MARANTI (FOOD OF THE DEAD)

MARANTI (FOOD OF THE DEAD)
EPISODE 35

Finally the bike we rode had reached the rice field. It indicates that in a few moments we will arrive at Mr. Handoko's house. The fog that covered the streets grew thicker. The cold was getting bone-chilling. Visibility is also becoming more limited. Fortunately, the headlights of the new Mas Diki motorbike a few weeks ago were replaced so that it was enough to help the vision ahead.

In my heart I thought, did Nur walk from home to here? If so, why did we go from home to where we are now, and we did not see our son? The distance from home to this place is very far. If so, then Nur had left long before I woke up.

Just for a moment I thought about it, suddenly from the front lights of our motorbike, I saw something that I knew very well.

"Mas ... Mas ... That's the slipper Nur, Mas!" I said while pointing at the white flip-flops with yellow straps in the middle of the road. Mas Diki looked at the sandals that were just next to it.

"Yes, Brother. Means Nur's here, Dik. We must hurry so that it is not too late" said my husband by again speeding up his vehicle which was originally slowed to observe the sandals that were just next door.

"Yes, Mas. Ayooooo .. game, Mas!" I answered with more worry.

We just said it, suddenly ..

BRAAAAC

The motorbike we were driving hit something so that Mas Diki and I were thrown. We were both thrown to the edge of the paddy field.

"Sir, are you okay?" ask my husband while crawling towards me. My husband's body is full of mud, just like mine.

"No, Mas. I'm it's okay. I was just shocked, "I replied.

"So what did we hit, Mas?" my many.

"Come, Sister. Mas didn't see anything in front, but the front tyre was like it hit something. Come on, Dik, wake up! We continue our journey!" Take my husband and pull me out of the mud.

We stood back up too. It was fortunate that the lumour texture of the rice field had saved us from serious injuries. Actually, the pain exists. However, I do not mind because I want to get to the house of Mr. Handoko immediately.

"Mas, it turns out we hit a rock. This stone is in the middle of the road" I told the husband who was trying to turn on his motorbike.

"Get rid of the stone, brother! So that no one else will have the same fate as us" my husband said.

"Yes, my mother" I answered, lifting the stone to throw it on the side of the road.

I just lifted the stone, suddenly there was a giggling sound from the stone I was lifting in my hand.

"Hi hi hi hi hi hi hi,"

It turned out that the thing I was holding was not a stone, but a ghost in the shape of a human head. His hair was long with red bulging eyes, his teeth were fanged, and his bottom was twitching like a snake.

"Astagfirullah!!!" I was shocked and immediately threw the ghost aside. I ran and jumped on my husband's bike.

"Buruan, Mas!" my screams were immediately echoed by my husband.

Mas Diki immediately ran his motor away from the human head-shaped ghost. I hugged my husband's body in fear.

"Mas .. I fear" I said, not daring to look back.

"Take yourself in, brother. It seems like the head ghost was just deliberately sent to block our arrival" my husband said.

"That means Mr. Handoko already knows that we're coming, Mas?" I asked while sobbing.

"I'm sure the culprit already knows. But, I am still not sure if Mr. Handoko is the culprit. Because as far as we know, he is a good person," said Mas diki.

"So, I agree with Clara that the culprit is Clara's foster father?" my many.

"Lantas, what does Mr. Handoko have to do with them? Why do I see in my dream, Mr. Handoko is the one who threw me and Nur into the abyss," I replied leaking the contents of my dream earlier.

"You dream Mr Handoko, Sister?" tanya Mas Diki was in disbelief.

"Yes, Mas. The man who threw me into the abyss was Mr. Handoko, not Clara's foster father" I replied.

"Sik, honestly I don't understand everything that's going on. But, if you remember what was said by his uncle Siti that you will be the one who can save Nur. Mas just reminds you to stay alert, both to Clara's foster father, and to Mr. Handoko," said Mas Diki while still riding his motorcycle.

"I-i-iya, Mom. But, to be honest I'm still very scared, Mom. Don't stay away from me, okay? I was also confused as to how to save Nur from their crimes" I replied.

"Stranquil, Sister. We must always pray and be confident that Allah SWT will protect us all" he said.

"Amandus ...,"

A few minutes later, we arrived at the vehicle we were riding in front of the gate of Pak Handoko's house. After parking the bike, we walked slowly to the gate. We watched the gate. Thankfully, the door was not locked. So, we can get into that yard.

The night is getting worse. The atmosphere there is very quiet and gripping. No crickets or nocturnal animals. In fact, around the house is a rice field area. Weird right?

I took my husband's hand to walk through the yard. I looked at the house in front of me. It was dark, like there was no one at all. I wonder in my heart, where is Nur now?

"Mas, are we going to get into that house?" I whispered slowly to my husband.

"No, Sister. I'm sure Nur wasn't in that house" my husband replied.

"Lantas, where are we going, Mas?" ask my husband.

"Wait, Brother. I want to think for a moment!" replied husband.

"Yes, Mas. But, manhunt, huh? I'm afraid I'll stand here for a long time. I feel like I'm being watched" I replied.

Mas Diki seemed to circulate his gaze around. I don't know what he's thinking. Meanwhile, my mind was deadlocked at that moment, what I was doing was confused.

After thinking for some time, Mas Diki finally came up with an idea. He pulled me to walk towards the back gate.

"Mas, where are we going?" I was confused as to what he would do.

"We'd better move from outside the fence, sir" he whispered.

"Through the fringes of the rice fields, do you mean?" my many.

"Yes, Brother. I'm sure we'll be freer to watch through the outside of the fence" my husband replied trying to convince me.

"S-s-it looks like k-k-we t-t-not b-b-can k-k-out l-l-again, M-m-mas!" reply stammered.

"Why, Sister? The gate is unlocked, right. Anyone can go in and out of this place" said Mas Diki.

"I-i-that, M-m-mas," I choked in restraint as I pointed towards the gate.

My hand was holding my husband's hand. Mas Diki turned towards the gate. Our blood gasped because at the gate we saw a white-colored tiger walking back and forth and turned towards the two of us with its savage gaze.
