were dead?” sela Jane's.
Felix was silent. He immediately clenched back his open mouth.
“So that's why your parents weren't present at our wedding? Why didn't you tell me?” now tears are beginning to pool in Jane's eye.
Felix doesn't know what to do because now Jane is crying. The girl cupped her hands over her face and lowered her head. His shoulders rose and fell as his breathing began to falter. And a husband's instinct makes Felix pull Jane into his arms.
“Already Jane, you don't need to cry,” said Felix gently as he rubbed Jane's hair slowly. He hugged Jane tightly, as if it could make his wife stop sobbing.
Ever since they got married, this was the first time Felix had seen Jane cry, and it turned out that he didn't like her. Felix doesn't like to see his wife cry.
“Definitely heavy,” Jane took a deep breath to relieve her tightness. Then he lifted his face, looking at Felix with his eyes. “It must have been hard living without parents and being far apart from your brother and sister. All this time.. surely you are very lonely.”.
Jane's thin fingers moved wiping her own tears. Now he understood the reason Felix married him. This young man needed a life companion so that he would no longer be alone.
“It must be hard to stand alone at your wedding ceremony,” Jane said again.
Next to Felix's hand was raised and he rubbed Jane's cheek gently. A curve was created in his face, and the next second Felix advanced his face and kissed Jane's forehead gently. “No, Jane. Because I wasn't alone at the time, I was standing with you. And now there's Aiden, you're my new family.”
Jane steadied Felix's eyes deep, and he found sincerity radiating from there. Jane smiled and hugged Felix back. He felt relieved that now they could hug each other in times of decline like this, as well as give each other attention when one of them needed strength.
“Sorry because I didn't open my heart faster,” Jane said softly in Felix's arms.
“No problem for me. Since I will definitely wait until whenever,” Felix loosened their embrace and lowered his body to the level of Jane. “Well, now don't cry anymore, later Aiden will be jealous because you rival him,” joked Felix who then made Jane laugh and punched softly Felix shoulder.
“By the way, is that what you brought? You went shopping?” asked Felix while pointing at the two paper bags given by Helen earlier.
“Ah, no, I don't go shopping. It's from Helen's sister. She said one is a birthday present for you and the other is a wedding gift for me,” Jane replied as she walked towards the paper bag. Jane lifted the two paper bags and stepped into the living room, followed by Felix behind her.
Jane sat herself on the sofa and gestured Felix to sit next to her. Jane thrust a black paper bag at Felix. “I was telling my sister Helen that I would give you this gift right on your birthday, but since you've seen it I've given it now.”
Felix received the paper bag and without further ado he immediately pulled out a large black box from inside. When opened, he found a peach-colored satin shirt inside. Jane from earlier also noticed sticking out her hands and touching the shirt.
“Wah, very good. The material is also very soft.” Jane's Comment.
Hearing the praise of his wife, Felix was curious and pulled the shirt out of the box. He then stood up and aligned it to his body while asking, “What is suitable?”
“Suit. The size fits perfectly,” Jane replied while nodding her head and smiling widely. Felix smiled and sat down.
“How about your card?” asked Felix while putting the shirt back into his box and glanced at the other paper bag.
Without talking, Jane immediately grabbed her paper bag and pulled out the contents that were not much different from Felix's previous, a large box of light pink. Enthusiastically, Jane opened the box and found a satin and velvet blend of semi-pink peach.
Secretly Felix glanced at Jane who was staring at his card with sparkling eyes. Felix immediately realized, this is the reason why Helen asked what Jane's favorite color the other day. And Felix was grateful that the answer was not wrong.
“Is that a dress?” ask Felix.
“It seems so,” Jane replied without taking her eyes off.
“Try aligning on your body, let me see fit or not,” Felix suggested for Jane to do as she did before. Jane nodded, taking the dress from the box, standing up and aligning it in front of her.
For a moment Felix's eyes moved from top to bottom, scanning Jane's appearance. A second later, his expression changed. Jane, who was aware of Felix's reaction, asked. “Why? Doesn't fit huh?”
Felix scratched his nape with a clumsy smile, he then shook his head slowly, “No, really. The dress is great, and it suits you perfectly. But...” Felix hung up his words.
“But?” Jane parroted.
“But... pls don't use that dress out.” Felix continued, this time his hand seemed to be kneeling slowly.
“Why?” jane asked with a puzzled and curious expression printed clearly on her face.
“Because it is an evening dress, Jane.”
