"Why are you in this town?" ask Akira.
"I'm in a job, yeah, some kind of investment business."
"What hotel are you staying at? If you want, I can take your stuff and bring it to my house."
"Everything's taken care of. I sent someone last night."
"Should I call your office?" bargain Akira.
"There's no need I can handle everything from here. I feel like I'm on vacation." said Dimas.
"Good for you." Akira replied. "I called Sofia Dim, and I told her the truth."
"Why?" ask Dimas in shock.
"He's your brother, and, although he's more self-centered, he cares about you. He deserves to know that you're sick."
"Then, how did you react?"
"After explaining everything, I happily said that she's a strong woman, but I'm not sure she's understood what I've explained about your condition."
"He's not coming here, is he?" dimas's eyes showed concern. "You know he makes me dizzy."
"She's going to visit you, but not today. He said he had a plan. She's an overprotective big sister, isn't she?"
Dimas turned the eyeball lazily, but remained silent.
"When were you and she ever close? Was it before your parents died?"
"No, since he was six years older than me, I was only seven and we were very close. When Mom and Dad died, I just went to college. Sofia was supposed to take care of all the inheritance that was given to me until I graduated. But when I started asking her for money, she started to look like she didn't like the responsibility to me and she started leaving me to manage my own life." Dimas said.
"I never knew about it. So can you take good care of your entire legacy?"
"I wish I could be like that fact, I spent my college years alone squandering my money."
"It's hard for me to imagine you as a spendthrift, and a playboy. I'm just looking at the serious side of you."
"Just after I had spent a lot of inheritance, I realized that I had to support my own life and my family..." Dimas looked at Akira with a fixed look. "I started investing money to start my company, Abraham Group, and you know how it goes."
Akira smiled bitterly. He looked at Dimas who was now lying helplessly. It turns out Dimas is a man who has been independent since long ago. He is required by circumstance to take care of his own life.
"Now tell me, what have you been doing for the past three years?" ask Akira.
"Work." replied Dimas.
Akira laughed, "I should have known about it. No vacation to an exotic place? It's still the same as the old Dimas, Mr. Boring." ridiculed Akira.
"I already have a schedule for next month's vacation" Dimas said. "I was preparing for a long holiday and rest" Dimas continued. "There's a lot of exotic places I want to go."
"Your life must be more interesting than mine. Tell me, what have you done?" tanya Dimas was curious, although she actually knew, and even knew very well about what Akira had done the past three years.
"Sorry to disappoint you, but my life is not so different from yours. I've been working all along." replied Akira.
"I'd be very happy if you'd like to tell me about your life all along" Dimas said.
Akira is shocked by Dimas' interest in his life story. Akira finally started telling stories.
"I did what I told you three years ago when I left the house we used to live in in in the next town. I started college majoring in business management. Then graduated quickly and got a master of business administration degree. After that I and Oma Lidia borrowed money from the Bank and started building a boutique with my own brand Akira Fashion Designer" Akira said proudly.
Akira looked at Dimas with a meaningful look. "The exact same design I showed you that you call 'dumb design'" Akira said.
"I can never understand how you can be sure that you can design an outfit."
"You never try to understand. When I started talking about designing clothes, you stopped listening and started fighting. I never had a chance to show you my designs or even just to tell you that I took two courses to learn more about running a business." Akira regulated his breathing, trying to speak with as calm an intonation as possible.
"Come on! Give me another chance this time to hear it all."
Although Dimas' voice sounded soft, Akira was still hesitant to tell him everything. Akira no longer wants to hear criticism, ridicule, or rejection Dimas about his work.
"Do you remember my Oma, Oma Lydia?"
"of course. How's that energetic old lady doing?"
"Still healthy as always. He sends you his regards."
"No way! He certainly thinks I'm trash."
"My smart mom was a fashion designer until she retired. When I was a kid, he taught me to play with pencil and paper. We do not know that it is possible to start designing your own fashion at a small cost and also a little expertise, but look now we can finally have a boutique with a fashion brand of its own."
"Are you happy now?" dimas said as he stared at Akira.
"I'm proud of myself. I'm not sure why having a career is so important, unless I need to make something for myself, to be an encouragement to myself. Success became even more important after I failed so badly when I could not fulfill customer orders due to lacking materials. But I realized that my lack of business experience and skill made success more possible. I learned that the hardest, the best way." said Akira.
Akira stopped talking, given the problem he was facing. But now he can breathe a sigh of relief, there is a sponsor who wants to fund a fashion show that he will follow.
"Are your efforts okay now?" ask Dimas.
Akira smiled confidently. He looked directly into Dimas's eyes, then said, "Everything is in good shape, even very good Dimas" he replied.
Unless those sponsors are unwilling to fund my fashion show, Akira murmured slowly.
Akira smiled bitterly, trying to hide the problem he was facing in front of Dimas.
I know what you're thinking about Akira, and I'll help you, I promise, Dimas murmured inwardly.
