MARANTI (FOOD OF THE DEAD)

MARANTI (FOOD OF THE DEAD)
EPISODE 4: LAMPU

For some reason, Panji who has been fussy since then continues to suddenly laugh giggling like someone is shady.

"How do you laugh at yourself?" asked the Goddess while holding her child's head.

The banner of rebellion did not want to be held by his head. He even tilted his body to the left and right side as if he was playing Cilukba with someone behind Bu Dewi.

"Panjiii!!! Don't be soaring, son! Falling later. There is no one behind the mother" said Miss Dewi on Panji who is actually still a Toddler.

The banner still moved its head to the left and to the right with increasingly loud giggling sounds. Bu Dewi was more confused by the action carried out by Panji. He hurriedly left the house occupied by Laras. And Panji cried loudly as if taken by his favorite toy.

"Cup ... Pt ... Pt ... Son! I'm gonna get some magrib, son. Can't play outside. We're playing in the house, yuk!" persuade the Goddess to Panji.

Panji was rather calm after being talked about like that.

"Pinter's son!" said Bu Dewi while peeping Panji.

"Pity you, son. This small one's been left with your mother. I promise I'll take care of you like a mother's own son,"

After the magrib, Mr. Salihun and Mr. Ratno came to the house of Bu Dewi to help arrange the living room to be used as a place of tahlilan.

"Mr hasn't come yet, Mum?" ask Mr. Salihun.

"Yet. Still on the road," replied Miss Dewi lightly while arranging the wet cake that she had bought on the plate.

"Tumbent kok? Usually before magrib already sitting in front while carrying Panji?" ask Mr. Salihun.

"Yes. Sending things out of town" replied Miss Dewi.

"Mom, the light in the other house is turned off, huh? Shouldn't it be turned on at night?" mr. Salihun said again.

Ms. Dewi momentarily stopped her activities and looked in wonder at Mr. Salihun.

"Which house, sir? The house that Laras occupied? I turned it on before the magrib," replied Miss Dewi firmly.

"Loh! Yes tah? I just went through it dark. Isn't that right, Rat?" said Mr. Salihun while asking Mr. Ratno.

"Yes, Mom. It was dark at home. I see it somewhat how it is," said Mr. Ratno.

"Ooo ... Maybe the lights are broken. Let me change tomorrow" replied Miss Dewi.

"Mom will change?" asked Mr. Salihun not believe it.

"Yes. Why, Sir? Is there anything strange?" The Goddess asked back.

"E-nothing ..it's okay, ma'am," replied Mr. Salihun later.

Bu Dewi was alone in the house with Panji who had slept while people read Yasin's letter. Miss Dewi touched Panji's forehead. Thank God the sumer is gone.

Ustad Andi walked towards his home. To get to his house, he had to go through the house of Bu Dewi which occupied Laras. Ustad Andi glanced briefly at the house whose lights were off. Memories of his childhood when he played the same Barrel in the house suddenly come to his mind. Mbok Inah, the mother of Laras is patient and hardworking. Ustad Andi who used to live a simple life often eat together with Mbok Inah and Laras in the house. Usually Mbok Inah was getting good food from the house of Bu Dewi and Pak Herman as the employer.

Ustad Andi and Laras are very familiar. Every morning they go to school together. If not Ustad Andi who picked up Laras, Yes on the contrary, Laras who picked up Ustad Andi at his home. But they never dated. They were both innocent at the time.

"Sir, where are you going?" greet Ustad Andi to his wife who happened to walk his way with Ustad Andi

Ustad Andi's wife did not say. She continued to walk as if she did not care about her husband's call.

"Diiiik!!!" call Ustad Andi in a louder voice.

Ustad Andi's wife continued to leave regardless of her husband. Ustad Andi began to fret, thinking that his wife was upset with him. He followed his wife who went up to the titian and walked towards the house of Laras.

Ustad Andi, anxious about his wife's strange behavior, ran and pulled his wife's hand to prevent her from entering Laras' house.

"Diii! Where are you going?" tanya Ustad Andi's.

Ustad Andi's wife silently pegged in the courtyard of the house Laras. Ustad Andi drew his wife's hand to his chest with his wife's intention to turn. However, suddenly Ustad Andi was startled by the sound of a call from the direction of the road.

"Yesdaaaaad? What's in there?" shouted Mr. Salihun.

Ustad Andi turned his head towards Mr. Salihun while maintaining his grip on his wife's hand. He did not want to express his wife's anger towards Mr. Salihun.

"This, Sir. I was -" answered Ustad Andi, turning to his wife again.

"Astagfirullah!!!" screeched Ustad Andi because he did not see his wife next to him.

"Why, Ustad?" ask Mr. Salihun and Mr. Ratno while approaching Ustad Andi.

Mr. Salihun and Mr. Ratno were actually horrified to be in front of Laras' house. But, he could not bear to see Ustad Andi confusion in that place. The eyes of Mr. Salihun and Mr. Ratno were busy looking at the entire corner of the Laras yard with a worried look.

"It's okay, sir. I'm here because I want to check the meter of this house. Who knows the meter switch forgot to turn on. It's dark" replied Ustad Andi lying.

"Oah. Not Ustad. The lamp is dead. I reported to Madam Dewi. He said that tomorrow he would change the lights" replied Mr. Salihun.

"Ooo so," said Ustad Andi.

"Come, let's just go home Ustad!" invite Mr. Salihun who can not stand to linger in that place.

"Come on!" answer Ustad Andi.

The three of them went home. Ustad Andi was still thinking about what he had just experienced. At home, he was still suspicious of his wife. Is that really his wife, right?
