The next morning Aiden was allowed to go home by a doctor because his fever had gone down. Jane and Felix are getting ready to go downstairs. Jane glanced at Felix who was standing waiting for her in the doorway holding Aiden in her hand. Jane knew very well that Felix must be feeling very tired, she could see clearly from her husband's face.
“Felix, here the car keys. Let me just drive, you must be tired all night not sleeping because Aiden,” Jane said as she walked closer to Felix. Felix nodded slowly and reached into his pants pocket to give Jane the car keys. After that they went downstairs and went back to their apartment.
No one spoke throughout the journey. Jane is also seen only focusing on the road in front of her. When stopped at the red light, then Jane turned to look at the two figures beside her. Felix falls asleep with Aiden still in his arms. Both of them fell asleep with faces that looked very peaceful. Jane's hand was raised and she touched Aiden's forehead. Jane is grateful in her heart because Aiden fever has really gone down.
His eyes turned to Felix, Jane sighs with relief to see the man finally able to close his eyes after almost an entire night awake because of Aiden. Jane's hand was raised again and now she allowed Felix's hair to cover her eyes. For a long time he stared at Felix's face. Just looking at Felix's face alone Jane can feel how tired this man is. But it makes Jane realize, if Felix really loves Aiden like his own biological son.
Jane smiled faintly and confirmed Felix's hair once more. “Thanks, Felix.”
...***...
“Felix.”
“Felix, wake.” Jane shook Felix's shoulder slowly. His car is now parked neatly in the apartment parking lot. Actually Jane did not feel the heart to wake Felix because the man was seen sleeping very soundly. But it would be better if they immediately went into the apartment, so that Felix could rest his body in the room comfortably.
Slowly, Felix's eyelids began to open. Felix blinked his eyes a few times, then looked straight at Jane. “What's up?”
“We have arrived,” said Jane slowly. The man's body wriggled small, then his hands were seen trying to remove the seat belt hook. Responding, Jane immediately helped Felix remove the seatbelt.
Felix said a slow thank you and was just about to open the car door when Jane suddenly rushed out and ran around the car, stopping in front of Felix who was just about to get out of the car.
“Sini, let me just carry Aiden,” said Jane while taking Aiden from Felix's sling. “Your hand must be sore.”
Felix just blinked his eyes and said nothing at the sight of Jane's attitude. It felt like his brain had not been able to digest anything well and his consciousness had not yet fully accumulated. Felix got out and shut the door. For a moment his head felt dizzy from standing up suddenly. Felix turned his head and looked at Jane who had walked first to the entrance of the apartment building. While slowly kneeling his nape, Felix began to walk after Jane.
Jane slowed her pace and looked back. He saw Felix who was walking towards him with slow steps and looked a little staggered. Jane patted her own forehead.
‘Yeah jane, you're so stupid. How can you leave her alone,’ Jane's scolding on herself. Carrying Aiden, Jane turned and ran towards Felix.
“Felix, are you okay?” jane asked as she looked at Felix, who was massaging his neck.
Felix glanced at Jane at a glance and then he smiled faintly. “I'm fine.”
Jane frowned. The man before her looked completely pale. Finally, with one of her hands free, Jane took Felix by the hand and pulled him slowly.
“Come quickly we enter.” They immediately went up to their apartment.
Arriving at the apartment, Jane pulls Felix's hand towards the sofa. He tells Felix to sit down and rushes to the second floor to put Aiden in the baby box in his room. After making sure Aiden was safe, Jane returned to the first floor and immediately went to the kitchen to get water for Felix.
“This, drink first,” Jane held out a glass of water to Felix. Felix received the glass and immediately gulped it down. Jane sat herself next to Felix on the sofa.
Jane turned to Felix, he looked at Felix for a long time and then asked, “Do you want to sleep? You better rest in the room.”
Felix shook his head slowly. “It's okay, I want to sit here first.”
Jane nodded her head slowly and did not ask again. They were silent for a while until Jane remembered something. “Ah yes, I saw Aiden had started sweating. Does that mean we can wash it? Well, with warm water of course.”
Felix looked soft. “Iya, I think we can already bathe him.”
“Then I will heat the water first,” said Jane while standing from the sofa and immediately tiptoed towards the kitchen to heat the water.
Felix remained sitting while leaning his head on the back of the sofa. The smile that had been imprinted on his face was now shrinking. His hand touched his nape again, his head still felt a little throbbing even though it was not as painful as before. Felix sighed softly, he did not want to cause any concern to Jane, and at least now he could rest for a while.
“I've boiled the water,” sounds Jane's approaching. In line with Jane's arrival, Felix immediately pulled back his hand that was sequencing his neck. He turned to Jane, who was sitting himself beside him.
“Stay wait for the water to boil,” continued Jane with a smile. Felix returned Jane's smile and nodded slightly.
“Oh yes, Felix..” Jane turned her body towards Felix. Felix turned his head and threw a questioning gaze at Jane. “Soal baby sit–”
Jane did not continue her words. He fell silent and his face turned towards the stairs leading to the top floor. Felix frowned and turned to the stairs. Sayup-sayup sounds like crying. Felix didn't seem to be so focused that he looked back at Jane still with a frown on his forehead, feeling confused. Unlike the case with Jane, he immediately straightened his back and stood up.
“I think Aiden was crying,” Jane said before finally rushing up to the second floor.
Felix's eyes follow Jane's steps. He was so tired that he had no intention of catching up with Jane. Felix let his worry tucked away and closed his eyes again. He stretched his still sore hand and felt a throbbing in his head that was back in pain. Felix took a breath and threw it away slowly, trying to relax his muscles and mind, accompanied by a voice from the direction of the kitchen that sounded like a whistle.
Wait, it sounds like a whistle? Felix opened his eyes. He almost forgot that Jane was boiling water. Of course, the whistle that had crossed her hearing just now was a sign that the water boiled by Jane in the stainless teapot had boiled. A little forced, Felix got up from the sofa and stepped slowly towards the kitchen.
The first sight that was visible to his eyes was a puff of steam coming out of a small hole in the mouth of a stainless teapot, which was also the cause of a loud whistle-like sound that now clearly filled the kitchen room. Felix's left hand stretched out to turn off the electric stove before him. After the stove was turned off, the other hand immediately lifted a teapot filled with water and felt quite heavy in his hand that was still sore. As soon as the teapot lifted off the surface of the electric stove, Felix felt his hands pulsing and began to shake. He rushed towards the stone table not far from the stove and tried to endure the pain in his hand, but failed.
Prude!!!
“Arrghhhh.!”
The stainless teapot slid free from Felix's grip and clashed against the floor. All the hot water in the teapot was spilled, even successfully hitting Felix's hands. The man immediately backed down and complained of pain.
Jane who heard a rowdy sound from downstairs immediately carried Aiden and rushed down while continuing to call Felix by name. As soon as he arrived at the kitchen, his eyes immediately widened in shock.
“Felix!”
