Loving Paralyzed Men
Good News

The headache Akira felt instantly vanished, as he looked at the faint smile Dimas showed. His blackened chin as it began to be overgrown with a beard looked in contrast to his very pale skin.

"I'm feeling better now, and I'm very optimistic about getting well. What time is it?" Ask Dimas.

Akira pulled back the chair he was sitting on while wiping away the tears that flowed on his cheeks. He looked at the clock that was on the wall.

"Seven hours past thirty minutes, morning." Answer Akira.

Akira tried to hold back his tears from falling, but the tears just kept flowing down his cheeks. Akira wiped his tears using the back of his hand, then looked for the tissue inside his bag to wipe his nose.

Dimas laughed a little. "I didn't mean to disappoint you. Do you wish . . . . . . . I would die?"

Akira who sobbed then laughed when Doctor Jerry came and immediately told Dimas' condition.

"You had a very bad night last night, Mr. Dimas. For a moment, I thought I should put a ventilator on you. But this morning your breathing condition began to improve."

"Doc, can I be free from the use of a ventilator?" Dimas asked with a tense look, hoping Doctor Jerry's answer could calm him down.

"I can't be sure at the moment, but I'm quite optimistic. It is possible if you can avoid using a ventilator. I know you have so many questions. In a few days we will know more about your condition. In the meantime I want you two to think positively. If your condition remains stable in the next few weeks, you no longer need to be in the ICU, Mr. Dimas. You can move to the treatment room."

Akira could see a glimmer of hope in Dimas' eyes.

"You could be in the hospital for weeks, months or even months, it all depends on what kind of treatment you want. We'll start with a physical-therapy program while you're in the hospital."

Hearing the words of Doctor Jerry who is optimistic about Dimas' recovery, Akira is eager to spill his grief by crying. But the ICU room is not a suitable place to be a place to cry. Akira got up from his seat then stretched his shoulder muscles.

"Good news makes me hungry. I'm actually hungry and want breakfast in the hospital cafeteria." Akira pokes Dimas's arm. "Be a good man as long as I'm gone." lankut Akira.

Jerry's doctor examined Dimas' chest using a stethoscope and touched his neck.

"Males usually want to know if GBS will affect their sexual problems.."

Dimas seemed to be poking his lips and said. "Yes, I seem to want to know too."

"I'm afraid, I can't be sure of this Mr. Dimas. But I am very optimistic about your chance to be able to recover completely from all the complaints you experience."

Jerry left Dimas in the ICU alone after talking about his condition.

'What the hell is that Doctor. First he made me optimistic about the good news, but he quickly came back saying he couldn't promise me anything. Damn it.' umpat Dimas in the heart.

In a heart-wrenching unease, Dimas recalls how Akira now cares for him. Akira was even willing to accompany her all day, even crying for her while in critical condition.

Dimas felt very happy just thinking about how warm Akira was while at his side.

Three days later, Doctor Jerry decides to move Dimas to the hospital room. When Akira reaches the hospital, Dimas's spirit is fiery.

"Look at this Akira, a room with facilities such as a cheap hotel: a bed that is not soft, ugly curtains, and there is also a tv that only has four channels, which has four channels, there's even a bathroom that can make you feel comfortable, but not with me" Dimas said.

"Congratulations Dimas, for your return to human civilization." rang Akira.

"It makes me so excited. For the first time since arriving here, I can finally think of getting out of this place." Dimas replied.

"We should celebrate? What do you like? Did the doctor allow you to just drink soda? I can prepare it for you." - Akira.

"I don't think so. It looks like I want to eat meat" Dimas said.

"Alright, don't let the hospital feed you dinner. I'll be back in a few hours."

Three hours later Akira returned to the hospital with a hot water flask, a picnic basket complete with floral fabric as cover.

Akira started to pull out the contents from the basket. There are several pieces of steak that have been baked, a medium-sized flat plate, two handkerchiefs, and one, a pair of spoons and forks and not forgetting Akira took out a rose and put it in a glass vase filled with water.

"This basket is too small, so I only carry one plate. So we'll eat a plate of both." said Akira.

Dimas looks very enthusiastic when Akira starts arranging food on the available table. Akira pulled out a bowl of vegetable salad topped with a sauce he made himself.

Akira stared directly into Dimas' eyes as he gave him a glass of uh tea by thrusting a straw into Dimas' lips. Then pick up the steak pieces using a fork, then feed Dimas. After that go back to picking up the steak pieces and feeding himself.

"perfect." Said Dimas whose gaze was never separated from looking at Akira.

"I cooked it according to the seasoning you like.."

"You cooked it?" tanya Dimas answered Akira's nod. "You must be very troubled. I thought you'd order food."

"For someone who hasn't completely felt free from the hospital, you have to get the best. Not just ordering roasted chicken or vegetables that are just sauteed from food providers via online. Look at it later, if you're cured, I'll take you around town. I'll show you where the best restaurant in town is." said Akira.

Akira continues to feed Dimas as well as himself by using only one fork. Dimas felt his own sensation because he ate a plate together with Akira.

This activity makes Akira recall the past. The two had a picnic in the park. Just like today, they both ate with a plate. Sharing spoons and forks. Laughing happily together.

Akira again brushed off the memory, realising that there would be no future between the two if they were to reunite again.

After the food ran out, Dimas again asked, "What is dessert?"

Akira smiled then pulled out a small setoples of blueberry sauce.

"Do you want this?" ask Akira.

"Of course." Answer Dimas.

Akira then takes a spoonful of blueberry sauce and feeds Dimas.

"Do you remember the blueberry sauce moment?" ask Akira.

"I told you, I won't forget it."

On the third time Akira feeds Dimas the stroberry sauce, Dimas bites the spoon and holds it with his lips. Akira tried to pull the spoon, but Dimas slowly removed the spoon from his lips.

"Do you want some blueberry sauce, too?" Ask Dimas.

"No." retorted Akira.

Dimas held back the spoon with his lips as Akira bribed him. Both views are very close. Akira suddenly brought his face closer to Dimas involuntarily. He lowered his head as the spoon slipped from Dimas's lips.

As it got closer, suddenly the spoon that was held by Akira was released and caused a loud clang, which eventually made Akira so wrong.

Akira immediately picked up the spoon that had fallen under Dimas' bed. But while trying to get up, Akira's head hits the couch. To make him grimace in pain and also shame.

Akira then put all the equipment into the basket and prepared to go home.

"I have to go now. There's work I need to finish. Good night Dimas" said Akira then walked out.
