14. Salary Offered Not Given For Free

Waiting for him to finish eating will not make Lyra back up, if later Rigel asked him to recreate his food. After Rigel decided Lyra as the person who provided food for him, now Lyra no longer has a position as a cook in the cafeteria, but becomes a personal cook CEO of PT Starlight.

"I'm done soon. And I made sure I'd eat my food. So no need to worry if I tell you to make my lunch back. Because I'm not gonna do it."

Lyra can be a little relieved but not fully believed, because Rigel has not tasted it. If it is not in accordance with his taste, he will automatically not eat the food.

And after a few minutes, Rigel finished checking the files that were piling up on his desk. He then grabbed the food Lyra made on his desk. When the food starts to touch, Lyra is not stopping to pay attention to it.

Rigel glanced at Lyra. "Why are you looking at me like that. Do you want to taste it too."

"No, please continue eating" said Lyra who immediately shifted her eyes.

"Oh yeah, how long have you been friends with the guy who was waiting for you last night in front of the house?" Ask Rigel while eating.

"Hmm, we've been friends for a long time. Because our parents were close friends, we may have been together since infancy. So it's likely that we're friends after I'm 24."

"Do you like it?"

"Of course I like it a lot."

As Rigel placed his spoon on the plate, he sighed. "It turns out that women and men can't be friends. You actually have feelings for her."

Lyra furrowed both her brows. "Well, why does Mr. Rigel think that I have feelings for my best friend."

"Didn't you just say you liked it a lot."

Lyra chuckles. "I like him because he's my best friend. Don't like it like someone who's in love."

Rigel folds his arms over his stomach. "Oh, do you know that men and women cannot make friendships. Because if you make a friendship, surely among them will have more feelings."

"I don't think that's possible. Because we promised that we wouldn't feel like people in love. And we promised that we would never have more than friends. You know, not until we're in a relationship as lovers. Our relationship might break down if we break up one day, so we'll never have the feelings you think we have."

Instantly Rigel smiled faintly, he again picked up his spoon and went back to devouring his food.

Lyra closed her mouth with her palm. "Wouldn't that be too big, even the salary I received where I used to work wasn't that big."

"I think the salary I give is very small."

"But in my opinion, it's not a very small amount. As much as that is not unnatural with my job which is only as a cook for Rigel sir. What if the others heard about the salary Rigel gave me. Wouldn't cause trouble."

"You're different from everyone else, those who are here work for the company. While you work for me. And the salary I give you comes from my personal money, while they're in the payroll of the company."

Lyra did not expect with the fantastic salary that Rigel gave her. Just preparing a meal is not worth the salary Rigel gave her, while Lyra is not a professional chef.
