Loving Paralyzed Men

Loving Paralyzed Men
Diam

This is a very long month for Akira. For the first time he felt so lazy to go to work. Every day, he works like a robot. He felt desperate because there were no investors who wanted to work with Akira Fashion Designer.

'At least by working I can get away from home, away from Dimas.' Akira thought.

Almost every night when Akira comes home from work, Dimas is still awake, but he looks busy with his work or busy with exercises to strengthen the muscles of his arms and legs. Dimas looks increasingly focused on undergoing his therapy.

One afternoon Dimas called Akira when he had just returned home.

"about! Come here, look at my new toy." Dimas.

Intrigued by the sound of excitement from Dimas, Akira then walked into Dimas' room.

Dimas showed off the tires from his new wheelchair.

"See. No more machines! Now I can use the power of my own hands!"

"You're making a lot of progress right now." Akira said he hoped his fake smile could show that he was enthusiastic about what Dimas felt.

"Yeahh." Reply Dimas. "I decided to train harder so I could finish this therapy as soon as possible."

"That's great." Reply Akira lazily.

Akira feels grateful for the concrete evidence that Dimas will soon recover. The sooner Dimas recovers, the sooner he gets his freedom.

Sunday afternoon, Dimas was training in Akira's spacious living room with his wheelchair. Dimas stopped Akira from going inside.

"If you have time, I'm going out of the house for a minute."

Dimas looks very bored, making Akira unconsciously approve of Dimas' wishes.

"Where are you going?" Ask Akira.

"Where only. Just out of the house."

"How about going to the mall. You can maneuver with your new toy there." Akira.

"Good idea."

Akira helps Dimas get into the van. Along the way to the mall in the center of the city, both were silent. Makes the atmosphere uncomfortable.

As Dimas walked on his own wheelchair in the crowd, Akira followed behind him. They do look together, together, but in reality they are busy with their respective worlds.

Akira thought about how happy and happy the two of them were a few weeks ago. They go together, eat together, walk together, laugh together and come back home exhausted. But they are both happy.

Today, both of them just fell silent and did nothing. Dimas finally breaks the silence between them by thanking them, as Akira helps him into the house.

The next day, Dimas arrives a friend from his hometown and spends the day with him.

After Dimas finished telling about his GBS illness, his friend Jhonny asked,

"What about Akira? I thought you guys were doing something together."

Dimas wants to talk about everything else but Akira. When Akira's name is mentioned, Dimas's emotions become unstable.

"No, nothing happened between us. And it's never gonna happen." Reply Dimas. "This might be the best thing for both of us." Dimas continued trying to speak calmly.

"Let's get out bro. Go clubbing...." Jhonny holds a Dimas wheelchair. "Or wherever you want." Further.

"Clubbing sounds fun." Reply Dimas.

'Sounds fun, rather than having to sit here and talk about Akira.' Dimas said in his heart.

After several attempts, Jhonny finally manages to get Dimas into the van and takes Dimas away to a club filled with smoke and loud music.

Both of them sat around a table. Dimas looked at the crowd around him and smiled in a forced manner.

"Good idea, Jhon. I need entertainment like this" Dimas told a lie.

Dimas never went to the club again after his graduation day in college. And nothing ever changed, especially when he was with Akira, he never drank alcohol again.

With a drink in hand, Jhonny leaves Dimas for the dance floor and soon returns with a young girl. Jhonny introduced him to Dimas, then returned to the dance floor.

Cigarette smoke from people nearby Dimas made his eyes sore. And his head felt pulsating according to the rhythm of the bass heard. Dimas was finally drunk.

'I was drunk with my condition like this. What have I done.' thought Dimas.

However, Dimas again fainted the drink and finished it before Jhonny finally found Dimas drowning in his wheelchair.

Fortunately, Jhonny is a person who can bear to drink alcohol in large quantities. He brings Dimas back to Akira's house and tries to help him get into bed. However, Jhonny looks difficult because of Dimas' weight, and both are equally drunk.

Dimas wanted to explain to Jhonny that there was an assistive device that could raise him to bed. But because Dimas was too drunk, he could not say anything. The two men looked troubled and shouted at each other.

Akira fell silent and stood at the door looking at the two men. Dimas.

"Ooh no Jhonny, he looks very angry. We've done a bad thing, Jhonny." Dimas.

Without a word, Akira helps Jhonny move Dimas to bed with the help of a device.

'No, I don't like this.' thought Dimas.

Akira remained silent, and Dimas disliked the moment Akira saw himself in such a foolish and helpless state as he was today.

"This is your fault." Dimas pointed to Akira. "All your fault."

A few nights later, Akira walks past Dimas' room and sees him practicing weight lifting.

"How are you doing?" Ask Akira.

"Good." Reply Dimas."Rama says I can use my usual bed now. Because I'm strong enough to move myself into a wheelchair."

"Congratulations." Akira.

"Aren't you going to give me a bed with your own sheets and pillowcases?"

'Make something for him? Hmm no.' Akira thought.

"Why should I make it for you?" Said Akira with a rising intonation.

"You made a lot of things for your house. I thought you were gonna make something for me."

Somehow Akira's anger subsided.

"sorry. I really don't have time, I have a lot of work." Akira.

Akira actually wants to offer to take Dimas out shopping, but thoughts about helping Dimas in and out of the Van, thoughts about coming into contact with Dimas, or spending time alone with Dimas, are not, makes Akira depressed.

"But I can send him tomorrow for you. I can..."

"no need. I'll arrange everything myself." Cut Dimas.

"Oh okay. Pick and buy as you please, and take it with you when you leave my house."

"If that's what you want."

"All right." Akira then went away.

"about?" Dimas' voice sounded weak.

Akira freezes.

"I appreciate the friendship you've made.... More than you know."

"Together." Akira. "Good night." Akira.

"Yeah." Reply Dimas. "Good night."

On the way to his room, Akira curses himself for being rude to Dimas. However, Akira was hit by stress because his business did not get investors. He was eager to tell Oma Lydia everything, but again Akira did not want to make the old woman think.

Akira is also no longer able to meet his friends since Dimas was at his house. In any case, Dimas will recover soon and will leave Akira's house. From then on Akira can start to rebuild his life.
